Anyone else had/having IUI this month, May 2012? Would like to hear others experiences!

Hey Sunup!!!!! I have been on clomid this month, I go back Friday for my u/s to see what follicles I have. I am expecting to do iui at the beginning of next week! When will you have yours?? Is this your first? I had one last month but it was the first cycle after my lap (stage 3 endo) & hysteroscopy (2 fibroids) and got bfn!!! Good luck! Looking forward to waiting this out with you!!!! :)

hey guys i had my 2nd iui on monday currently in the dreaded two week wait

good luck to you both

I had my second iui this past Saturday, so now I am 5 dpiui. Everything went smoothly this time. My first iui wasn't so great because it took them a while to get the catheter in.

I'm having an IUI in May. I'm on cycle day 3 and will most likely do the IUI in about 10 days or so. I'm doing injections this month. I don't respond to Clomid. I only ever get 1 mature follicle. I hope I get more this time. I go in on Monday to check follicle development.

I had IUI number 2 yesterday.

Frustrated20 - that is interesting. I've only had 1 mature follicle both times on clomid as well (1 tablet each day the first time and 1.5 this time). They did mention that if IUI failed this time they would look at putting my on injections instead.

Hey! I took the trigger tonight, and I am having IUI both Saturday and Sunday. I took 50mg clomid this cycle, days 4-8. I am so excited, this is my first IUI so I am nervous.

Yay Sunup! We are on a similar schedule this cycle! I triggered today at my appt and will go in for iui tomorrow! Good luck, keep us posted with how are you feeling!!

So I just had my first one today - :)
It was so fast!
So, TMI, but...
I went in, undressed, they put in the speculum and catheter and then removed both, and then I stayed lying for 5 minutes, got dressed and left!! I barely felt anything! I mean the speculum was only in for about 30 seconds MAX, and that was it! I go back in the AM for IUI 2 and then test in 2 weeks.

Yay!! Glad the first iui was easy for you SunUp!! Hope #2 goes off without a hitch too.

My iui today was a little more painful, but nothing worse than AF craps for a few minutes. My RE had a problem getting the catheter into my uterus.

I am curious, have your doctors put you on progesterone supplements after iui?? I have spotting before AF but my progesterone levels are always fine 7 dpo. I am wondering if my levels drop off some after I have blood drawn.

Yes, I start prometrium monday, 2 times a day for (HOPEFULLY) a while... or until AF (which I hope does not show...) And as far as I know all of my blood levels have been fine... my RE gives it to almost all IUI patients.

almost a week since my 2nd iui and no symptoms don't know if that is a good thing or bad thing with my 1st iui had loads of symptoms

Purplesparkle, although its only been a day since my 2nd iui I have no symptoms either. Last cycle I did the same protocol and my oops were killing me by this time! Still nothing!!! Starting to worry that the trigger didn't work and I haven't ovulated yet... Good luck!!

Hey ladies! I hope I can join.

I will be having my second IUI towards the end of the month. I was on birth control pills this last cycle due to a cyst. I stopped taking them 5 days ago so now I'm just waiting for AF to get here which should be very soon since I am having some spotting today. I will also be trying clomid for the first time. Good luck to all of you!

Hi Ladies, I was hoping I could join.

I am on my second round of Clomid with an IUI. I am on day 3 of clomid and will have an IUI toward the end of the month.

I was wondering if all you ladies get ultrasounds to see follicles? I had my first IUI in April and ovulated on my own but my doctor never mentioned anything about an ultrasound. Is this only if you dont ovulate?

One other thing...do many of you go when you first see an LH surge or do you go the day after? What is best?

Good Luck to you all!!

I'm starting clomid (100 mg) today and then am going back into my RE to get an ultrasound on May 23rd. I think at that point she will give me the trigger shot to ovulate and then I come back in the next day to get my first IUI. I'm really nervous, excited, anxious, etc.

Hi believe2012! I think you should be monitored by ultrasound while in clomid especially when doing an iui too. I have been ovulating on my own since coming off BC but have always been in for an u/s on day 3 of my cycle and then again in the middle (around day 12). Clomid can cause the uterine lining to thin and also can produce cysts, both of which can only be seen (monitored) by u/s. Also, at the midcycle u/s your doctor will be able to see if the clomid is working properly. The follicles you have produced will be measured and counted and they will note the thickness if the uterine lining. Without this step it's hard to be sure that clomid is doing its job.

I have heard that some women go in the day after they get a positive on opk for the iui. My doctor monitors by u/s so I am not 100%sure about the process for opk. My last two cycles I have had the trigger shot after my 2nd u/s, they don't want to trigger you too early (follicles will be too small) or too late (miss the follicles entirely).

Hope that all makes sense!?

Are you being seen by your ob or re??

Hey believe, my RE said ultrasound was a lot better than OPKs, as u/s will give you a definite and let them know exactly how Clomid is affecting you. They measure the follicles and based on that they time your trigger shot. I went in for my first sono on CD 12, then again CD14 and CD15 , on CD15 they said to do the trigger shot and I had back to back IUIs CD16 and CD17. The only thing about not doing U/S is that OPKs are cheaper and you don't have to go in for as many sonos. I wonder if the first cycle they don't have patients come in as much... and if it doesn't work the first time then do ultrasounds?

I am cycle day 3 today and started clomid again days 3-7. Then IUI when I O. Im nervous. We have been trying for 3 1/2 years i did clomid for 3 months and got nothing. i had 2 months off. now i started up again. Good luck everyone
