My first ever test?

Hi ladies. Starting this month into our 7th month ttc we have decided to begin using ovulation tests....But i am puzzled as this test is clearly negative but when do you know it is positive? Instructions not that clear, Does the test line have to be darker than the control line?

The test line needs to be as dark or darker than the control line. Yours is negative, keep testing!

Thank you. I thought it was negative. On day 10 of a 28 day cycle so hopefully in the next few days. Xx
