OPK positive 5 days in a row?

This was an interesting thread! I didn't really know about being able to get positive OPKs for many days and possible reasons for that. I also didn't understand what you meant Carly in the first post.. what was being donated and to who - I was thinking... Is that how women donate eggs? lol

Oh no! I'm sorry af showed up. I really wanna burn that B at the stake now grrr. Do you know anything about your donations for next cycle?

I forgot to mention I've had two days of pink spotting. I had a 6 day lp last month with spotting so it's worrying me that I won't get a bfp this cycle. Back to cautiously optimistic.

Candice I've learned that some women have a stronger LH presence and it can give a lot of false + opks. Some women with pcos such as myself have this problem.

Michelle thanks hun I have decided to take time off from ttc as this was 9th cycle ttc with no luck. I hope to lose some weight before trying again, also try and extend my luteal phase with vitamins and spearmint tea

Do you take any vitamins for the luteal phase issue? I really hope it's not a short lp again for you!! C'mon witch stay away...We'd like a bfp over here please and thank you!! lol

Well I hope a little time off will help with everything you need it to. understand how 9 months ttc could wear you out. I'm sure having to rely on donations makes it even that much harder. I hope you stick around so I can get updates! I'm quite invested now!

As far as the luteal phase defect there are two options I know of.
The first is Vitex (it also goes by chasteberry or agnus castus) it is a natural herb that helps regulate hormones. It is supposed to pretty much be a miracle worker and has endless good reviews online. I would google it there is a lot of info out there about it. I just got my first two bottles of 100ct each for $10 from amazon on Saturday but I hadn't started it yet because I wanted to do so at the beginning of my next cycle.
The second is progesterone. It is supplemented post o and extends the lp. You can finds creams online I believe. I personally wouldn't start using progesterone unless it was directed by my doc because if used incorrectly it can really mess up your hormonal balance. Also if you get pregnant using progesterone you typically have to keep taking it through the first trimester until the placenta takes over progesterone production.
Can you tell I've been trolling the internet like crazy about this subject? ?

If I don't get a bfp I'll let you know how the vitex works out

Thanks so much for that info hun It's funny I had just researched some info on agnus castus earlier as I'd heard of it from other ttc ers in the past. I am going to buy the 1000mg caps and take 2 a day I think. Also looking at 100mg vit b6 capsules and evening primrose oil. I'll also start taking folic acid in preparation

I may skip charting this cycle....or chart but without temping lol. Just find the temp thing kinda takes over my life :/ Don't you hate it sometimes?! lol.

No actually I fall more in the WTT category right now. We will re-evaluate the situation in 2 months to see if we're ready to TTC#3. I'm not ready right now but at the same time, anything later than this year I feel would be a big age gap (between a new baby and my oldest who is 7now).

Oddly enough i kinda like temping. I've always struggled with insomnia and it forces me to atleast attempt a regular sleep schedule. My nails and hair love prenatal vitamins btw!

Hahaha if only!!! lol Hey, realllyyy hope this is your bfp cycle though then you won't even need the vitex! If temping makes life easier for you then you do right temping....I just stress over it too much lol. I'll deffo temp when ttc though as if I hadn't temped this cycle I AF may have surprised me. I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for any updates from you in the next week or so. Hope the spotting stops...or is early IB! That would be awesome. Would you test early or hold out for af due date? x

I plan to test 14dpo as long as I don't get af. My last luteal phase was only 6dpo so it will feel like a miracle to make it that long. Unfortunately I've had spotting again today. It only seems to happen in the evening I'm not sure why. It's a small amount but enough to really bother/worry me.

Michelle I really hope that spotting does stop! You poor thing! Can imagine how totally annoying it's got to be for you! Hopefully it won't make any difference or hinder chances of bfp, but if it does then that might mean the agnus castus may work wonders for you next cycle?? It could be nothing which would be fab, but if it is a progesterone thing then fx it addresses it!

I'm keeping my fx tightly crossed for this cycle though and go you having the willpower to wait until 14dpo! I've always been a POAS fanatic lmao x

That's really good to know! My daughter has the personality of a little mommy. Even at 4 while I was pregnant with her brother I could tell, she would hug the baby bump allllll the time and then when he was born, he wanted to do anything to help, and talked to him, played with him, would insist that he come along when I asked if she wanted to do something just me and her. I was thinking I wanted to make it more even since I was spending so much time and energy on the new baby but she didn't feel any resentment, just pure love and joy.

Your comment reminds me of that because she's still the same at 7 years old, and would probably take on that role even more if we had a next baby, whether she was 8 or 9 or 10. Now I need to figure out how my son might react to a new baby based on what I know about him so far...

Carly I found another supplement that's supposed to help extend your lp and fertility. It B vitamins specifically b6 and b12. They also can help birth defects if taken correctly. Last night I couldn't sleep because I was worried and upset about my lp issues. So of course I started harassing dr.Google again. I more specifically was trying to find if there was anything that could help with spotting. I'm worried that if I have a little bean it won't be able to stick with spotting going on. Anyways here's an article for you. Of course you can find much more on the interweb.

Aw, that's such a sweet relationship you have with your brother! I hope it'll be something like that between my kids. How old are you both now? He must really look up to you

Me and my brother are close now and in some ways we were close and got along well as children, but I was never protective of him and we weren't as important to each other as I see my kids being to each other. Our age difference was 2.5 years and I was reading something online about age differences and the feeling they were saying a first child can have with a new sibling at 2-3 years was spot on with what I felt towards him sometimes. Maybe I wasn't ready to share my parents just yet and not old enough to fully understand. I'm not scarred about it or anything and I have only good memories of my childhood but definitely wasn't as close to my bro as my kids are together.

The differences in interest worry me when it comes to a 3rd kid with another large age gap because I already know what it's like to have two kids in two different stages and it can be hard to juggle. With a 3rd in another completely different stage of childhood... Ouf! I'm gonna need some backup.

Candice I think the relationship can depend on a lot of things. Of course each kid is an individual and will react differently according to what may be going on in their development and stage in life. Even if they don't warm up to the baby right away eventually they will get to the point where they couldn't imagine life without them.
Oh and I'm 22 and my brother is 17 now. He will be a senior next year and then he says he going away for college. I told him he's not allowed!
