Please help! Baby given expired milk by mistake!

Hi All,
Well, would you believe it - first time that the baby was given this formula (I was given it by someone else to try), I let him have a few sips - although he really didnt like it, and then when I looked at the can, realized that the milk was expired! (2+ months after expiry date), I'm very annoyed at the mum who gave it to me, but starting to panic - do I phone the doctor? How safe is it? Is there anything I should be doing!

please help - advise greatly appreciated

Well it never hurts to call the doctor that's what they are there for. I call my pediatrician all the time!

But I would also watch for any symptoms - vomiting, etc. But call the doc too.

I wouldnt worry, I think 2 months out of date will still be fine, they have to put a date on there that is sooner than the actual expiry anyway, cos lots of ppl eat and drink things after the expiry. Just watch out for an upset tummy, call doc if ur concerned, but Im sure LO will be fine, as you said it was only a few sips... xxx

I find most expiration dates are extremely conservative to cover the companies ass-ets. Unless your LO shows signs of there being a problem, they're probably fine.

im sure its fine hun. My mum gave me a tin of slim fast today -2years out of date! lol x

Best before dates aren't really thaaaat strict with regards to powdered products/dry products. Im sure baby will be fine hun but if you have any concerns i'd just ring a doctor.
