People with children here's a SMP question

People with babies, I know about the Stat Mat Pay in the UK but what happens when you've had your first baby and then take say the full year off work. Is there a certain amount of time/hours per week that you have to go back to work again to qualify for SMP with the second child?

If you're with the same employer all along, being on mat leave still counts as working for the company so you will qualify for smp again. There is no amount of time you specifically have to be in work.
