Recurrent Miscarriage Thread

Hi Lambs.

Thanks, furthest I ever got was approx 8 weeks and that was my ectopic, I was on progesterone 400mg and 75mg aspirin then along with folic acid of course.
I usually miscarry around 5/6 weeks.
When I say spotting, it wasn't showing tbh I was having a dig around (sorry tmi) as I am quite obsessive at this stage as per usual.
It was like a yellow/brownish colour, def not new blood, but this is how my ectopic started and the burning sensation has been present in every pg :(
I'm going to try and stay positive, what will be, will be and I am doing all I can.

I took the prednisolone fairly late last night and had a terrible nights sleep, I've took it at 7am this morning as I won't make that mistake again.

More than anything I don't want another ectopic, so will be looking forward to scan next week as would need to catch it extra early to get the methotrexate as I can't afford to lose my remaining tube.

Now, I'm getting carried away which isn't going to help anything, so I'm off to do something to take my mind off it.

Thanks again and apologies for the rant.

Hope you are well xxx.

Thanks Lynnb

That is reassuring. I am probably just over reacting but it's hard not to when you have had so many previous bad experiences.
I only started the progesterone 4 days before my BFP and the prednisolone 2 days after, I'm hoping this is early enough.

I will keep you posted and I am so glad all was well for you xxx.

LeeC when I took progesterone with Ollie i had brown discharge almost like glue every day, I constantly panicked but turned out the progesterone can interfere with the mucus down below and in the end I just gave up worrying it was never blood just a dirty colour all the time and funnily enough when I stopped it at 13 weeks my mucus was white !!

Hi LeeC!!! I read your post about your concern and I hope you don't mind I show up here but I believe I have an explanation for you and hope I'm right!. The most common cause of spotting during pregnancy is from implantation bleeding. Usually this looks brown red because is a old blood that was left behind when the pregnancy embedded in the endometrium lining. A good friend of mine have experienced spotting during her first weeks , same as you describe and now she has a gorgeous little girl.

Other possibility may be, with my last pregnancy, I was told by my physician before I was recommended progesterone that progesterone suppositories can cause spotting and I should not panic if I see it because this is very common. Ask your physician, maybe if you have assurance you will feel much better.
Be strong there!!!. I know it is very hard for you but we are here for you and you are in our thoughts. We want you to succeed!!! I do have high hopes for you with this treatments. Hugs***

Thank you so much Fluffy Blue and Carmina.

I have been on Google and have read that progesterone can aggravate the cervix and cause some spotting.
It is brown so they do say this is old blood. It's just that this is so typical of how it always starts for me, but I don't want to be a drama queen and will remain hopeful. The burning sensation in my lower back is driving me crazy, again I always get this, so not sure if it a pg symptom or start of non viable pg.

Who would think pregnancy could be so complex eh!!!

Thank you again, big hugs and sticky baby dust to everyone xxx.

Girls, I am hitting the vodka and ciggies, maybe even some narcotics, it seems this is the perfect way to carry a pg full term :/

Hey LeeC, That burning sensation from the back could be from the pregnancy, since the uterus is stretching or could be from your urinary bladder that is supra solicited this first weeks. Why don't you call your Family Physician, to ask him/ her about your concerns. I guess is better to call a specialist than stressing yourself for nothing.

Be strong there. You will be just fine just let the stress and negative thoughts go!

Please try not to panic honey. I will have your share of fags, booze and drugs for now. You just keep your chin up. Xx.

Sounds like a great idea, I may join you :haha:

LOL...

I just spoke to EPAS, booked me in for scan next Weds, she said the pain and burning sensation was probably more likely to pg symptoms. I got the feeling she was just trying to calm me down but I appreciated the reassurance all the same.

Thanks for everyones advice. Right, I promise I will keep the melodramatics to a minimum from now on, now....... where is that bottle of JD!!!! x

Oh, I was hoping we could do the melodramatics together

The stress & worry is bad enough after 2 mcs so I can't imagine how this must be for you :hugs:

Yeah it would give my dh a break lol... and it's tough no matter how many times you go through this, my first was as heartbreaking as my last one. Just as well we are all strong women, even though we may not feel it sometimes, I wish it could be different for us all x

I reckon implantation bleed, Lee. I had dark brown spotting last pregnancy at 4+2 - baby was fine til 5.5 weeks so the bleed wasn't the MC. Sister at EPU said to ignore bleeding in week4! Try to relax (good excuse for a foot rub from DH!) and enjoy being pregnant again. Will be thinking of you.

And as for the vodka etc., my consultant actually joked that that should be my medication for the next pregnancy! Seems to work for alot of people!!!

xxxxx

Hi Claire

Thank you for your kind words, it's the pain that is worrying me it's very intense in lower back region now, right hand side only, which is making me stress about ectopic again.
I've spoken to nurse so have the ok to take a couple of paracetamol, wish I could take something stronger.
Here's hoping it eases off.

How are things with you. Have you started the progesterone yet. It's a joy!!!! Lol...

Catch up soon honey xxx.

Just checking in to see how you are Lee. I hope those paracetamol are helping.

Awww thanks Lambs. They seem to have taken the edge off the pain for now. Was shooting into my thigh earlier so spent ages on Google but I'm going to try and chill now.
Nothing more I do will change anything.
Can I ask Lambs, did prednisolone mask any of your symptoms.
My boobs were fairly swollen and tender but seems to have disappeared today.
Sorry, should probs pm you, but I don't have much dignity left these days lol... x

Sod it - I don't mind if you don't! I've only taken it twice and both were fairly short-lived to be honest. This time, I only took the full dose for 5 days and I didn't notice any side-effects at all. I never really get any symptoms anyway though so it's unlikely I'd notice much. I know another girl on here who is now 27 weeks and she is a patient of Prof Q and said she didn't have any symptoms and was advised that the steroids mask them.

Lol... Yeah, that's what I heard, was just weird how my bbs were tender and swollen and now nothing, just like after my m/c's.
Thanks for the reply.
It's gonna be a long week.
Catch up soon xxx.

LeeC i love ur fags an booze combo may give it a try!! LOL i was on cyclogest in my last 2 preg an one 200mg twice a day sorry for the details but hey were all in the same boat!! I had thick off white discharge that was grey at times an i had brown once whilst fishing! Like you did i went to doc an my bloods were all good i like u was to early to scan, an my gp told me to stop fishing coz u can aggravate an cause infection so my advice would be dont fish dont stress i think it sounds quite normal. I have never got passed 11 weeks so i dont no about back pain personally but my sister suffered from start to finish with backpain! Relax an rest hun xx

Hey Leec,
Hope the wait isnt too long before your scan honey.
I posted a message few days ago on the thread to ask how much folic acid you were on.
I see you're taking 400mcg, just wanted to say when I sploke to the private consultant about the prednisilone a few months ago, he said it would be prescribed along with 5 mg of folic acid, as there is a small chance of cleft palate with prednisilone. Can you check it out with Dr Q.?
Hope you dont mind me mentioning it honey, your anxious enough already xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
