Molar and Partial Molar Pregnancy Support Group

Vegas - Grace is adorable. So is your dog; how gentle her eyes are! Glad you're healing well. I haven't made up my mind yet, but I'm considering to have an elective c-section. So hearing these makes me feel better...

Bevb - Miller is so sweet; talk about chubby cheeks :). Sorry your labor was bad. Hope you'll heal soon..

Vicki - Hope you and little Alana are doing great!

M2C - Your dogs are so cute. I'd love to have one but we live in an apartment block; not the best place to care for a dog :(

Dan-o - Glad you'll have an early scan; it sure will ease your mind...

AFM - My anatomy scan was pushed one week early so we got to see her 2 days in a row :). She was very cooperative so the whole thing took around 15 minutes (wished she was a little bit more naughtier)!
The doc said she is well developed according to her gestational age (20 w + a couple of days) and everything seemed OK. He was murmuring to himself all the time, listing all the parts/systems followed by "normal".
He said with my 1st trimester screening being low risk and the anatomy scan likewise, he wouldn't suggest an amnio or such. But if we were the anxious types and wanted to be 100% sure, we could go for it, my age being the only problematic thing in the equation!
So my heart says no, in fear we may lose her; but I've read many posts about babies considered low risk, being diagnosed with Downs Syndrome at birth. We'd love her no matter what of course, that's not the issue; but facilities for disabled people are really poor in Turkey so they don't lead very fulfilling lives unfortunately...
So we'll discuss with DH and also some of my friends who had babies recently and then decide what to do.
But so far so good. And she's kicking like crazy for the last couple of days. Even DH saw them and felt them when he put his hand! It's such a strange feeling!

Ece: you are still in your 30's, correct? The blood screenings are quite accurate and I really advise against something as invasive as amnio unless there is a reason. Also, I've know people who were told that their child would be born with Down's and he came out just fine. Your daughter is healthy and growing. Take comfort in the good news you have already received.

Also, if you do get the c-section I recommend the following: get up to walk as soon as they'll let you, about 12 hours after surgery. Make sure they put you on a good regime for pain killers and don't let them bring your meds late as you need to stay on top of the pain. Ask for anti-gas and stool softener meds as the surgery traps wind and the pain meds cause constipation which all equal more pain if you don't get treated for it. Ask for a corset and wear it. Walk, walk, walk. This is what I did and my recovery has been so much easier than last time.

Vegas i would also add dont do an elivtive c section. Only do it if medically needed. You heal so much faster with vaginal birth. I had issues of a rash around the scar on hotter days from almost 4 years ago.

Glad to hear all rainbow mummys are doing well with recovery! Enjoy these precious bundles of love xx

Ece, I think the stats here in Australia are - high risk still only gives a 5% chance of downs or t18. So 95 births in 100 are perfectly normal in the high risk. The blood tests and scans are very good and quite accurate these days. I know they say age is a big factor but the downs babies I know were born to mothers under the age of 30. Whatever you decide, its your choice, just be informed and 100% confident in your decision. Congratulations on great scan results!

Dano, so glad you get early scans. Keep us updated!

Laura, love your dogs (and Vegas). We have a beagle which I'm sure is not nearly as well behaved. I think she loves Marcy because of the increase in human food she gets now!

I think I may have just got the best early Christmas present ever! Don't want to get too excited as still faint but darker than the last 2 days and feels different. But very visible. I won't call it bfp until I see it tomorrow on 2 different tests (in stream and dip strip). But still a little excited :)

M2c really good thanks :) buying loads of baby stuff as we possibly have a baby boy coming home in March!! So exciting!

I love stalking an reading :) x

So exciting Aimze! A baby boy! March is so close! Ooh so exciting. I really hope it works out as planned. Have fun shopping xx

Yay jackyb, knew someone else would be getting a bfp on this thread soon, there always seems to be 2 or 3 of us due around the same time! Congrats!

Aimze, that's amazing news, how exciting!!

JackyB- Yaaay!!! That is best type of Christmas present! Congrats and praying for a sticky bean :)

Aimze- I'm so excited for you!!!

Jacky: congrats on your bfp! What a Christmas gift!

Aimze: a little boy, how exciting! Will he be a newborn or a slightly older baby/child?

Ece: I do agree with Vicki, if you can avoid the section then do. It's all I've ever known, but it's a much longer road to recovery and you need as much energy as possible with a newborn!

Awwww thank ladies! He's 1 but was born 3 months early so hes a lot smaller than your average 1 year old!!

We love him so much an hav only seen photos!!!

X

Exciting Aimze! Sounds perfect! Xx

So going to call it bfp today! All tests strongly positive! Yay! Thanks everyone. I have a good feeling about this one!

Dano, I think I'm a day behind you from my last and only af. But ill have a bit bigger age gap. 20 months so hopefully I can get Marcy toilet trained so only one set of nappies! Ooh exciting! Usually happens in 3z on here... I wonder who is next?

Aimze: one year olds are so much fun, I think that's just perfect.

Jacky: hooray for a stronger line. Grow baby, grow!

I got told by my specialist to get my levels checked asap once I got my bfp to reduce my mc risk. The test takes 2 weeks for results so I only get a week to get my levels right once I get my results so I went yesterday (if not right at 7 weeks massive mc risk). The doc (was my normal one due to Christmas) was lovely and gave me a form for blood tests and early scan without question as soon as told her about the pmp. So very happy. But then I go and have to have urine test at docs as new procedure. Bear in mind I got a darker bfp in the morning. Of course diluted pee and its negative. Stupid nurse was like you need the doc again because your not pregnant. I'm told that I was and she responds with clearly your not... Why do they insist on being bitchy and that they are right when they have no idea. Of course very pale colour urine is going to give dodgy results! This is why they do blood tests! Doc was lovely again and insisted I ignore it and go by bloods. Aah what a way to stress you out!

Found the number 3 lady Dano! A good friend in my mums group is due the same day as me (couple days behind you) on 27 Aug! Wow sho would have thought! Our girls are 2 days apart too! Long story how it came up but now getting very excited!

Come and join us Laura, you know you want to! Xx

Oh also have early scan booked in in Jan and did blood today so I can adjust my meds. Ill be 8 weeks for scan as I moved it back a week so we will definitely see heart beat! Also didn't want to do a scan before my hubby's birthday again (as with pmp). So its after it instead. Makes a world of difference to have a nice doctor finally!

Awesome news Becky. I wanna join you!!!!! Hehe.... Gonna wait a few more months so probably March or April. I want to now but I wanna give my body a little more rest. Eek! Excited for you ladies!!!!

Happy Christmas Eve ladies! Are we ready for Christmas Day? I'm so excited xxxx
