November Autumn Babies

Congrats on the arrival of your baby girl Nogreater! I’m glad everything went well. Enjoy the baby snuggles! :hugs:

Happy any sign your little one is on the way? I really hope you can have your home birth.

Thank you! The baby snuggles are awesome! It’s been so long, I almost forgot. They certainly make up for the lack of sleep. I can’t wait to hear everyone else’s birth announcements!

NGL congratulations <3

Echo appeared to be ok, she said she couldn’t see anything wrong, nothing obvious at least but I won’t know for certain until my GP surgery decides to call me, which I doubt they will bother since they were meant to call last week about my potassium levels and they didn’t bother. Had to wear the holter monitor, which wasn’t fun removing the next day as those sticky things they use were really stuck ... one took the skin off with it!
We are assuming hospital birth, but I will stay home as long as possible and since I have dropped my diazepam to 1mg, unless there’s a really good reason not to, I will discharge us after 6 hours.
Just the usual BH, stronger than they were, and tmi but cervix feel super soft and a little dilated. If I had to guess I would say about 2cm, but I’m not a midwife. I have a midwife appointment Tuesday, she will do a sweep if he hasn’t arrived by then. Both boys arrived on their due dates, so perhaps he will follow suit. I checked on his heartbeat with our Doppler yesterday and I can hear it loudest high up, so I’m praying he hasn’t decided to turn into breech

Thank you, Happy! Glad to hear all went well with the echo. Sorry you won’t be able to have a home birth, but it’s great your hospital stay will be short. One day left! Here’s to your little one not turning breech and coming on time like his brothers. Have a safe delivery!

Lol! Yeah that ship has sailed lol so I have had two on their due dates, one 13 days before her due date and this one is late. Sweep Monday if he doesn’t arrive before. I suspect the doctors will frown upon us leaving after six hours, but given the nature of withdrawal (if it happened), there really isn’t much point in staying in unless there are obvious problems because it can take a while to show. Hopefully it won’t happen. Down to 1/2mg today. Could have a home birth, but they have made me feel boxed in. Midwife thinks he’s in the right position so that’s good

Well, I didn't get my VBAC but I did get to have a trial of labor and I ended up with a non-emergent c section because of failure to progress over a 24 hour period. After the c-section my doctor came in and told me that he hadn't descended at all and his head was actually lying sideways in my pelvis so she believes I made the right call by deciding to have the c-section. It wasn't ultimately what I wanted but my baby is safe and so am I, that's all I could really ask for.

I'm also really glad I had the opportunity to experience labor. It is so painful but I feel really happy that I was able to labor without an epidural for 24 hours having pitocin contractions. I received an epidural RIGHT before I chose to have the c-section.

His name is Watson and he was born on 11/6/2018 at 9:52am. We're succeeding at breastfeeding and we're all adjusting to our new family member.

Congrats on the safe arrival of your baby boy Ash! I’m glad you got to experience labour like you wanted if not a vaginal birth - wow, 24 hours of pitocin contractions with no epidural? You are super woman! Wishing you a smooth and speedy recovery :hugs:

How are you doing Happy? Did you have your sweep today?

Congratulations Ash! I love his name! So glad everyone is adjusting. Hope you have an easy recovery.

So beautiful, Cookies. Hope you are doing well!

Hi ladies

I realise i've been really inactive on this thread. As you can imagine i've had lots of mental health problems following on from our loss last year and me needing an emergency cervical stitch at 14 weeks this pregnancy. I didn't even begin to imagine i'd be bringing home a baby until 3 weeks ago and did nothing to prepare for birth or baby until 2 weeks ago.

Anyhow, I had my baby boy this morning at 6:39am at 37+5 after an induction for prolonged reduced fetal movements and maternal anxiety which took 12 hours and 39 minutes from start to finish! He weighed 6lb 5oz and despite knowing he's been a boy since 17 weeks he is currently nameless!

I have been following all your journeys even though I haven't participated and I'm looking forward to seeing all the birth announcements coming up!
