Recurrent Miscarriage Thread

Superp123
i am so sorry that you have hit a brick wall. does it cost much to get the extra insurance to cover the testing?

Hello ladies
Sorry i have not read everyones updates but i hope you are all well and have stopped trying to poison yourselves!
I had another specialist appointment yesterday and we think we might have found out why all the problems with soooo many mc! As i have said before i have a single fault on the MTHFR gene(1/3 of the population have it) and DH has a double fault so we are more likely to mc than the average couple, no cure for that its just my body not accepting the unwell babies. BUT we think we have found out why my homocysteine is so high. I either have a type of anemia where my body does not absorb b12 or folate or i have a big wormy in my intestine. i am hoping its the parasite because it wont take long to treat that i can have a couple of injections and we can start trying for another addition to the family. I have to do a poo test (what fun)
just in case you are wondering why i have my fingers crossed for an icky wormy in my gut because if its the anemia i will have to have injections for the rest of my life :(

i have my fingers and toes crossed for us all that we will all have some great news of a bfp or things being sorted soon

Superp123 - what a nightmare for you! is there anyone else on this forum from your area who you could chat to - maybe they can recommend someone who can help or have ideas. Wish I had more advice but it is so different in the UK to the US so I don't really know how to help hun! :hugs:

wishing4bub#3 - I hope you get sorted hun!

hi ladies super123 thats horrible that you cant get anymore testing done on your insurance did he say why?

wishingforbub- i shall keep my fingers crossed it isnt the amemia and that you just have a lil wormy that can be treated easily!

nothing much to report with me had a pcos test done last week and they have done the wrong one!!! :hissy: instead of the cd21 bloods they did cd3 ones!!!

heard back from the hospital and have an app with the hospital (although i wrote in my letter i wanted to see my consultant they have put on the letter i wil be seeing a senior doctor in my consultants clinic wtf! do they not ever listen!!!!). so shall see how that goes. going to ask about having a scan and hormone levels checked and also ask the questions about jessica i wasnt able to at my last few appointments since i saw someone different!

oh and also having problems with this cycle which has got me boogled i wont ramble on here but the full story (and pics) is in the hpt gallery section.

hope everyone else is well. x

Superb123, definitly alot on your plate at the moment. But my vote is to keep moving forward and look into someone who will be ok with cash or some sort of payment outside of what insurance covers- don't let that hold you back, it sounds like you are to passionate to stop.

Wishing4- I hope everything comes back as you need it to!

Off for my op in 40 mins - very scared but know I need it! Hope to be back with the results soon! Anyone with any good news? :dust:

good luck!
wednesday next week i should have all the answers.....i hope.

Hi all I am surprising well after the op. Very bloated and stiff, it's hard coughing and trying to get off the couch  But i've hardly needed any pain killers.
I'm very disappointed as the doc spoke to me when I was in recovery but i was very groggy - and now I don't get to see them until I get a clinic appointment in about 6 weeks, so the only thing I asked was can I ttc? and I can TTC straight away and will go to the EPAU if i get pg - to be looked after or something.
However I have a twisted left fallopian tube and enlarged left ovary but the other is ok. I have endemetriosis, I had a polyp removed and a D+C done. Doc said AF was due as my lining was really thick - i'm only on CD21? Doc didn't even mention my big fibroid? Can't believe so much is wrong with me - a bit shocked. But I have got pg twice with just one tube so there is some hope! I already have a lot of questions for the doc so I hope i get my letter/appointment through soon.
I've never had a D+C before. I'm not bleeding now but do you think I should have called that CD1 of a new cycle? Or do you think AF will still turn up? I'm eager to TTC!

tansey, i'm glad they atleast found out some of whats going on, did they correct as much as they could or this was more exploritory? And it sounds like the odds are still in your favor as you did get pregnant 2x's prior, so :dust:! I imagine there is some healing period before ttc, not sure though. And I don't know anything about D&C's, sorry.

Hey Tansey, yes, record D&C as CD1... It may be a bit of a strange cycle though. There is no medical reason not to start ttc again as soon as you've stopped bleeding. Good luck!! :hugs:

I got all my test results back (apart from the genetics) and apparently they are all ok!!!! :happydance: Which is fab, but not really sure what to think or do next.......

I have an appointment with the consultant in 5 weeks so just wondering if anyone out there in same position could let me know what questions they asked and what advice they were given? was it just 'go away and try again'!!! Was praying they wouldn't find anything but now they haven't I kinda still want some answers....you can't win!!!

Any advice appreciated :hugs: :hugs:

Thanks - This was really an investigation and I won't really know the full extent of what they have done/found/are going to do until i get an appointment through and they were saying 6weeks which i'm not happy about but if I can TTC in the mean time that will keep me going!

I decided to go ahead and say I am on CD1 from the op and not to expect a normal cycle, although I haven't had one of those since before the MC in June anyway
I'm going to TTC straight away and have had no bleeding since the op but don't want :sex: at the mo coz I want to give my hooha a chance to heal - its' not sore but i'm not chancing it yet. Also the stitches in my bellybutton are really pulling so cannot sleep on my stomach or twist or stretch properly yet, so defo more healing time. Plus as naughty as this is I can't help but think :sex: not worth it yet in the babystakes as I'm only on CD4  Will start OPKs soon though in case I have an early one!

Great that all your tests are back ok! I'm not in the same position but wish you luck for your appointment! :hugs:

Hello everyonee :)
My name is Stephanie (19 in 3 days) , BF is Alphonsus (18 Feb) ... We have had 3 recurrent miscarriages since April 09... They were all early & very very devistatingg!!.
My obgyn put in on Prometrium(Progesterone) Vaginal Capsules 100mg... once daily before bed for 14 days from CD 14...
Not sure if I ovulated... dont know if it affects it, but, my ultrasound came back perfect, my blood work came back as part of my thyroidis low, (referring me to a endo when he gets back from leave)... My last miscarriage was 17 daysago today, we had unprotected sex CD 10, cuz we dont want to really try until we find things out...

Does anyone have any advice on Prometrium? or 3 recurrent miscsarriages in 6 monthss?,
thanks in advance

Hiya,

Ive been offski for a while as me and oh decided to take a little break due to the wedding in case Id get pg and have another mc at or around the wedding. I know, its a risky proposition as Im the oldest bird in here (lol) but they way i look at it is 'que sera sera' you know? :)

Im back to ttc and due to ov mid october. I get married on 7th Nov...yay! if it happens (pg) great, if it doesnt, well..what else is new..try and try again, i guess :)

Oh, Mrsjd and the thyroxine mishap..geezo Mrs!! :)

Im on 75mg of Levothyroxine and i too made a mistake (i was told to try 100 for a week to see if i felt better) and took two 50's and one 25 as opposed to one 50 and two 25's. I'd had some bad news that morning so was very upset and enraged so it took me a while to realise why my hands were shaking so much and i generally felt a bit crrrrrazy! LOL! All is well though. It wasnt a big a poisoning as yours granted..:dohh: (<---that's me btw, lol)

Anywhoo, just wanted to drop by with well wishes and a big hug for everyone- what troupers you all are :hugs:

Omi xxx

Ps, anyone know whats the verdict of our own section petition

Hello, welcome to the thread although obviously not great to be here eh!? I have had 3 recurrent mcs in a year. I've had all the tests done and nothing wrong apparently. I've just been told it is bad luck? What tests have you had? I'm not on Prometrium as my consultant said I should go on it once I see him when I am pregnant. At the moment I am trying to actually get an appointment with him but is proving impossible....

I'm sure some of the other ladies will be able to help you out though. We also have a recurrent mc tests/treatment thread that Smiler set up so you can have a look on there to see what test others have had. MrsJD also has high levels of NKC so see that thread too.

Sorry for your losses... it is tough but hopefully we'll all get a sticky bean soon. :dust:

Omi - Good to have you back. How is the wedding planning going? You must be really excited as not long to go?

Fluffyblue - Good luck with your results. Will be thinking of you and make sure you let us know how you get on xx

Tansey - Great news op went well. I think you can give yourself a few days off BDing ha ha... Good luck xx

AS1 - Fab news about your results. I am so pleased for you but can totally understand how you feel. It was a relief there was nothing wrong but at the same time sooooooooo frustrating as it has to be happening for a reason - right? Have you thought of the NKC trial that MrsJD went to? Are you still going to wait?

As for me I am cr*pping it to put it mildly - I recently got a bfp if some of you didn't know. I was convinced I was bleeding today but went to the toilet and was just some cm but will constantly be on knicker watch. I'm desperately trying to get in contact with my consultant to book an appointment with him for next steps but receptionist is just never there. I am due to go for a scan next Sat as don't want to go too early and don't want to go during work time as want to keep it all quiet. I'm concerned that I'm not being given advice as to what to do as some people obviously take something as soon as they get pregnant. I have been taking baby aspirin (consultant was going to talk to me about that at our meeting but I've decided to take it now) and my supplements but that is it.

What did your consultant say to you if you got pregnant again? Are you taking anything TTC on their advice? I'd really appreciate advice as worried this one will go wrong too
