March Mamas 2012 Baby Group (Closed Group)

Skadi- I hate people telling me what baby wants!! I also hate when people won't give him back to me! Like the other day FIL held him while we ate lunch then I went to take him back so he could eat his lunch and I could feed bub and he was all no I'll wait till MIL is finished lunch as she can hold him! Um it's my f'ing baby give him back! I was like no I need to feed him so I'll take him he still wouldn't hand him over till I said it 3 times!! And before that MIL was all why don't you eat lunch 1 handed and get some practice of holding the baby and eating to my FIL NO we don't even hold bub while eating.. How about you friggen ask first before decided shit about my baby!!! My other pet hate is people hold bub and he starts crying for a feed. I say oh his hungry and they just laugh at him saying are you hungry little man and continue trying to settle him.. How about you hand my starving child back to me so I can feed him rather then laugh at him whilst he is obviously upset.. I don't find listening to my crying baby funny.. I've gotten much better at just taking him off people now!!

Sorry for the mini rant!

Congratulations city mouse!! And anyone else with new bubs that I missed!

Still keeping up with you ladies just!! It's interesting to hear all the different routines and feeding schedules from you all.. last nights feeds went 8.30, 11.30, 3.30 and 7.00 so not too bad. By the time he has fed, been changed and re settled I tend to be up for an hour each time. I can't wait till he drops a night feed! Would be amazing!

It's so irritating. She said again that she was crying because she was hungry (had absolutely nothing with her holding her with her head lower than her body, trying to rock her AND patting her back all at the same time right?) so I took that opportunity to just agree and whisk her off to my bedroom for a cuddle. I just kept her in the room with me until SIL gave up and left. hehe.

We are still 8:30, 11:30, 2:30, 5:30 and 8:30 for evening/night feeds. The length of each feeds varies though. 11:30 usually is an hour or extends right into the 2:30 feed (urgh) but the 5:30 one is usually fast... maybe 15 minutes including diaper change?

Been keeping up with you all, but by the time I get through all your posts and am ready to post myself, A needs feeding again:dohh:

Well done on all the weight loss, lads!
Emera, you look AWESOME!!! :happydance:
I've lost 19 lb (1.5 stone for you UK ladies, I think, if I did the math right), and have another 10 to lose yet, but I'm feeling pretty good about how quickly my body seems to be returning to normal. Still jelly belly and stretchies, but at least it's much flatter than it was even a week ago!

Missy, so glad to hear you've had more success on the BFing front!

MW told me today that around 2 weeks (tomorrow!?!) is when tears and things are healed up down below and it's 'safe' to DTD, but that I can tell DH whatever I want to (i.e. "MW said it's not safe for another month' etc) about it. Haven't said anything yet, but he has this '6 weeks' timeline in his head, and I'm pretty comfortable with that for now.

Experienced mums, how long until these hormones subside and things are back to normal? I would like to be able to discuss sensitive issues without bawling my eyes out....:haha::haha::haha::haha::haha:

Ok so I've just about had enough today!!! Everytime bub is awake today he is crying and straining like his trying to poop. He keeps waking from a deep sleep to strain and cry again. He is pooing completely fine it's just like he is trying when he doesn't need to or something.. His normally like this just in the evening but it's getting worse and today it seems to be all day long! I want my happy baby back.. I hate seeing him like this.. Any ideas what's going on and how I can help? Tried tummy rubbing in clockwise motion, warm bath and movin legs and it helps for like a second then his grumpy and straining again... Also he takes infants friend with every feed to help with wind and vomitting.

Great weight loss everyone!!!

Crowned...my hormones and random crying eased up.at about 2 weeks but still a little more emotional than usual

Well my little girl was fab last night...after a bit of a grouchy evening...not sure why:cloud9:...the swing sent her to sleep for an hour or so from 9:30-10:30pm. Took.her upstairs changed and fed and down at just after 11pm. She slept til 4:45!!!! She had a 10-15 min feed...ws going to change and feed from other boob.but she passed out and looked content so i.put her back in basket...now its 8am and she is still asleep!!!! Feel a lttle bad cos god knows whats in her nappy but she seems fine :happydance:
She may be stirring but has done that a couple of times in last hour then dozed off again.

I do love sleep....good girl M.

Hope we get details from mouse today...who.else still to come across....kel? Vitfa? Widger?

It's taken me 4 feeds to catch up!!!!!

Congratulations Rashy on the arrival of babymouselet G. Can I say again how impressed I am with your dedication to updating this thread? If I'd had access to my phone at 9cm dilated I think I would have been flinging it at the wall, not updating a thread!!! :haha:

Visitors? Well, I'm technically a visitor at my mums house, so I can't really comment, but I tend to be a bit selfish and just whip D and myself up to our bedroom if I want some quiet time. However it can be useful to hand her to Gran whilst I try and grab a nap!!

Oh my, there was a million things I wanted to comment on, but like I said, I've been catching up since 10pm last night and have forgot everything

I had some great news last night. My best friends who have been ttc since June 2010 and were starting ivf this summer have fallen pregnant naturally. I'm over the moon for them and feels so deserving for them :cloud9:

D had a better more settled evening, and got up twice in the night at 3.30 and 6.30, but let's see what today brings...

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Gah. She just started screaming...

Gah! I really don't like cluster feeding! A would only settle on the boob or on me last night so no sleep until 4am. Gave her to DH and had to be woken up 4 times between then and now. Gah! I am still asleep.

Laura....big:hugs:..hope you get some sleep x x

Well M finally woke and had a massive feed at 8:30-45ish......but then promptly threww it back over me 20 mins later....... I now know how much she gets from one boob in 15 mins and its ALOT!!!!! Poor mite was covered:dohh:....she is now snoozing happily...strangely didnt want more.

Have managed to get a shower...now to dry hair...put some slap on...off out for lunch.with nct girls at 12:happydance:
Have a great Wednesday ladied....

P.s. Loo did you say happy tuesday? You have lost a day....hope D has settled x

Oh lads...I'm with you if you still feel asleep... N fed every 2 hours for 30mins from 10pm until 2 when he decided it was wake time :)nope:) til 5am then fed at 6am and we had a delivery of a ton of topsoil at 7.30am when I had just gotten to sleep. And its snowing. Gah. And now he's fast asleep and I'm so rubbish at going to bed when he's sleeping. Instead I've sterilised the boob pump and going to give it a go... :holly:

Baby mouselet - welcome to the thread! xxx

I hear you Laurac, I only got two hours because MrC took her downstairs in the sling at 2am.

Just popping on to say, 'Good morning!' and 'Congratulations Mouse!!!'

Off again as Tescos is due any minute. They'd better hurry up, I need my coffee!

Y'all are my late night/early morning feeding entertainment. :hugs:

Missy, My boys also seem to sense dinner coming out of the oven. The other day I managed to tandem feed while propping a plate of pizza on a pillow so I could munch while they munched. It worked out beautifully until I realized I'd run out of hands for burping duty. This led to a nasty bout of vom running down my belly bc I left Baby P too long.

Waula, as tiring as twins are to care for, I think the mummies with a newborn and a toddler are the heroes. At least my boys both have the same needs.

Loo, great news about your ttc friend!

Regarding the hormones... I think 3 weeks is when i felt like they'd finally flushed through my system.

Well... times up I have another baby calling me so I have to relinquish my typing hand. Hugs all around. Im keeping uneven though I don't respond to much.

MORNING MAMAS!

well last night and so far today the feeds were midnight, 3am, 7am and 11am... so perfect really :happydance: YAY - lets have another night like that please George... plus he settled in crib with no co-sleep first ;)

Of course, after a lovely night George decided he had to poo on mummy just after she took his nappy off... :dohh: Balancing it all out i guess :haha:

Just had MW round to do checks and she said he is doing great - and is very long! must be why i always measured ahead so far on fundal  still waiting for cord to come off - she thinks will be a couple of days away yet x

she said im doing great esp as stopped pain killers a while ago.... i got told off for sitting up by doing a tummy squat tho.... oops

right... couple of questions...

taking george out and about tomo for first time to be registered, bit of shopping etc - breastfeeding mums..... how are u feeding when out?

A. Just whip it out and do it
B. formula bottle
c. expressed milk bottle
d. i dont go out

just looking for a bit of help on how to do it in public :)

and second question..... ive forgotten what it was :dohh: it will come to me.

''My name is Firsttimer1.... and im a possesive mummy.''

honestly  my sister is currently holding George and inside im screaming ''me, me, me, my turn!''

she can have him at 3am though.

in other news.... got on scales after being disheartened straight after birth and i have 12 pounds to go till back at pre-preg weight  But of course, i had weight to lose anyway... about a stones worth! :dohh: :haha:

FT- I try to plan going out around feeding. I'll feed him just before we go somewhere and if I need to feed him while out I'll do it in the car. If it came to it I'd try find somewhere private and throw a rug over bub.. So far we haven't needed to feed whilst out though!

FT I'm possessive too! ;) and I'm definitely an A breastfeeder, whip it out and do it, quicker boob gets in mouth the quicker people stop looking at the screaming baby! I just always wear a pretty scarf or something with my outfit and suitable tops and then once we are all latched on drape scarf over babies head, no one even notices. I've had people come over and ask to see baby before (lunars, but hey!) And had to say no sorry they are feeding :haha: I mean it with my advice to practice infront of a mirror, you'll gain loads of confidence! :)

I'm up to page 52! stop posting ladies so I can catch up!! FT I read your birthstory big :hugs: I'm sorry it was so stressful and traumatic.I can't imagine how it must have felt. I know everyones different but I found talking over and over and over it with my hubbie (no doubt driving him mad) helped me get my head round having to have a c section -although I know it was best for both of us it was such a shock to not have any control over my birth.

Love hearing how everyone is doing.

Ft if you google Bf friendly shops you should be able to find bf places such as mothercare, debenhams, boots, asda, tesco,M&s where you can feed if your not feeling ready to whip it out!:haha: I bought some big long scarves from River island and i draped them over Seth.It gets easier after that 'first time'!

Omg! Doubt anyone will remember, but my best friend had a miscarriage when I was about 20 weeks preg this time (her girl is Roh's age) anyway she told me she was pregnant again when I saw her last week and her dating scan was yesterday. I've been worrying as. Hadn't heard from her. Anyway she just called in floods of tears and I was all ready to get upset, but turns out she's freaking because she's carrying twins!!! Weeee!! How exciting! :D had a little cry with her, I think she's in total shock!

I generally feed before we go out, so far I've only been out with her one when hunger struck in public and the store had a nursing room. I think I need to practice in front of a mirror because I'm a little worried about BF in public!

Edit - that is great news Emera! Congrats to your friend!
