OK so just finished with the docs. My progesterone is normal - easily within the healthy range. My iron is normal, is is luteinising hormone, follicle stimulating hormone, my abdominal ultrasound was all normal. I'm a beacon of health. SO WHY CAN'T I BLOODY CONCEIVE!!! lol.

of COURSE it's wonderful to be in the healthy ranges, but in a weird way i was hoping that my progesterone would be low so it would be like 'oh that's the problem' and i could have some cream to fix it and get pregnant then.

Instead the doctor suggested a semen analysis but otherwise said we have an 'extremely high chance of getting pregnant soon'. that was quite comforting. Regarding the semen analysis - i just can't see DH being too happy about doing that. he hates going to the doc at the best of times, or even the dentist. so for something *embarrassing* (in his mind) like a semen analysis? hmmm it'd takea lot of convincing.

I'm 10dpo today and did a test with fmu. When i ripped the test apart after 10 mins and held it upside down and inside out to the light, i saw the faintest of faintest shadow of a shadow of a line (!!). but i'm not reading ANYTHING into it. my mind is amazing at creating second lines!!

i'm not holding my breath for this cycle cos i hate the disappointment so i'm counting myself out and feel fine (just a protective thing, you know).

Instead i'm going to go for a coffee in the sun cos the weather is GLORIOUS today in London.

OK sorry for the me-focused ramble. hope the rest of you are well; and horseypants can't wait for you to test again!

londongirl, good news at the doc's and i'm holding out hope that the shadow you saw is the start of something big . i tested again this morning and i cant really say the lines were much darker. a little bit maybe? you're 10dpo, i'm 9... it makes sense we'd have to hold out a bit longer. maybe by the weekend.......... ....but i do understand protecting ourselves by feeling out. it's bittersweet to share good news too. i'll just point out that it's ridiculously early and a million things could make me look a fool ;p

you can get at home semen tests! i guess there are a few different kinds. you should convince your oh it will be good fun

aww Londongirl everything will be ok, stay positive!!! It might be a little embarrassing for DH to get the semen analysis but im sure if you explain to him how much it means to you he will do it...I'm glad your healthy, now imagine your position if you would have been told you will never have children today? you would be crushed?! right? at least you can concieve there are so many women who have had countless abortions in thier youth that now long for children but cant have them because the abortions have messed them up, and there are some women out there who physically CANNOT have children...you are lucky, and you will hold your baby in your arms soon, just dn't give up, and stay positive celebrate being healthy, cause thts the first step to conception anyway...right?

OK guys so i'm uploading a pic of this morning's test. as i said, i only think i saw the faintest of faintest of faint faint faint shadows of a shadow of a faint shadow of a line (get my point!!). Usually i see NOTHING - and where the line should be is even whiter than the rest of the strip!!! but this time... i dunno...

i know i have to just wait and see, but i'm interested... what are your thoughts. when you open it up, enlarge the picture and turn your screen sideways a bit (lol i know i'm an IDIOT!!!!!) but tell me if i'm going completely bonkers. i don't mind honesty. i'm just interested in people's opinions. ps i'm 10dpo today. pps i took the photo pretty soon after (5 mins or so) and it's still the same hours later so i doubt it's an evap. not that there is necessarily even a second line there!!

I don't want to be a debbie downer but I don't see anything? Test again tomorrow (or right now!) and show us that one! I am glad your doctors visit went well and they gave you the all clear!

Honestly, I do not see anything either. However, that doesn't mean you're out yet! Give it two more days and if anything is there, it should be darker.

Hi Londongirl, I really dont want to scare you since i just gave you some major encouragement in my last reply to you, but you must be informed, usually FRER's turn pink once you take them out the casing, I had a false positive on a FRER after taking it out the casing the test line turned pinker than the control line,(I was CONVICED i was preggo) FRER has a history for pink evap lines so I suggest making a rule for yourself to never take FRER's out of the casing. One thing I do so I never go crazy over hpt's I tell myself if I cant see a line from the full length of my arm extended then its negative, but if i can, i re-asess to see if the line is even pink, hope this helped... your still not out until the witch shows!!!

Sorry to butt in like this, but I have been lurking and just got so excited to see your test!
A tiny bit about me, I am TTC #2 and am on my 5th cycle. 2nd cycle with pre-seed. This cycle we are taking it easy, DH is going through a rough patch and doesn't much want to BD, but it only takes once! baby dust to all! Petesgirl I can't wait for you to test!
