I run a Boxer dog rescue.. Roma has been an awful cruelty case


we were called out a week ago by the dog wardens, roma was found in the middle of the woods, she had been used over and over again as a bait dog for a dog fighting ring, her wounds were so bad she had to have surgery, her leg was also broken in 3 places that it had to be amputated this week.

Roma is also heavily pregnant and is due to have pups anytime now.

Anyway thats the sad side to it I wont go into any more details..


We have found her a lovely foster home, she has settled in well and making a good recovery ..

She's only around 18 mths old and considering what she's been through her nature is fantastic !

Roma is beautiful, and I pray she ends up in a wonderful home.

Poor Roma for what she's been through - I can't say here what I think of the people who hurt her. It's so good that she's safe now, thank you for being there for her.

I suppose we don't know anything about the identity of the father of the pups?

If she's due to pop soon, do you mind if I make a guess as to number and sexes of pups? If you think it's inappropriate, let me know and I'll edit my post. Anyone want to join me? I reckon 5 pups, 4 boys and a girl. Random bonus guess - I think they'll be brown and white particolour.

Sunday afternoon Roma gave birth to 3 girls ..

After the 3rd pup Roma struggled for over 2.5 hrs without whelping, she was contracting well but to no avail it become clear there was a real problem so spoke with the vets & took Roma down to see them after an examination no pups in birth canal & irregular lumps were found so an X-ray to determine if any pups were in the womb before a c-section was carried out, on viewing the X-ray it was clear that a couple of pup's were still in her womb so c-section was necessary after over 4 hours since the last whelp of a pup, it was found during her operation that a dead pup was causing the blockage & without the c-section we would of lost the lives of Roma & her 3 other pup's as her womb had torn so while under she was spayed.

So we have 6 healthy white girlies & a fantastic mummy who the vets all fell in love with & were amazed how she has overcome all what has happened to her.
