Newbie to Temping, Ladies I NEED you !

Hi Girls

I pray you are all going well and receive you :bfp: soon !!

I am looking into temping but don't know much....
all i know is when your eyes open you have to stick a thermometer in your mouth ? but i wake up and different times 3:30am with hubby for a kiss goodbye and then at 7:45 to get ready for work, what do i do?

please help, thanks :dust:
 
Hi, you need to temp at consistent time before talking, kissing, peeing, drinking. You could temp at the latter time I'd you've had at least 3 hours uninterrupted sleep. Some ladies temp vaginally. I prefer oral temping. Hope this helps and good luck. I really recommend you check out fertility friend :)
 
The most important things are 1) consistency and 2) at least three uninterrupted hours of sleep. For me, I prefer vaginal temping for higher accuracy. I temp at 0630 Monday through Friday when my alarm goes off for work. Whenever I happen to wake up naturally on Saturday and Sunday is when I temp then, typically around 0800. This works for me because I typically go to sleep really late on the weekends, and waking up to temp at 0630 on the weekends doesn't guarantee me three uninterrupted hours of sleep. Your 0745 wake-up should be fine as long as it's before you get out of bed. Best of luck!

What type of thermometer do I buy? lol I honestly thought it was oral temping...
 
Oral temping is fine, it's the most common type of tracking. Vaginally to me is a bit faffy- not sure how far to put it in etc!
You'll need to buy a basal Thermometer (BBT) which are quite cheap from chemist. It needs to be on that's digital and measure to 2 denial places (ie 36.56 as opposed to 36.6). I got mine on Amazon a Baby Mad one for about 4.99

Great, thank you, i was alittle scared to hear i had to insert same questions came to mind how far in etc..
 
Temping will NEVER be perfect. I often wake during the evening to pee/ get a drink of water. Temping should be the first thing you do before getting up or talking. It is best to try and take your temp at the same time every night but that doesn't always work out. I try to get 3 hours of sleep but it doesn't always work, sometimes it is like 2 hours of sleep. The important thing to remember is you are looking at the forest, not the trees. You are looking for your own unique over arching pattern. Many women with terrible sleeping patterns still see a shift after O. It may take a couple of months before you notice your pattern. Using OPKs and monitoring CM can help you figure all this out as well.
 
I agree with 2ducks. It won't be perfect but you'll get a good enough picture by looking at the overall pattern. For me, along with opks it just confirms when I O more accurately (and also gives me peace of mind that I do in fact O after the LH surge). my BFP cycle my chart was triphasic but only after a +hpt SO this time around I'm just charting for ovulation confirmation and that's it. I'll drive myself nuts if I try to guess if I'm pg from my chart. I just try to temp first thing when I wake up and if it is way off time-wise, I either use a calculator online to adjust it (gasp) or I just exclude it. Figure out what seems to give you a good overall picture, and go with it :)

Oh yea and I temp orally for sure...it works just fine.
