March Mamas 2012 Baby Group (Closed Group)

F a bit more setttled today. Managed to put her down for a bit at least.

Glad F is a bit more settled for you Emera. :hugs:

Thanks for the offer Vitfa, that's so kind of you. I'm going to go to boots tomorrow to try and find it there though, so hopefully I'll be able to get some.

Waula. She keeps drawing her knees up and pushing down so I'm guessing it is wind. Tried the massage again but nothing.

Think we are in for a long night. Just given her a bath which she usually loves, but not tonight.

Night lads

Loo - I wish I could help you :hugs: once the girls have gone we can have a meet up. I've been really teary too so we can have a good cry together :winkwink:

Aww I wish I could meet up and cry too!

Waula the shower is ace. He loved it. Put his face I'm the water and everything. Oh lovers it too. Its their thing now.

Went to visit my friend and her tiny new 5 day old baba today. I also helped her to bf which I've not done for ages and I feel so much more confident on the last week. I think this will help my job so much. She text me afterwards to say I had helped her feel more confident again. Felt ace.

T is pukey today. My clean bedding has sick on it. Yuk.

Oooh and I drove for the first time today. Left T for 45 minutes with oh while I went to mother care and bought some new bras. Was odd

Oh Loo! ((Hugs)). Hope you get her all sorted out soon!

We took a family trip to the store today. I fed her before I left but I knew she wasn't done.. She was working on a poop so I pumped and brought a bottle with us. As soon as we got there I heard the loudest trump ever! Sure enough she wanted to eat again! Lol. Oh well, at least I was prepared.

That 5 words baby say thing has been such a blessing, it almost makes this easy. I used to just change and feed everytime she cried but now I know what is really making her cry.

We are going to church tomorrow for the first time with her. Should be interesting lol!

I tried replying earlier but lost it :dohh:

Loo - Daniel was a very windy baby too. Gripewater helped him, he used to projectile vomit infacol. It turned out he had reflux so when he was about a month old I went to doctors beside myself as is tried everything and they gave me infant gaviscon. I didn't use much as it ended up giving him constipation :dohh: I also had his mattress slightly raised as realised he was mostly upset at night (during day upright more in bouncer or being held). Massaging helped too. It's such a learning curve and their tummies are so sensitive. I would say he was about 4 months old when things just suddenly changed for the better. I'm not saying it was always bad for 4 months, we had good and bad days. But massive improvement.

Lozza - well done on public outing. I think everyone should try when somebody else with you at least once as soon as you can. It's a bit like the constipation issue, the fear of doing it is actually worse than doing it. Saying that, not quite sure how to manage it with toddler in tow?

Laura - sounds like doing right thing using cool boiled water and cotton wool. I'd give it a few days and see how it gets on

E - glad f more settled

Well I appear to have gone from D the most wide awake baby in the world to B who is the world's sleepiest baby. I think I only saw his eyes open briefly today. He's feeding well and my boobs are less sore than yesterday when milk came in. Last night I was up from 1am to 5am which was improvement on night before, 10.30 to 4am. Tonight fed him at 11pm, down for 12, had him in bed with me and slept till 3am (thought I'd try one big sleep and it is most I've slept in a week!!

Will hopefully have to wake him up at 6 and will try Moses basket.... Will let you know how I go. Anyone else out there with very sleepy baby?

Chance would be a fine thing Widger:haha: actually D has always been better at night. Tends to wake up once or twice. I've probably cursed that now!!! :haha:

Glow, meeting up for a cry sounds great!! :haha:

Well, 9 hours of screaming allowed her to sleep for 5.5 hours which I'm grateful for. For past half a day or so she has been a bit crap at latching on. She is mucking about just smacking her lips together round my nipple, but she won't latch on for a minute. Was wondering if the infacol in her mouth was making it too slippy. Who knows

Oh my god, why the heck won't she latch on!!!!!!!!! So frustrating! She obviously wore herself out last night because usually she feeds for 30 mins and I can't get more than 10 mins out of her now. She's fast asleep again. That small amount can't even have touched the sides. Bah

Loo don't stress yourself out. My little man only feeds for 10-15mins each time and he is gaining weight like mad! I'm sure she is fine! Maybe she is over feeding and she is getting a belly ache from too much?? Just a thought although I have no idea.. I just know if I feed B more then usual he gets worse and crys more because he is obviously too full.. Then I think gee im so silly for over feeding because I literally have to just wait it out and try to keep him calm as possible till he will finally settle.

Widger- B was a really sleepy baby at first and probably still is. For example he slept nearly all day yesterday only waking for feeds.. But then durin the night he was awake for 2.5 hours!! So frustrating!! But he will occasionally have an awake period but generally he sleeps.

Skadi- that baby speaking thing hasn't really worked for me.. He was 'nuh-ing' at me last night after I fed him and I assumed right his still hungry.. The result was an over full baby who wouldn't settle.. Maybe he just thought he was still hungry..?? I dunno.. The hard thing is B doesn't really cry so much.. He grunts and groans an whimpers but we have only experienced a full on cry maybe twice.. So maybe he is harder to read.. Or maybe I just don't get the sounds or something...

Missy- I agree with the shower with baby being good! B just loves having a shower and it's easier then the bath! He tries to grab the water and he also drinks it too it's so cute!! Saying that he does enjoy the bath too!! I gave him one the other day for the first time by myself! Was pretty proud!! As soon as I put him in the water he started kicking and smiling at me!! He's just adorable!!!

Hope your all having a wonderful Easter.. Or have a nice easter (pretty sure were ahead of you guys here in Australia) I loved being easter bunny!!

Just realized when i read that back that I made it sound like B never cries.. He cries a lot just not hysterical.. And rather then cry he gets angry and grunts at me.. It's sad cause his upset but it's cute at the same time because his little arms go up and down like his marching or something lol!!

So for the first time since the hospital, I had to wake B up for feeds :yipee: I know possibly one off, but I'll take it. At least means my milk is in and satisfying him... I hope.

Wouldluv - B has a great set of lungs on him already. I certainly know when he's crying :haha: enjoy the grunts... He will probably start it again when he's a teenager

Loo - D would be awake during the day, I thought all newborns were supposed to be sleepy, how wrong was I? Dummy helped him a lot, gripewater. I only manage 10 mins if that per boob with B. D would be stuck on for ages, although he did have poor latch because he was tongue tied. If all else fails, blame it on a growth spurt. D used to have lots of those :haha:

Wow wouldluv - can't believe B is over a month old already!!! It doesn't seem that long ago you were eating the aubergine meal

Wouldlov - sounds exactly like N - grunts and growls rather than cries....also does the "marching" thing - I call it the chinese lucky cat impression...!

Happy easter lads. Not a bad nght here F woke me up twice. Fun so far this morning, Roh threw a wobbler as I stopped him eating a whole Lindt bunny for breakfast (it wasn't even his!) And then the dog stole his pancake :dohh:

I know!! I can't believe it's been a month!!! Just madness!!! I feel like the whole pregnancy and last month has been a blur but when I was pregnant it certainly wasn't lol!!! I actually already feel like I could do it again (after saying defnetly not when pregnant lol, even had a d&m with hubby asking if he'd be ok with only 1 baby as I hated being pregnant) lucky I've already taken a million picture as my little mans changing SO much every day!!!

Waula- the marching is cute hey!! :)
