Question About Ovidrel Shot?

I also posted this in the TTC#1 section, but I then realized I may get more answers in this part of the forum..

I took the Ovidrel shot one week ago (On April 17) because my infertility doctor said I had a follicle around 19mm. On day 5 (April 22nd) , I took a HPT (First Response Gold), & it was positive. I tried not to get my hopes up because I know that the shot can stay in your system & can cause a false positive.

Anyways, tonight (which was 7 days after the shot), I took another First Response Gold HPT, and it came back negative..

I have a question. Could it be just the shot is out of my system, & I could be pregnant, just my HCG isn't high enough to show up on a test? I have a lot of symptoms already, but I don't know if it could be from the shot.. I have the nausea, the lower back pain, a little discomfort (NOT cramps) in my lower abdomin, kind of warm..

I do know I should go in for a blood test.. I just want other's opinions. All I want to do is cry but I shouldn't be stressed.. Please help..

Your hcg seems to be out of your system, it usually goes in 10 days, so timing is OK. You probably ov'd on 19th April, so you are only 6DPO, way too early for a yet. Hang in there

7 dpo is too early for a bfp so you know your trigger shot is out of your system. Hang in there you can test again around 12 dpo for pennancy or wait the full 14 dpo.

Hi hun,

It's entirely possible for the Ovidrel to be out of your system by now but still pregnant. It could just be too early for it to show. Give it a few more days. Best of luck to you!

Oh, a million thanks for you all responding back. It's been 8 days now since the shot, so I'm going to wait another 10 days, just to give it a little bit more time. I'm hoping this is it!

my ovidrel was out of my system very fast, like VERY fast. while it was in, i had lots of pregnancy symptoms, and then they faded away. i was pretty convinced by about day 6 that my round had failed. prior to that i was feeling pregnant as ever. good luck to you, and happy testing in a few more days!

Yea, I'm still having a lot of pregnancy symptoms, & the shot tested out of my symptoms 3 days ago. & they seem to be getting worse, not better. Just keeping my fingers & toes crossed that this is the real thing & not the medicine for some reason still have effects. )0:
