i just caught the end of the pakistan spokesperson who now says "the issue of bin laden is now history"
I think I heard on the news that he was resisting capture and that's why he was killed. They did say it was customary that he either be buried in land or at sea within 48 hours of his death. Not getting into the opinion thing much, but please don't generalized against all Americans. It's not right. It's like saying all British have bad teeth or all Scots are drunks. You don't like it and neither do I!

I think people are referring to the American government, not citizens. There is a huge difference.

Either or. Say the "American governement" then as opposed to "Americans." I've already spoken to a couple people who fear for their relatives because they are in foreign countries and are afraid someone will take out retribution on them simply because they are American. No one is going to stop and ask if they supported the decision of the government.
Picture yourself in my position. I'm from California. Automatically, most people think I live by the beach and surf.

I'm going to tread lightly, but I find it fascinating that people are cheering about the murder of one man. He is a symbol of what happened in the States, yes, he may have had a part in it, or was the one who initiated it, but in the past ten years, terrorism in North America and the "war on terrorism" has turned into something else entirely. So, yes, in a symbolic way, it is "good" this man was killed, but will it change anything? No, certainly not. Look at Vietnam, look at Korea, wars begun for one reason and continued for entirely a different.
I was honestly shocked at the reaction I saw on tv from the americans. Cheering, singing, happiness. I just don't get it. How do I explain the murder of one man is something to celebrate? I, personally, don't believe in "an eye for an eye" method of being.
These words sum up how I feel about the whole situation;
I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that."
-- Martin Luther King, Jr.

This quote is amazing and I totally agree with every word but it is a hoax - it was never said by MLK Jr. It has spread really quickly since yesterday when it first appeared. Still, the sentiment is great!
(I googled it when I saw it on Facebook earlier today)

I think it is so true. To me it doesn't matter who said it MLK or not, if people lived by these words the world would be much brighter place
