Sorry your having breast feeding problems I hope it gets easier for you :hugs:

As for me I have a baby who is a bit constipated. Poor girl otherwise all is fine here :D

Fleur - Happy 2 weeks old to Arthur :cloud9:

Magic - I hope Ella's constipation eases up soon, have you tried giving her a little cooled boiled water?

fleur, well he take a soother? Or a bottle of pumped milk? I know they say wait until 6 weeks to introduce, but everyone I know of that waits has a baby that rejects both. if his latch is good, it won't hurt to try. miss J wants to nurse constantly, but doesn't know how to comfort nurse, so she ends up puking. if it's been less than an hour since I fed her, I give her a soother, and she's usually content with that. I also give her a bottle of pumped milk every few days to make sure she WILL take one. she's not had any problems going back and forth.

I tried cool boiled water and it helped a bit so i will give her some more :D

Is there anything i can give her for trapped gas? The midwife wasnt helpful on that one

gripe water, simethicone drops or suspension can help gassy babies :)

I'm pretty sure right now he's going through a growth spurt (he has overgrown twoof his pajamas in the past few days! already!), so maybe not the best time to introduce a soother, considering he's a very tiny baby :haha:
I can't wait for it to be over, all day today he has fought to stay awake and he is so exhausted he gets angry for no reason.

A constipated little girl here too. Tried an ounce of cooled boiled water and she did a little poo last night so hoping that will start the ball rolling.

Hope these babies start pooing

Noah is one week old today! His cord is about to drop off! And I'm very screamish about it!

Starting my diet today too! xx

Lexi's dropped off at 5 days and I did have a hmmmm what do I do with it now moment :D

Decided on sticking it in with a nappy and popping it in the bin after googling and reading about a lady who put it aside to show her OH only to find the dog eating it a few minutes later.

Retch!!

Magic - I'm glad to hear that the cooled boiled water helped a little :)

Hannah - Happy 1 week old to Noah. Jayden's cord fell off at 6 days old :cloud9:

Managed to express properly for the first time!
3oz, which I'm quite proud of :haha:!

Happy 1 week Noah :)

i had no warning signs of O'd cord falling off i literally un popped his babygrow and there it was staring at me que me freaking out shouting hubby to come and move it lol!

I need help, i cant decide on what to do regards feeding, up until monday gone he was EBF but for one reason and another i decided to introduce a bottle so to combi feed in the space of 5 days hes become very unsettled struggling to poop at times struggling to get off to sleep normally he would feed and fall asleep straight away (i think i was his comfort) since combi feeding hes been getting more formula than breastmilk (ive been expressing as much as i can) the only time he settles is if hes been breastfed, im fighting with mysself do i go back to EBF (main reason i decided to change was because i felt DD was getting very pushed out becuase i was constantly with him and couldnt do as much with her plus his feed times as in long feeds would always be around the time i need to get her ready for nursery were as bottles were quicker) or do i switch to FF full time my worry about this is DD ended up with really bad silent reflux milk intolerance etc and i always and still do feel guilty for giving in BF her im scared the same will happen and he seems so much more unsettled on formula.............sorry i know its proberbly all garbled I just really dont know what to do, im sat here fighting with myself with regards to what to do

Hey everyone I can't believe my little Austin is almost 4 weeks old. Time is flying by far too quickly and I'm already doubting myself that he's my last baby. So far he's a fantastic baby except that he still wants to eat every 3ish hours including at night so I am beyond exhausted all the time. He doesn't really cry or even fuss. His let down initial suck is really hard and my nipples are atill sore for the first minute or so of fb but we are getting through. I haven't introduced a bottle yet but probably will in the next few weeks. He's the snuggliest baby and I hold him all the time :)

rosie, maybe try a new formula? I know many babies get constipated on formulas with iron. Also, I've heard that breastfeeding gets easier after the 6 week mark. might be worth trying to stick it out and see how it goes? Its a tough call, really. At the end of the day, you have to do whats best for everyone. :hugs: hope you can find a solution that makes everyone happy

To anyone with a constipated baby we have found the cure!

I read that the ready made formula can have a laxative effect after 3 days with only 1 little play dough poo I gave her 1 x 3oz bottle of ready made Aptamil, 20 mins later she did a massive normal runny consistency poo.

She is so much happier and I can't believe how happy I was to clean up poo :D

i think the decision has been made for me, decided to BF, top up with formula until supply built back up but LO couldnt latch properly and struggled to get anything and started getting really frustrated, so weve made decision to ff now ill use up what i have expressed and go on to fully FF i know it will be easier in the long run especially as DD is feeling very pushed out by me at the min shes been so used to having my 100 per cent attention to pretty much very little this way on my mums days off i can ask her to have O for an hour or so to let me spend some quality time with DD.

Feel very sad that my BF days are over but I know it will work out for the best......hopefully

Stargazing, it makes me feel very sad knowing he will be my last really wish i could keep him this small forever! especially knowing how fast it goes!

Ive just not long got back from the walk in DR's, ive managed to get an infection in my c section wound so course of antibiotics for me!

How long are your babies staying awake for out of interest? O seems to wake feed change and back to sleep he lasts pretty much 45 mins to an hour at the min!x
