Metal/Rock/Alt Appreciation Group

I think my all time favourite bands have to be A perfect circle, Tool and Breed 77 :)

I used to be in a band, was the singer and guitarist!

I have to say I love Marilyn Manson's music... as well as Waking the Cadaver's ... and Cradle of Filth's...
!!! :)

Off of metal though, I love grunge. I'm a total NIRVANA and HOLE fan. Haha, yes I like both of them at once...
:)

omg!

well im a huge rammstein fan and today i saw their new video off the up coming album and:wacko:

im in shock lol for a start the songs called german p*ssy and the video is actual PORN and is being show on a porn website.

im very dissapointed i normaly love their vids but i dont need to see this much of them

Hello, can I join in please? Haven't seen this thread before.

I have quite diverse tastes, the bands probably mosted suited to this thread would be, in no particular order and not exhaustive:
Pearl Jam
Placebo
Muse
Metallica
Marilyn Manson
Various ska and ska punk

God my brain is so broken...I can't even think what bands I like but I like tonnes and tonnes! I prefer older stuff, right back to '80s cock rock but probably my hey day is '90s rock. I do like some new stuff, Linkin Park and Disturbed had good stuff at the start but I find it hard to take the former's boy band-ness seriously and when I was watching Scuzz the other day and saw that Disturbed had covered Genesis' 'Land of Confusion' that blew it for me! It wasn't even more metal! Now as it happens I like Genesis and even Phil Collins a bit (I said my tastes are diverse!) but I can't condone mixing that with metal!

I absolutely hate System of a Down and Papa Roach.

I like indie things too but more old school than today's emo. I'm not really up to date with what the kids are listening to these days...

OMG i hate soad to lol n my ex was in love with them it used to drive me nuts when he played their shite lol

It's Toxicity that particularly gets my goat but I can tell it's them when I don't know the songs because it fills me with an inexplicable nausea! lol

Ooh just found this thread! My alltime fave is Muse, also love Placebo, Reel Big Fish, Metallica, Less Than Jake, Smashing Pumpkins....that sorta thing.

:happydance:

I'm loving Muse at the moment, the new album is ace. And one of my best gigs was Reel Big Fish in Newcastle. You've got great taste kirsten!

wow just came accross this thread

i used to be really in cradle of filth, rammstein, carcass, and all old metal/rock too
so love muse - i saw them in one of there first gigs and have loved them ever since
I love love hole too and my lovely doggie is called courtney after courtney love - sad i know

oh i love loads of bands just cant think at the mo

I usually love Muse but I'm not too keen on their new album..

I really need some new bands to listen to, I havent updated my music collection in years lol

I'm finding myself going off death metal and I'm getting more and more into industrial metal. I just can't be doing with the growling anymore, I like hearing/understanding the lyrics

Problem I've always had with Ramstien and Cradle of Filth is I love the music but despise the vocals so I can't listen to it!

I love the new Muse album! I really enjoy all the references to older music like Queen and ELO.

yes i totally agree i think that muse's new album is not as good as the others and i also must admit that i have also grown away from the death metal bands

We getting Chloe a Metallica one and we got her a baby vest (see ticker pic) at OH and my first Metallica concert together. Chloe was a stowaway at our second concert!

I was 6 months pregnant when we went to see Metallica last, I'm sure Freya had fun! :)

Awwww :)

Chloe was only about 5 weeks old at a guess, I certainly enjoyed it so I am sure she did too through my happy hormones lol!

Hiya everyone, i only just found this thread. Cool!

I'm into most types of alternative music...very open minded and love taking my eldest daughter to gigs. She wanted me to take her to see MCR few years back which was cool. Not really a fan of theirs but they were pretty impressive live...though i was more blown away by the support act (MSI).

Have been listening to alot of NIN recently, my newest phase. Oh...and something called 'steampunk' which is the genre my OH's band is in.

I'm ttc at the mo, but have tickets to see Green Day next June, hopefully if i have got my BFP by then, I can still enjoy the gig with my bump.

I wanted to see Green Day this last time they toured but it was in October, pretty much near my due date so I didn't risk it.
