Molar and Partial Molar Pregnancy Support Group

Wanttobeamummy - I'm sorry for your loss. It is a scary time at first as the doctors don't really tell you anything and nobody else seems to have heard of a molar pregnancy. I too had a partial molar pregnancy in June of last year which was initially diagnosed as a missed miscarriage. It took about 10 weeks for my levels to fall to normal and then I was supposed to wait 6 months to try again. We started trying around the November time and I fell pregnant in the March - currently 32 weeks.
All the ladies on here have been an immense support to me in all that time and I hope we can all help you in some way too. Don't be afraid to ask any questions or vent on here. We know how you feel.

Vicki - I'm sorry your husband isn't being very sympathetic - I went through a phase like that with my OH - luckily it was just a phase so I hope you can work things out. x

Raff - how are you feeling? x

Hope everyone else is ok xx

Its not really unsympathetic. Its just him not wanting what i want when i want it.

Ok, it was darker this afternoon. Not dark enough, but hopefully it will only keep getting darker. My 4 year old asked me what the opk was i told him i peed on it. He said you peed on it, you idiot. It was so funny.

Thank you so much for the support already ladies, I'm in Australia, not too sure of the monitoring or my hcg levels I have to go back tomorrow so they can explain everything and do a blood test. I'm so angry at my doctor who said it was a missed miscarriage and no follow up needed :-( I guess he just isn't familiar with pmp. I feel like I could cope ok with it being a missed miscarriage but this is just a whole different thing, everytime I start to get on top of it all I slam into another brick wall :-(.

I'm really interested to see what monitoring you get told. Also in Australia, and was told 6 month wait after negative hcg level initially. My doc didn't know either but got a great specialist. We got to 15 weeks before diagnosed. But a positive side now is I'm 26.5 weeks with a healthy bub and due not long after we found out about the pmp. The weekly bloods are hard especially watching the numbers. Have fingers crossed that your levels drop quickly so you can go on monthlys. Good luck today xx

I was diagnosed Sept. last year at our 12 week ultrasound as having had a missed miscarriage. My midwife and I had heard the hearbeat just 2 weeks earlier via the doppler at my first prenatal appointment. I then had a follow up appointment 1 week after the D&C with my midwives--they said missed misscarriage as a molar pregnancy would have been discovered at the ultrasound, but to wait 3 cycles for things to "regulate" and heal--That appointment was on a Friday and then the following Monday they called to say the pathology results came back as PMP and to wait 1 year before trying again. With my levels dropping fairly quickly and on their own and with it being a partial rather than complete--DH and I went ahead and tried early--we fell pregnant with our Rainbow baby 5 1/2 months post d&c and our little man is due in just over 6 weeks. Its a long ride, but my DH reminded me at our last ultrasound on Friday that we were meant to have the baby I'm carrying now--and I'm sure he will be worth the wait. Just wish that I could have fast forwarded past all the time between diagnosis and testing etc. as that part is emotional and trying, but you will get thru it!!

Want2beamummy how did it go at the drs? Hope they explained something's for you. It's hard when you feel like this but as you learn about molars and start seeing your hcg things will become a little easier. So many emotions happen with a molar but we are all here to support you through.

Vicki how is your opk today?

Xxx

Lotte my lovely I just wanted to let you know your still in my thoughts everyday and ill be thinking of you tomorrow. Lots of love to you all xxxx

My lines were lighter today then yesterday. They were not dark enough to be positive yesterday. Just wait and keep testing. Nothing else i can do.

Just got back from my appointment they confirmed that it was a pmp and that i will be having weekly blood tests until they turn negative then go to monthly until the 6 months is up. I feel a bit more at ease knowing more about it all now, but nervous for the blood results for some reason ;(.

I would get nervous for the results each week--and for some reason my nurse would always just try to say--levels went down and I felt like I was prying information out of her to get the ACTUAL number. Hopefully your results come in quick so the waits aren't too long. My lab would sometimes have results in the same day in the afternoon!

Lotte---Love and thoughts for you and you family for the service tomorrow

The midwife just rang and my level is already down to 13! im so relieved! finally i can see the light, now hopefully next week is a negative :) im so grateful that they have dropped so fast! once your levels dropped how long before af returned? is the first one horrible? So glad i found you all, none of my friends have been through this, did you find that when you told your close friends what had happened they steered clear of you? i totally understand that they dont know what to say but i just feel like they have all disappeared

GREAT number!! I got my first AF about 21 days after my d&c--my hcg levels were just under 50 at that time. My first one was light and I thought it was just spotting TBH but then my next one came about 23 days after that and it was VERY heavy and I was away from home for a conference with work and was feeling kind of low at that point--but life carried on...

It was hard to find people that I was able to talk to in real life. My mom was overly concerned and more worried that I was, my co-workers seemed to shy away when I would try to talk about it, DH moved on way sooner than I did, so Baby and Bump was my retreat--specifically this thread since we have all be thru it on here!!

Lotte, thinking of you and your family today xxxx

Thank you all my lovelies. The service is at 4pm.

I hope everyone else is ok. I apologise for being mia recently. I am still thinking about you all. :hugs:

xx
