Men b vaccine uk

Was notified by a nurse today that they have been informed that children born after 1/5 will receive the vaccine. Just wanted to share but also a little annoyed, ds3 was born 30/4 how frustrating...

You can pay privately. I'm getting the vaccine for all of my children.
My daughter died from Meningitis B, it's took a lot of fighting and campaigning to get this vaccine brought in, this vaccine will save thousands of lives.

It is frustrating to miss it but you can get it privately from September I think? From what I've looked at its probably going to be around £145. Money well spent IMO.

It's already available to buy privately, it's just a Bugger to get hold of.
The vaccine is called Bexsero x

Would that be £145 per jab? The clinic in my area is £170 per jab and looking at 2/3 jabs...

Push for it hun. If you have a particular gp you have a good relationship with them may let him in for the sake of one day! X

Suppose it doesn't hurt to ask lol... 😏 my step mum works as a receptionist at another doctors surgery..

It's always worth asking. Was going to cost me £2000 for my lot 🙈
Was just about to order it (not all at once I may add!) when Dr said to leave off Til was on nhs n he'd just order me it with our history.
So it's one less (big) headache to worry about but I hate knowing that they're not protected NOW x

Wow that's amazing your go did that. It's just really annoying they couldn't agree the price sooner.. Ds2 could of had it as well

I looked it up and in the US the men B vaccine isn't until 10 yo. I wonder why our babies wouldn't get it. :/

That's annoying would love my DS to of had it but can't afford to pay
