Hiya

Okay so I am back at work on reduced hours and my monthly wage before tax etc is £999. I used an online calculator thing for a few years now which tells you what you will take home after tax. Putting in my new wage it said I will take home approx £875. Now up til 19th June I was on SMP so the first 2 1/2 months of the year I wasnt paying any tax.

Does anyone know if I would of underpaid on tax now due to being on maternity as I believe the amount of tax etc you need to pay is spread over the 12 months.

I am unsure if I will take home the £875 after tax or if I have been 'undercharged' tax as my earnings were based on maternity pay that I may take home less than the £875. Part of me is wondering though if as the calculator I use based when I put in the £999 on me getting paid that over a year is there a chance I may pay less tax over the next 9 months as I wont be earning a full years salary as I will do from the next tax year?

So so confused!! Lol. So april & may on smp. Half of June (to the 18th) on smp and from then on working.

Any help or advice welcome. Worked is very tense and stressed atm and also manager not in so cant check. Get paid tuesday so will likely have to wait til then but worried incase get a huge nasty suprise :D

xx
