Maternity Allowance

Hello Ladies

Any ladies here applied for maternity allowance and it taken forever to get a reply, got my reply last week after sending it off 4 weeks ago with how much I am getting and I've sent the reply off but I'm guessing the process will take just a long once I've sent it all back? got under 5 weeks until this baby is due and we cannot just live off my partners wages until then!

Anyone else know how long it can take once the form is completed and returned? Just fed up of not having the extra income specially when we have 3 year old nursery fees and other bills to pay for.

Didn't want to read and run- call them up and ask where it is, they were very quick to send me a letter saying I wasn't entitled to a penny (about a week) so I would take it as good news and call them to check the status of it x

Not personally but my friend had a big trouble with them, but it was her employers because they kept forgetting to send something away, it did get sorted evenutally but it needed nagging from her to both her boss and then to the people she phoned on the other end because they were slow as well but it did all get sorted! I recomend phoning up, make sure your boss defo did their part though

Been waiting over 11 weeks now and still don't know when they're going to pay anything. I know I included all my payslips, Mat B1, son's birth certificate... going to be a lovely lump sum when they finally sort it out!

^^^ I'd chase it, as they will only backdate three months.

With mine, I sent it off when I sent it off with my MATB and I got a reply within month saying I would be eligible, but to confirm when I started maternity leave. Once I had started maternity leave I filled in the form to state that I had started maternity leave and I got a letter stating my payment schedule around a two weeks later.

defo chase it up, i ended up having my LB 2 weeks early, so went like 3 weeks without my wage

I know this is an older thread but how long did it take in the end?
I sent mine off 4 weeks ago and haven't heard anything back yet, starting to struggle!

14 weeks we waited from sending in the form, they backdate further if they had the form, so I ended up getting £1800 as a backpayment! That's not the answer you wanted to hear though. If you call up they gave me an idea of when they'd look at it, but they also were very firm that I couldn't queue jump no matter how broke their delay made me.

They must have read my message I posted on here last night! 😂
Woke up to a text this morning saying it's been awarded and the money will be in my bank in 5-10 days.
So strange how it takes so long for some people and not for others!
