I don't want to get in a panic over one day of little movement, but he's been so active recently, it's odd for him to be quiet!

I think I've felt a couple of wriggles but no kicks. I thought he was quiet this morning when I woke and that's what made me try to keep an eye out all day.

I hope he's awake this evening and kicks the hell out of me.

Would you get worried after a quieter day when you're 23+5. They usually say 28 weeks onwards to count kicks?

If he's quiet this evening I definitely want to call triage and ask their advice, as he's never quiet on the evenings or at least never for the entire day...

Anyone else get the odd scary days x

Just after I posted I've had a few small kicks! He's awake but still not as forceful with his kicks as he has been!

But at least he's done a few kicks!

Just such a comparison to him being wiggly and kicking the last two days especially! Feels like he doesn't sleep sometimes!

I expected a quiet day today form Lil' Miss Bean since it felt like she was moving all day yesterday. It's pretty variable for me and with an anterior placenta I don't feel movement too strongly.

Nothing felt from the outside yet. I'm eager to share the movement with my husband.

Movements are off and on for me too. Usually after a particularly active day, she'll have a day or so where she's super quiet. It's too early to get concerned =)

Have you been really active or moving around yourself much? If so, I'd say you've properly lulled your LO to sleep in there...I find my little guy gets quiet after a hard day of housecleaning, or toddler-chasing.

It isn't terribly abnormal for baby to have a quiet day. If you're worried, drink something cold and sugary, and lie on your left side for a while...that should get baby dancing a bit more.

I was sat down at work a lot today so quite the opposite and he was still quiet.

I find if I lie on my back for a bit I think I wake him and he moves. So I did that and he sure did and gave me a few kicks before I suddenly had an accidental nap.

So I feel better now. It's just as he starts to get a pattern he'll throw me off with one odd day of sleeping loads! Doesn't help I've felt movements for weeks and weeks pretty early on and I can see quite a lot of movements just by looking at my belly.
Sometimes makes me feel like he's going to come earlier than my due date as I felt him so early!

So the odd day of quietness is okay this early, but probably any longer than that like two or three days maybe get it checked. That's a good rule to go by??

Mine has changed positions, it feels like popping inside me as hes facing downwards and kicking down into me, I'm not worried but i wish he would change back to his normal positions my organs and body parts are taking a beating lol! x

I get the odd time of quietness... though I do get at least a few movements a day. Usually she's quite active but I need to be sat still to notice.

I cannot stress enough that leaving it 2 or 3 days for lack of movement is not good at all, I don't want to sound over the top but if you have any concerns with baby's movement it's always worth getting it checked out. Midwives will say they would rather see you for a hundred false alarms that not see you and have something happen.

Realistically everything is likely fine and baby is just having a quiet day, but if you do your regular test (cold water, lying down) and baby doesn't respond as anticipated, it's always worth double checking and calling, for your own piece of mind.

:)

This happened to me just a few days ago, I went in for my Glucose test and had been pretty busy and hadn't felt baby move much, maybe one bump while waiting. I was worried because I didn't eat at all that day before the glucose test and my water consumption was also on the low side (I got really sick after giving blood) I'm not as far along as you are though but a few days before I went in for the test baby was moving all the time. So I tried not to worry as I had an appointment the day before and the HB was great, but you know its hard even when their movements aren't in a pattern yet. So the next day passed and still minimal movement and last night I stayed up pretty late and what do you know, there LO was just a kicking away and today baby has been as active as before. I think maybe baby went into hiding or turned so I couldn't feel as much, I always hear to drink OJ or something sweet to get a response if movement is low. I've also heard its common if baby is going through a growth spurt they sleep more and move less.

Wow we are due around the. Same time.

I'm having the same problem. Normally he's kicking away day and night but today he hasn't hardly moved. Now I'm laying in bed and he normally kicks up a storm. I drank orange juice and yoghurt and even cold water but nothing. I'm worried a shell I tried to use my doppler but I'm so big now I can't tell what's an artery sound to my own heart beat to much area to cover and I have no idea where or what I'm looking for now. I've had cramping for the last few days on and off and tightening of the abdomen yesterday and also peeing and feeling like I have the craps I went twice today. Even now I'm rolling around in bed trying to get him to move.

Oh and I text my midwife today she said not to worry that around these weeks baby's normally go quiet because of brain development speeds up so they tend to go into some quiet state she told me that she gets a lot of mothers noticing this around 23-26 weeks. Should I believe her?

I'm not as far as you but my baby likes to have his/her lazy days. Some days I wake up in the morning with tunes of movement and then others I only feel little movement throughout the day.

When I was pregnant with my daughter she was a very lazy baby... couldn't do the kick counting cause she didn't like moving much, at all. Some babies just get really lazy :)

Hannah berry, if you're still worried I'd tell her you're very worried and see if she can squeeze you in.

I do think there is some truth in the baby gets a little lazy around this time. They sleep up to 14 hours a day, the app I have says brain development is at it's best right now, and he's put on half a pound since last week, so I wouldn't be surprised at all if they quieten down now after doing a bit of research.

Luckily I bought another battery for my Doppler and I have a bit more peace of mind if he is quiet, he is kicking a bit more than the other day but definitely having a lazy week I reckon! I hadn't used my Doppler in weeks and weeks though and I found it surprisingly hard to find babies, and I heard mine down there louder than ever before, so I got a bit confused!!
