hey!

i am new to this site! :flower:

hope everyone is ok! i really need some help, or some stories of similar hcg levels that went on to be healthy preganacies!

my betas havent really been going up as much as i was expecting them. they have sorta been doubling every 3 days. but still really worried as everyone from my clinic who i speak to on another forum (about 7 of them) all their HCGS have more than doubled within 48 hrs. but not mine.

these are my HCG levels

15pdo = 400
16dpo = 559
18dpo = 809.7 (doubled in 3 days.)
20dpo = 1631
22dpo = 2685 (not doubled in 48hours so DR, asked for another BT the day after)
23dpo = 4168
25dpo = 6523 - this is todays. again not doubled in 2 days.

i am so scared that we will not find a heartbeat thats what its not doubling as fast as other pples? my beta was quite high too? i am 5w3d today.

any help would be sooo appriciated.

thank you so much :kiss:

Everyone is different, I know some clinics want the numbers to at least increase by 66% but I'm not sure if thats what your dr wants from you, its good that your numbers are increasing though and not going down. At 5 weeks 3 days, my beta was 9,901.

You should check this link that should make you feel better about this story of "doubling" every 48h :

https://www.babymed.com/tools/hcg-calculator

that's what they say :

HCG Calculator
In most normal pregnancies at hCG levels below 1,200 mIU/ml the hCG usually doubles every 48-72 hours and it normally increases by at least 60% every two days.

In many early pregnancies, the hCG level will double every 31 to 72
hours. As the pregnancy progresses, hCG levels rise and the doubling
time increases.

In general, after 6-7 weeks of the pregnancy the best indication of a healthy pregnancy is a good fetal heartbeat. Blood hCG levels are not very helpful to test for the viability of the pregnancy if the hCG level is well over 6,000 and/or after 6-7 weeks of the pregnancy. Instead, to test the health of the pregnancy bette at that timer, a sonogram should be done to confirm the presence of a fetal heart beat. Once a fetal heart beat is seen, it is not recommended to check the pregnancy viability with hCG levels.

NORMAL HCG DOUBLING TIMES

HCG Levsl DOUBLING TIME EXPECTED
Under 1,200 mIU/ml Between 30 and 72 Hours
1200-6000 mIU/ml Between 72 and 96 Hours
Over 6,000 mIU/ml Over 96 Hours

and this one :

your doubling time isn't that bad at all !

Your not far from doubling, and its going up so thats a good sign. Most doctors say 48-72 hours for doubling. Women produce HCG differently than others.

What they said. At this point you can't count on doubling any more. After 1,200 level it won't double every 48 hours. I think your numbers look good.

Thank you very much for all your replies! :)

rozmay - thanks for that, it did actually help and make me feel a bit better.

its still so worrying. i guess i wont be more relax till my 1st U/S. i know everyone is different my my HCG levels must just seem to take a bit longer to double than 48 hours.

my clinic still have to call me to see when i have to go back for another BT. i assume it will be tomorrow as they havent doubled today (48hours) but lets wait and see. its just hard sometimes when everyone from my clinic their numbers seem to double every 48 hours or even in less time!!!!!!

me and my husband are praying everyday for our baby. we already love "it" so much!! <3

lots of love to everyone xxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Chloe,

I am in a similar position but yours are much much higher than mine. Mine doubled ok until 1439 at 5 weeks 2 days to 1739 two days later. Scanwise there is a gestational sac and yolk sac but the size of the gestational sac seems to be a week behind. I am going for a 6 week 5 day scan tomorrow so i'll let you know. I think you might be ok with those numbers, they're far far higher than mine so try not to worry too much as I am still holding on to a thread of hope with my dismal statistics. x

Also if you're really worried, you could have a scan to check measurements so far but there are lots of stories on here about early scans being unreliable and scaring pregnant women for no reason e.g if behind dates they have caught up. But for example if you're 6 weeks 3 days then they can measure something called the crown rump length of the baby and it should be something like 5.8mm at that time (piece of rice!). I think they rely much more on scans than numbers at 6 weeks. If your baby is measuring fine and you're sure of dates then this would be massively reassuring even if you didn't see the heartbeat this early. From my own experience these measurements have told me a lot about the viability of the pregnancy. In my last pregnancy I had a heartbeat but the baby was 4 days behind and I was sure of my dates so this was a huge clue something was wrong. I never knew my hcg numbers then. However, looking at your numbers alone I think it's highly likely you'll be fine. You might have to pay for a private scan at 6 weeks ish if you're not bleeding / cramping etc. I really hope that's helpful, sorry I am not a success story with same numbers as you (yours are much better).x

I was just browsing, and dont know anything about beta's but i just wana so good luck and keep faith! :flower:
