~*May Miracles 2020*~

Love the cake Ellie!

Stuckinoki I'm sorry you and hubs aren't in agreement at the moment. It's hard to budget sometimes! Where we are in the south of England it's more expensive than the North, so we still only rent and of course it always goes up every so often. We are both in work and I will get a good matnerity pay package but it will obviously be less than my usual pay. So money will be a bit tighter for us too. I think if you put your mind to it you can really find ways of saving money.

@stuckinoki i didn’t realize you were in the DC area, I am too but we live out in Prince William County. My husband only has to go as far as Fairfax for his work so it’s not a bad commute and definitely cheaper out this way but we would be hurting if we had to live in closer to the city. I get it about the budget, I really hate not being able to just buy stuff that I want. I mean I’m not super spendy and I do consignment shopping a lot but my husband would buy absolutely nothing except practical purchases whereas I like to be able to get us nice things. It’s a tough area to be in.

Super tired over here, mixture of first tri + the world’s longest never ending cold. Was kind of dizzy and shaky on our walk this morning so now we are sitting on the couch watching Mother Goose Club. Such a nice change from my last pregnancy where I was working full time teaching and could never take a break when I wasn’t feeling well.

Having lots of very mild uterine cramps and twinges since yesterday. Normal right? I tend to get very anxious so I hate honestly feeling anything that could be bad. But no bleeding and it’s very mild so I’m hoping it’s just stretching and growing.

Symphony7, yes! Completely normal. We are fairly close in gestation and I’ve been having period like cramps. Some of them have been pretty intense and some have just been twinges. I wouldn’t worry too much about them❤️

Yes I had some cramps like that in week 4 but they eased off after about a week :)

Just came from our first ultrasound. Due date was pushed up from May 4 to May 8, guess I ovulated later than expected! We got to hear the heartbeat. Pretty surreal! It is hard to be super excited through the nausea though  I wish I would just stay in for a few days.

Thank you ladies! I’m feeling reassured. I don’t think I remember the first few weeks with M so it all feels new again.

Anyone else feel like their period is going to start any minute? I almost keep forgetting I’m pregnant, and o go to pee and fully expect af to be here

Cnote that's amazing! I bet it was awesome to hear the heartbeat!

I've had nausea most of the day, then I get home and start doing some stuff around the house and realise I don't feel sick. I've had my supper and I'm chilling in front of the TV expecting the nausea to come back. Don't get me wrong it's lovely to have a break from it! But at the same time it's slightly unnerving. I've no pain or anything else that would be concerning tho so I'm sure the nausea will be back tomorrow lol

I’m glad you had a nausea free day Jary, enjoy it while it lasts! I say now that I wish I could have a day off like that but I know it would unnerve me too

My ms picked it up a notch yesterday. I was sick twice randomly through the day and at night was too nauseas to eat. Before pregnancy I was drinking flavoured water with extra nutrients added but now I cannot stomach the taste or even the smell

Sorry the MS has gotten worse :( but baby is clearly doing really well!! I hope you get a respite from it soon. I think mine will creep back today but it was nice to have a break.

Oh my gosh, my ticker of 8 weeks looks like a duck-billed-platypus :lol::lol::lol::lol:

Scan was OK. Couldn't see fetal pole but yolk sac is there, might be too early. Going back next week.
Another fluid filled sac seen which could be a small bleed or could have been a failed second sac.
Bleed and pain not coming from sac so if next week goes OK I think we might be alright!

cnote, that's great for the scan!

I'm glad to read other people have those cramps too! I've been having them and I was worried.

Jary its good you had a day without nausea!

Aphy, I'm sorry about MS picking up! :hugs:

Katy, I hope you get more good news :hugs: When do you go back next week?

I have my second beta this afternoon. I haven't had blood again, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed it was just one of those things!

951A180A-1751-4679-99F4-8DEBBF8FDC12.jpeg KatyR, it depends on their machine capabilities as well, I wouldn’t panic, seeing the sac is a great sign! With my #2 baby, we were right around the same gestation and only saw sac, the next week there was baby and heartbeat like BAM! It’s a big jump in the week or so for what you can see on US. Plus, most doctors offices have very basic, older machines and they’re not nearly as powerful as the big clinics or hospitals ❤️

Symphony7, yay! We are right by old towne Alexandria, moved here in June but am wishing we had moved further out and just made my husband travel farther for work. It’s so expensive here (I grew up on the md side of DC so I kind of blindly just picked a place to live before we moved) it’s pretty here though, I’m always shocked at how many little parks and trails run through a bustling city.

Hope everyone has a good nausea free day! It at least as nausea free as possible, I’m currently dealing with the opposite of nausea (sorry....) I had forgotten about the gastrointestinal upsets of early pregnancy, I’d rather be constipated I think

Since this is going to be our 4th baby and life is sort of crazy, I’m working on a family planning board to keep track of appointments, budgets and activities etc. it will be good for me because scheduling is sometimes crazy in our house; next week I’ve got 4 various appointments and I’m hoping this will help us be more organized I’m still waiting on my white erase calendar and 2 more little white boards

.

4 weeks today! Seems so strange for some reason, like I knew I was pregnant but wasn’t really until today. On Saturday I will have known already for a week.

Bought what I have decided will be my last box of pregnancy tests as they look nice and dark and I don’t think they can tell me anything else.

So jealous of all your early scans! I had a 6 week one with M but am switching practices and this new one doesn’t do one until 8 weeks. I’ll be 8+4 when I get mine done so it feels like an eternity to wait!

Some small amount of nausea has started already, it’s manageable I hope it stays like this. I was SO sick with M for so long I am praying I’m not that sick again. Also wiped out all day every day! Cramping stopped yesterday and otherwise I feel pretty normal and good.

I had a wonderful scan today! Baby has a good heartbeat and is measuring to my ovulation date. We are so excited and happy now that that first hurdle is over.
Because it was done by a private clinic (for free!), we got to take videos and photos and it was so amazing that my favourite nurse did it. For those who joined after I explained, our first was IVF and, even though our second and this one were both natural miracles, we stayed in touch with the clinic so they immediately offered us viability scans for free. In exchange of sorts, I do TV, radio etc things for them. I’ve been on BBC Panorama and several local news programs. My nurse is amazing and makes me feel so safe. I wouldn’t want anyone else to give me the good or the bad news.

Symphony, if it makes you feel better, I won't have a scan until I'm 12 weeks!
ALSO, beautiful lines!

Ellie, what great news and amazing scan! I think it's great that you get to have these scans for free in exchange of you talking about the clinic. Especially since you seem to like the clinic! Yay for first good scan!

My 4weeks+4 beta was 202. I'm waiting for her to call back to tell me what today's beta is!

Waiting impatiently to hear your second results missie!

Beautiful scan pics Ellie!! Glad all is going well. I would love to have an early scan myself but can't really justify the money at the moment. I'd love to have that reassurance tho

She called! 425! It's roughly 44 hours doubling time. So we're good! Hoping that means good news for the rest of the pregnancy!
