My GP prescribed me anasol. I was pretty fortunate as only had one external pile and it didn't hurt or itch or anything, just freaked me out as it bled slightly when I went to the loo (ick!).

I tried anusol cream and suppositories which helped for a bit but then just irritated them and made me itchy. Ice to the area really helped reduce the swelling and witch hazel, soaked on cotton wool or a sanitary pad and applied to the area and left for an hour or so really helped. They haven't gone completely but are much less annoying now and only pop out when on the toilet (sorry!). It worries me what they will be like after delivery though.
