Recurrent Miscarriage Thread

Hi Padbrat.

Thank you. I had a cyst on my right ovary last September. It was discovered whilst getting an internal scan after m/c.
They removed the right tube when I had ectopic in January, the pain is on the right side so maybe the cyst is back on the ovary.
No doubt they will check this Weds.

Thanks again I hadn't thought of this. xxx

Claire

So glad you got through to Quenby's secretary. Was it Tina, she is absolutely wonderful, so helpful.
I have been on the phone to her every day this week and was blubbing down the phone prior to my appt, she really is lovely and will advise you the best way forward, she did exactly the same for me and nothing ever seems to be a problem even when I feel like I am stalking her!!!
When I had my appt I said to Prof Q that Tina had been so helpful and to pass on my thanks. It's actually difficult to comprehend when you get someone so helpful lol...

I'm gutted you get a BFN, I will be keeping fx'd for you for next cycle though and hopefully you will have full medical plan in place.

I will miss you Claire, but know how hard going this is and sometimes you need to take a break for your own sanity.

Maske sure you come back when you are ready, you will be missed.

Sending hugs and best wishes for now xxx

LeeC - hope you are hanging in there, every day is like an eternity and every symptom is a cause to worry. Im with you on the fags and booze thing, and maybe conceiving behind a nightclub...
Did any of you take anti-biotics before TTC in case of undetected low-grade uterine infection? Am tempted to ask my GP for 2 broad spectrums, cant do any harm, I havent had much antibiotic in the past?

Hi

I was given Ciprofloxacn 500mg tablets to take for 7days twice a day by my Obg. I was also given the 1mg Folic Acid 3 times a day before trying again. I also had an exam done to make sure everything was looking good.

I've just read the post about the Omega & Vitamins & etc.

When I had my last visit with my Obg. He told me if I was trying to become pregnant to take the Folic Acid 1mg 3 times daily until it happens. He deeply advised me not to take any multivitamins, ibp, and no other pain medication except for tylenol.

He said because they would only take you even longer to become pregnant. They all slow down the process.

I went back to a website that I had visited when he put me on Folic Acid. Here's a recommendation........................
Folic acid is easily absorbed and works just like folate in your body. It is a good idea to get about 800 micrograms of folic acid every day if you are planning a pregnancy.

I wanted to share that piece of info to all the ladies that are trying to conceive. I'm no doctor BUT my doctor gave me this piece of advice. Thanks for reading...

Morning ladies. I thought I'd report a faint BFP this morning on a superdrug test. I'm 9dpo and having had a chemical last month as well as a chemical in January, and 4 previous miscarriages, it is safe to say I am TERRIFIED.

I started the heparin and aspirin last night as I saw a faint line, and I have started the prednisolone this morning. I already take pre-natal vitamins, progesterone twice daily and 5mg folic acid so fingers and toes firmly crossed this time round.

Please wish me sticky thoughts. I need all the positive vibes I can get. This WILL be my take home baby!!

Oh my god, i got a bfp last night....so scared right now, can't go through any more pain... xx

OMG Lambs, Congratulations. I am super excited for you. Welcome to my life lol... I am keeping everything tightly crossed for you. Maybe this is our time. Are you on the prednisolone and progesterone? xxx.

Miss Maternal. Massive congratulations too, it is very scary, I am 4 weeks 4 days, on a medical plan and desperate for my first scan next week, please try and stay positive, (pot/kettle) I am keeping everything crossed for you also xxx.

Sorry Lambs, I was so excited by your BFP, I didn't read your post properly, you answered my question lol... xxx

Thanks Lee. I am on progesterone and prednisolone as well as all my other meds, so fingers crossed. I'm only 3+2 (9dpo) so still 5 days before I will know if I am out of the chemical "woods".

Miss maternal - well done you! What dpo are you?

Hi girls, hope i can join you.....im just going through my 3rd miscarriage at 5 weeks......ugh.....but im beaming with excitement at reading your BFP posts right now!!! :happydance: How fab...........am really excited for you both, wonderful news! Im hoping to join you again soon but going down the NTNP route instead of TTC, its all too stressful that way!

Its lovely to see ladies who have been through similar situations getting BFP's and i wish you all the luck in the world and will be stalking you to check on your progress.......you have just made my day as i feel there is still hope for me yet in getting another BFP and it being my sticky beanie.....:hugs:

Lotsa sticky babydust sent your way :dust:

There is always hope Babyhopes. I know I don't always have high stocks of hope myself, but the ladies on here all share theirs with me when mine is low.

Sorry you're suffering right now. Are you being sent for test?

I had tests done after 2 as im 35 so they looked at me straight away....but as i thought everything came back normal, had chromosome, sticky blood etc done.....i never had my progesterone checked so got tested for that yesterday and awaiting my result.... 'just bad luck' was what my specialist diagnosed it as! :growlmad: Something must be wrong though as it is bang on 5 weeks each time when the bleeding or spotting starts, not sure where to go from here.....:nope:

AFM, well had another little bit if spotting yesterday afternoon, then nothing. Would really like to know what's going on down there. Anyway as I told my DH last night I refuse to go through another mc, this baby is for keeps.

Babyhopes2011 - am sorry for your loss, you are in good company here. Hope you are managing to cope and find reading through all these stories a comfort and soaking up all the information and success stories.

LeeC - how are things today?

I had tests done after 2 as im 35 so they looked at me straight away....but as i thought everything came back normal, had chromosome, sticky blood etc done.....i never had my progesterone checked so got tested for that yesterday and awaiting my result.... I don't know if this will help you but after 3 miscarriages I too came back from tests "normal". I then went to St Mary's (leading recurrent miscarriage clinic in the UK so I'm told) and was tested again for blood clotting disorders. At the time I said "don't bother as I have had these done before" but was advised that unless the blood sample is tested within 1 hour of being taken the results are not accurate. I know my local hospital took the sample at 9am and it wasn't even taken to the right department until 12pm. When St Mary's tested me using the correct protocol, I came up positive for Lupus Antigcoagulant and now have treatment for this. Its just an idea.

I also recommend a book written by Professor Lesley Regan entitled " Miscarriage - what every woman needs to know" or something like that. I found it very helpful.

Good luck sweetie.

Lynn - thanks for the welcome. Sorry to hear you had brief spotting panic. Keeping everything crossed for you.

Thanks very much for the info, just wondered how you got your referral to St Marys? What it through a private referral?? I think the clinic is in London so am wondering if there is another one as good further up north?? I would love some answers so would definetly be willing to travel! Just depends how often i would need to go back down there....would be so worth it if i got sorted tho! Will do somemore research i think. Is this your first pregnancy since st marys? :hugs:

Well im coping ok, still just spotting brownish and no pains at min...i wish it would just get going now coz i want it over with. Ive bn spotting since monday, its taking forever! Ugh!! :growlmad:

Hi Babyhopes. The clinic is in Paddington, west London. I got my NHS consultant to refer me which took about 8 weeks, but I went privately in the meantime as I have semi-private healthcare which covered the cost of this (pm me if you'd like to know more about semi-private as its not that pricey and worth it if they'll cover you.) I had an initial appointment in the evening about 6pm, then some tests the following week, and then went back for the results. So 3 times in total. I have the referral details and private secretary's phone number if you'd like it.

This is my 2nd since St Mary's although the last one was a chemical so I'm hoping it was just bad luck and this one is a keeper!!

I think it may be all over for me. I have just taken a SD hpt and it's coming up negative, I am so confused. I still have the back pain and apart from the spotting have had no major bleeds yet. I will take another Clearblue digi in the morning with fmu, but even the SD tests had a faint lines last week at 12dpo.
I don't even know what the hell is going on anymore, maybe my HCG is just dropping rapidly and the meds are preventing m/c fully taking place.
I am so gutted right now :( does anyone have any experience of this happening with a positive outcome x.

LAMBS!! WOW! great news chickadee.... and not just 1 but two lots of good news with Miss M! Fabby news the pair of you and am praying all goes super for you!

LeeC those pesky tests will give you a heart acttack at this rate... phone your EPU hun and find out definately what is going on.

Baby.... welcome... though am sorry you are here too.

Padbrat. You are so right. I've spent the past half hour looking on the net. EPAS will be closed now, but I may go down first thing and ask them to do blood work to put me out of my misery either way x.
