May mummies 2009 - a place to keep in touch

Hi All
Glad I caught up with this thread as I haven't been online much since Sapphire was born. All is going well though. It's just sooooo cool isn't it? Despite the sleep deprivation and all that!!

 Hi Missy, yes its amazing and it only gets better :cloud9:

Violet is now reaching out towards us and towards toys altho she isn't grabbing them yet. She can almost roll all the way over on her right side too.

I cant believe how fast time is going! I want another one so much

Helllo May Mummies! Lol

Monkeh He is soooo cute!

Molly May is still in the hospital at the moment, she is in Great Ormond Street, she has to have her procedure done tomorrow, (They are going to put a cathether with something on the end of it through her main vein in her groin, and thread it through to her heart where they try to block the vessel)

How is everyone else?

I wondered where you all are.....hoorah, I have found you. How is everyone? x

Mama 1985..........sorry I haven't been on since I had Benjamin. What is wrong with Molly May? x

Aww hope the procedure goes well for Molly May x

We had the heart scan date through this morning for Violet.. It's next Tuesday. I'm feeling really nervous now that I actually have a date lol
She seems to be fine tho, so even if they do find something I'm not expecting it to be "serious"...... I hope :sad1:

aww i hope everything goes well for molly may and for violets heart scan. seems a lot of us have various appointments and things with our young babies. I got a consultation with the surgeon for zach tomorrow. OH cant get time off work so have to go alone :-(

welcome back all the may mummies who have finally found us. good to have you back. how are you and your LO's doing?

Hey! She has PDA Persitent Artieral Duct, when she was in the womb she had a vessel connecting her heart and lungs, and when she was born its supposed to close but it hasnt so its still mixing her oxgynated and non oxgynated blood together which is making her heart work harder

sghe is ok, she is having her procedure tomorrow to block it!

Good Luck Molly May and Violet xx

Aw yeah it does seem like alot of us are having appointments with our LOs. :( Hope everything goes well for everyone :)

Dexter was up giving a urine sample the other day, but doesn't have to go back to hosp til October for bloods, then January for a consultation with a specialist and 2 surgeons. Thankfully he won't have an op til he's 15-18 months old.

we have our consultation with surgeon today....i can let you know what to expect monkeh
xx

Do you know when they're planning on doing Zachary's surgery? With Dexter, they said his surgery should be done and healed by the time he's out of nappies :)

Just had a thought the other day - I think he'll be circumcised during surgery :( Gutted, but at least it's for medical purposes.

anyone got any tips for getting vaccinations? Alex is getting his tomorrow.

AG calpol hour before injections and lots of cuddles

Edit - when Alex gets bigger you can also give him the Ibruprofen Calpol but he has to be over 5kg. Oh and you might want to take tissues too - I balled my eyes out!

Gemma Lou so good to see you back....I was wondering where you had gone and what you had...now I know, a boy. Congrats Hunny, he is lovely xx

monkeh...Dexter is so adorable xxx

Let him feed after and give some calpol afterwards.

It isn't so much that the injections hurt, it's the shock that causes them to cry (apparently), so if that's true, calpol before is pointless.

Good luck with all the scans and hospital appointments everyone! It seems there are quite a few of us.

spoke to the surgeon today and they are planning on doing the surgery when he is 9-12 months old. i have to go back when he is 9 months to see if he is big enough to undergo the operation. thats gonna be so hard to see my baby boy go through an op so young

yeh im pretty sure they will be circumcised during surgery. From what the surgeon was saying they will use that skin to create the new urethra so that it is longer. he said 90% of babies will only need one op but some develop scar tissue and things and will need further ops.
 to you and dexter

Hey everyone, Molly Mays procedure didnt work, they had to do surgerey to block it, it was done today, she is ok now! just waiting for her to wake up and then they can take the tube out
