Molar and Partial Molar Pregnancy Support Group

Hi Lotte, so good to see you on here! Wow hasn't time flown! Ella is 5 months! And such a beautiful little girl.
Don't feel the pressure to start solids. I started Marcy at 5ish month on some pureed pear, apple and rice cereal as the doctorss wanted me to. She was ready but took most of the month to start eating enough for a full meal. I think she was 7 months before 2 meals and dropped a feed. Do what is best for your family. There is some debate on whether you start at 4 or 6 months but most experts say its purely based on the child and whether they are ready. Youcll know when she is ready.
Wonderful that she enjoyed the time with your mum. When do you go back to work? How are you feeling about it?
I'm back part time and still not feeling good about it but the money does help. Marcy is loving time with my mum and at childcare. She is going well. My spotting has stopped. The doc thinks maybe my placenta settling. Starting to get nervous about my next scan at 13 weeks as they are checking the placenta for issues. I guess its hard not to be nervous given what we have all been through.

Once again, do good to see you on here. So glad Ella is everything you dreamed of. You deserve wonderful things xx (everyone of you lovely ladies do too xxx)

Raff, I can't believe Emsley is 7 months already! Gloria's picture was brilliant! Such beautiful girls xx

Hello, my name is Samantha. I was just recently diagnosed with a molar pregnancy. This is my second loss in 5 months. I lost a baby at 5 weeks back in August and had a natural miscarriage.I just lost another one at 8 weeks on january 13th and had to have a D&C. As if that wasnt enough, they now say that it was a molar pregnancy. They sent me for blood tests, and say my numbers arent going down as much as they thought they would. Im scared to death that on top of losing my baies that now I could have a chance of getting cancer. I dont know what to do. I feel lost, like no one understands how I feel or what im going through. It helped to come on here and read about your rainbow babies and see that I am not alone.

I'm so sorry to hear Samantha :-( I am going through the blood tests at the moment to make sure my levels are going down after having a partial molar! Stay strong x

Hey Sam, I'm so sorry for your losses. You've found a lovely bunch of ladies who are going through or have been through a molar. We can all help you in some way. Do you know if it's a partial or complete molar? And do you know your levels? Xxxxxx

Welcome Sam, sorry for you loss. I hope you find what you need here from these lovely ladies xx

I'm glad Marcy enjoys being with your mum. Its so hard!

I'm glad the spotting has stopped. How far along are you? It must be so exciting to have #2!

Sorry for your loss Samantha.

Where abouts in the world are you? Do you know what your numbers are doing?

I think on this board there are ladies who have had a partial and some who have had a complete and also levels dropping by differing amounts. We can all help you. It is so hard when you lose a baby to then have to go through this. :hugs:

Lotte- we are doing well here. Haha, that crazy hair pic of Gloria is one of my favorites! Funny though, she has all curls and Emsley's is stick straight...so far. I can't get over how old Eleanor is too! Do you guys ever talk about when you'd like to have #2? ... I know it is still a bit early, but it's still fun to talk about.

Its funny how sisters can be so different. Has Gloria always had curly hair?

I'm not if there will be a #2. Its strange because I miss being pregnant so much (although at the time wanted ella to be here!) but I just can't imagine going through it again. Also, i'm sure all mum's of one say this but I don't know how i will love another baby like I love ella. I'm not sure i'm done mind!!

Will you try for a third, or do you think you are done?

Xx

Lotte, indigo is on solids. She has 3 meals and 3-4 feeds a day. I started her off with dinner stuff like pear, apple, yogurts, bananna, sweet potato etc. she was nearly 6 months so I give get finger foods for lunch. You start when you feel Ella is ready. You know your baby. We startedcorban to young and it took a while to get used to it so I wanted to make sure indie was ready. She's still just breastfed. Ella sounds like she is doing great! Lovely weight too! Glad she was ok with your mum. Will you go back part time. So glad you popped in as it's always so lovely to hear from you.

House is just great! Soooooo much more room.

Xxx

Lotte, I'm 10 weeks now and due end of August. Getting very excited now but just trying to hold back to my 12 weeks scan (when we get back from holidays in 3 weeks) and they clear my placenta. Trying to ignore the past and be excited. Big milestone for me though, developmentally bubs (or Frankie bean as we are calling it) is beyond the 7.5 week mark where all the others stopped growing (apart from Marcy obviously) :) All looked good last week :)

Hope you enjoy being back at work in june. It is nice to use my brain for adult level things but I miss Marcy. Its funny she is always much more cuddly when I pick her up. That is a nice feeling :)

Xxx

Jbaby how are you doing?

Any news from Quinn?

I'm going good, I'm having my next blood test today. It's killing me not knowing the results. The pathology wouldn't give them to me cos the doctor has to but she said not to come back til I have had them all :-(
I did a home test last Saturday and it was still positive (fainter than I was getting but still definitely there). I have ordered some internet cheapies so I can keep testing until it is negative so atleast I can see that it is going down! It is 3 weeks post d&c.......shouldn't my levels be 0 by now or because it's a partial mole it will take heaps longer?

It's all different.... Some drop quickly, some a little slower. Might take longer if your hcg was higher. Must say when you get to lower numbers it takes longer to drop sometimes! If you can't get your results then maybe testing is away of checking but if it's very faint I'm sure your nearly negative. With chemo my levels took 3 months to drop below 5.

Jbaby-sorry you're going through this! And lame that they withhold the results for so long! That would make me crazy. As far as levels, mine didn't hit zero till 7-8 weeks post dnc, so you might still have ways to go. Some ladies here went to zero very fast, but others I think took even longer. I think as long as it is going down is what matters.

Gosh if I have to wait longer than 7 weeks for it to go down I will be a mess, the only thing holding me together now is counting down to my next ob appointment and hoping she will give us the ok to start trying again.....if she doesnt give us the ok. I will be so upset :-( I guess there isn't anything I can do about it though so what's the point in dwelling!? It's just do hard not to!

What were your numbers at when you had your d&c's Rafferty and Mummy2corban

Thank you ladies for your support.Im from Ohio, my numbers were 25000 before D&C, 1000 on 1/21, 995 on 1/24, 829 on 1/28. Hopefully they continue to go down.

I hope your levels keep dropping Sam. You had a good big drop after your d and c which is good. Fingers crossed its quickly!

Jbaby, it took 7 weeks (could have happened in 6 as at 6 was 7.5 by 7 was 2) to get below 5 or negative. Similar to Raff. My specialist was pleased with that. I don't know what my levels were pre dnc but they were 1000 a week later. Can you ring and ask the Secretary? They might give you the levels from record without realising the doc wanted to tell you?
If you are down to faint line you should be getting low. Definitely a great way to monitor it yourself. Fertility2family were quite cheap (in Aus) with free delivery and no minimum order. They have instream and dip sticks. Very cheap (like $0.25 each for some packs). They are very decrete with postage too.

Good luck with your tests this week ladies. Thinking of you xx
