overweight and ttc

Emmy - so sorry about your nan. You must be feeling strange, it's an awful situation to suddenly be in. Don't feel guilty for any of your feelings :hugs:

And now I've just come across a page on facebook to save our local hospital and included in the list of services they want to move to a bigger hospital about an hour and a half away (just checked google maps) is the maternity services  I'm seriously freaking out because we live in the middle of nowhere and the thought of having to travel that far in labour absolutely petrifies me

Emmy: sorry about your nan :(. I can completely understand your feelings, it would be horrible for anyone to have their birthday ever year being shawdowed by an anniversary of a passing. O my an hour and a half away! As soon as your water breaks you still have plenty of time to get there, but I can imagine not wanting to travel at all when in pain.

Oswin: as far as I'm aware, no temp rise means no ovulation yet. It might just be a longer than usual cycle :)

Xx

I've not even told Chris about the hospital issue as he will majorly freak out because I've not got the highest of pain thresholds so he will probably dread the thought of having to drive so far :dohh: I'm a bit upset that it means my mum won't be able to come to the hospital once the baby is born (way too far for her to travel), but, it does look nicer than our local hospital and that's the positive I'm trying to take from it at the moment.

As for my nan, I think I'm just burying my head in the sand at the moment. I don't feel upset, obviously I don't want her to die like this, but she's got to go at some point. That makes me sounds really heartless :nope:

Emmy: that's a big positive! Having a nice hospital means you will have better rooms and hopefully good care service! You could get a tens machine for the car ride that may help :).

It doesn't make you seem heartless, its a true way to look at it. Everyone does have to go in the end. HUGS!! Xx

Just gone to make myself a nice healthy meal and my onions have gone mouldy in the middle  Was only going to make pasta and meatballs with tomato sauce, but that's out of the window now. I just really want to get back onto it as I've been so easygoing with myself since af started (which has pretty much finished yay), so I really want to focus as much as possible up until christmas day

How's everyone else's weekends going?

ahh i hate it when that happens! if you have any herbs, you could do a tomato and herb sauce with so you can still have it?

I have had a good weekend :), not done a lot because hubby is on pager duty for emergency call out. It means we cannot go anywhere because he has to be within 10 minutes of base. I finished all my wrapping, sorted out our spare room ready for people over on Christmas and made progress on my knitting.

I also signed up for a volunteer service to help older people who don't have any family etc.
x

Hubby is fetching me some chicken and bread back from mum's and I'll make a chicken sandwich, we'll do a shop tomorrow

Yikes comet, it sounds like you've been super busy. I'm going to try and finish wrapping pressies tomorrow night I think as we want to take them to cheshire with us on thursday night

Try not to worry about the hospital move: I think it's only a small percentage of mums who actually have the mad rush to the hospital: I ended up being admitted for days before I was then induced, and as comet says when your water breaks it's often hours before anything starts to happen much.

I'm having an ok weekend, just writing Christmas cards, I've gone crazy as usual: how many does everyone else send!?

Also I'm feeling crampy, which isn't usual for me midcycle :-/

Emmy...sorry to hear about your nan...I like to stick my head in the sand too...I'm not good at dealing with things like that...it would be nerve racking to have your hospital that far away BUT there is usually a lot of time to get there before the main event...and whenever I bring up birthing pain people tell me you'll forget it as soon as you are holding your baby in your arms...how was your sandwich?:hugs:

Comet...that sucks about your doc....I am frustrated for you...sounds like you got a lot done over the weekend...that is awesome you are volunteering...when do you start that?

Oswin...I am horrible at Christmas cards...some years I send them and some don't...but there are probably between 30 & 40 that I send out...SoOoOOoo how many do you send out?

I finished wrapping all my presents and set up my nativity scene under my tree...did some house work but it was kind of a lazy weekend...we got a ton of snow so we were homebodies for the weekend...

I already don't want to have to get up early and go to work I am soooooo not a morning person:coffee:

Oswin: hmmm ovulation cramps? I usually send about 30, hubby has a big family whereas mine is tiny :).

Alex: hopefully after the new year! Sounds like you had a nice weekend, especially with all the snow!!

Xx

Alex.... I send about.............

100

So my temperature is still the same, so I'm guessing I've either not OVed yet, or did yesterday when I felt cramps, and will then get a raised temp tomorrow morning. Just dying to dtd again tonight to make sure we catch the egg, but hubbys libido isn't as high as mine, and he's never keen on more than every two days :dohh:

oswin: 100 :O wow!
you could bargain with him by saying if we do tonight then the next 3 days you can have off? haha.

Everyone: so what does everyone do for work?

x

We haven't sent any christmas cards this year, which is the first time in a while we've actually forgotten :dohh:

I'm actually a carer for my mum. She's got several disabilities and now needs 24 hour care. It can be tough at times, espescially when hubby is on night duty 3 nights a week, but we make it work for us

i am a supply teacher assistant for schools around kent - i used to specialise in sen schools but i cant now because a lot of the children lash out

it means i hardly have any work now though :(

Im waiting for my next Af ... it seems to be taking forever.. had a migraine today which normally means something hormonal is happening haha

Im deputy manager of a small charity preschool :) I adore being a pre-school teacher love all "my" children :)

Emmy: what a lovely thing to do!

Magic: tommorow!!!! And shame about the lack of work, what are you planning to do when you have the little one?

Lemon: oo hopefully it will arrive soon. What is a charity school? :)

I don't work because of my m.e x

ive got to be a sahm i dont get enough work to support us otherwise

I'm a sahm at the mo, but worked in a takeaway and a restaurant before.

Just been talking to hubby about hospitals  I was trying to do some research on our local hospital and find out for definite what services they're planning on terminating and there's a lady who's writing a blog and is currently on a student midwifery placement at our local hospital. She's written a bit about the unit itself and apparently they only have 2 midwifes on duty and if they have 2 women in labour then they actually send people elsewhere :dohh:

This is making me think that maybe I should just opt for the hospital a bit of a drive away as they have a bigger maternity unit, plus their pictures on the virtual section of the nhs website makes the one in Carmarthen look much better.

Hubby says he's happy to go wherever, but I have to say the one in Carmarthen is looking better day by day :)
