PCOS Buddies (10 BFP)

I also did a colon cleanse/water weight loss thing last month. Could that affect my uterine lining and make me have a light period?

For those of you ladies who are on letrozole, is that because Clomid didn't work?

Yes, I conceived ds on my first round of clomid. Then decided to ttc#2 and had a chemical on my next round of clomid. Then had 2 failed clomid cycles so I'm now on Letrozole.

Jess,
They didn't really say why they changed me instead of upping the dosage, I didn't have any reactions to it. I just didn't ovulate and I had a .6 progesterone blood test. They put me on Letrozol, still didn't ovulate but got a 1.1 from the test, but afterwards I went down to a .4 (also on Letrozol)
So i'm going to be taking the next dosage up this cycle (coming in a few days)

I should say that I was ovulating on Clomid but the last two cycles I ovulated super early (CD 8) and super late (CD 21) so it was definitely not consistent. I could have stayed on Clomid but I requested to be changed because I was having a really hard time emotionally on it.

Kylas- I am not really sure but my periods have been very short like 2-3 days since Feb. I am pretty sure my lining was thinning due to the Clomid. This last period was 3 days and 2 days of spotting so better than its been.

My cycle was a nice 4-5 while I was on BC the past 3 months, so I'm curious how it will be this time with the Provera... in the past it was 6-7 days, but not sure if the BC has any pull on my body since it's been over a month now.
I'm hoping for a short and light period (it shouldn't have much to shed, except what the Provera builds up)

Interesting! Good to know! I got pregnant on my 4th round of Clomid when I had my daughter. I'm nervous since it took so long to work last time that it won't work this time. But I hadn't heard much about Letrozole!

I think Letrozol is a hit and miss just like Clomid. The only thing i've read that's different would be side affects. It seems many more have a reaction to Clomid than Letrozol. But you are still changing the chemistry of your body regardless and your body reacts differently than others (like everything else --- it's different from each person)

Clomid is just a more widely used pill than Letrozol, since Letrozol was originally intended to help with Breast Cancer and they found it has benefits for helping with infertility.
I'm glad that they found something else to helps, cause some people don't even react even to the highest dosage (I think someone on here mentioned that...)

[I've been doing a lot of reading haha]

Yes, Clomid is generally the first line for ovulation dysfunction. However, Letrozole is starting to be more common to induce ovulation. It works slightly differently than Clomid and is suppose to have fewer side effects and be in your system for a shorter period. Letrozole is also used for people with Clomid resistance.

Nice! Good to know! I'm nervous Clomid won't work this time.

My dd is 7 months old and my cycle just came back when I stopped breastfeeding. And I always hear you might get a little fertility boost when you first get your cycles back so even though dd is still very young, we know we definitely want more and it may be hard to get pg again, so I decided just to go ahead with the Clomid this month.

I have literally no idea when I will ovulate haha I haven't been temping and I don't trust OPKs soooo guess we will be bding a lot haha when I got pg before I ovulated on CD21 but did any of you find that your cycles were different after pregnancy?

Just got back from the new FS. Much better than the first!

Long story short, even though my charts suggested I'm ovulating, I'm getting a temp rise, the blood tests say no I'm not. Starting provera today to end this cycle and starting Clomid next cycle.

Sorry to hear you found out that you're not ovulating even though your chart suggested it :(

But glad to hear you are moving to a new step and trying Clomid!

Wow Sarah that really sucks. Fx the clomid is just what you need.

Glad the new FS is good Sarah - hope he gets you sorted.

AFM - been started on metformin today. Hopefully will get things working! Can anyone tell me how it helped you? X

Betty- I've been on metformin for years. It helped me lose a bit of weight but didn't do much for my cycle and nothing to help me ovulate. But I know a lot of women have success with it.

I was on metformin for a few years in my teens. It didn't help my cycles. I lost a tiny bit of weight when I started. I eventually stopped because it was pills three times a day and I was a teenager who had better things to do lol. I know a lot of people have success with it though.
