Recurrent Miscarriage Thread

I will have to check if it was included in the tests my doc has run, and if not give it a sly mention to him! Ive got two girls 15 and 11 and am nearly 42 so god only knows what has developed inbetween having my last and going for my last! Funny Ive also got a sister and aunt with thyroid problems, Ive heard it can be a heriditary thing, my aunt had hers removed as well, just learnt the other week she suffered mutiple mcs as well, funny what you find out from digging around in the old family closet a bit! I also found out there is a history of blood clotting disorders on my mothers side, both mum and my grandfather has some form, mum was actually given weekly injections of something till 14 weeks when she was carrying me, but back then they never involved the patient much and she couldnt tell what it was!

Wow - took my eyes of this thread for 2 mins and....
Hedgewitch - you are an admirable woman!
Mrs JD- so this condition could arise after already having a baby? DD is 3?
Well I've been chasing my tail to get more testing after recent chemical. I just feel so bloody powerless - it's a trial to get GP to call, she didn't do referal (for some reason best known to her!!) so had to chase that up. Called RMC clinic in Bath (only ever get to speak to secretary) who says they have recieved referal and now I have to wait another 8 - 10 weeks to see specialist again!! All I want him to do is to refer me to ST Mary's, surely I don't have to wait so long for that - then I'll have to wait for them another few weeks and meanwhile the clock ticks!!!!! Anyone else been in such a frustrating situation who can advise???

WannaB - the only way to check this is a biopsy of the woman at 7dpo....some hospitals offer bloods test for NKC but to check uternine NKC it must be done by biopsy, which will involve a trip to liverpool. On saying that, unfortunately, you don't qualify for the trial as the max age is 40 however, I know Dr Quenby seen someone on here who's the same age as yourself, it turned out she too had UNKC's. So you should call her PA at Liverpool and ask to speak to her, she's fantastic and so helpful.

Chilli, I'm only going from my experience but bearing in mind my son is 14 so there is alot of years inbetween.

:hugs:

Good Day ladies. I just got my referal for RMC testing. My appointment is on March 8. I was hoping to be able to invade this thread.

A bit of history for those who don't know me. Husband and I were going to start trying in Sept '08, but he backed out. We ended up falling pregnant in Jan 09 which ended in miscarriage. We made the decision to wait 6 months and try again. We fell pregnant right away in August 09, once again ending in miscarriage. I decided after the second loss that I didn't want to wait another 6 months. We started trying again as soon as I got my cycles back. In January I had a strange period. It was the third since my m/c but it was really clotted and I noticed some tissue. I went to the doctor who sent me for testing as she, and I, suspected an early loss. Without notice from my doctor, I got a call from the fertility clinic regarding my referal. Here we are now.

:hugs:

Hi there ladies,

Just saw an item on ITVs "This Morning" show about this woman who had 17 mcs...and because of specific medical intervention she has now gone on to have a gorgeous baby girl...it was something to do with her blood cells, and this Doc pioneered this procedure that helped her baby stick...they are thinking it may be available on the NHS soon...

Phil and Holly, the Presenters say that there will be full details of the story on the website www.itv.com/lifestyle/thismorning/ so take a look (prob be on 2moz).

Hope this helps someone!!!!!

Just a quick q to my buddies on this section, Noels got his SA on thursday, despite the positive APS I have do you reckon there could be any issues with his swimmers? Not really been to bothered about it until now and he is worried !

they could say that is low motility but that acctually isnt an issue and most mens are when they have to drop the lads off at the sauna... lol. because it isnt the same environment as a ladies garden.

Hi ladies haven't been in here for a while - just been plodding along, trying to be 'patient'. It is great to see lots of you ladies with a successful pregnancy now!

We are going for our initial IVF appointment tomorrow (our problem is also getting pg).

I copied this from my siggie for those that don't know me: Currently TTC naturally while waiting for 1 free go of IVF
Me 37, DH 32. TTC #1 since Jan 08, 2 MCs, 1 blocked tube, 1 large fibroid, moderate endo, polyps & infection removed.

Good luck Tansey - you deserve it.
Well I've had confirmation of my referal to ST Mary's in London so feeling a bit more positive as I'm hoping to feel rather less fobbed off - hope that is the case - any of you guys being treated there? ALso does anyone know if I can still do trial you talked about Mrs JD or is one exclusive of the other?

Hi LeaArr, welcome here

Good luck Tansey, hope the one go is all your need, fab its free as well, wish we had that here! Secretly hoping you can get a sneaky sticky bfp in before that and show those docs what for!:hugs:

Hello everyone, I'm Nicky and have been given the link here by a friend. I have spent so long thinking this only happens to me!

So, I had 3 miscarriages last year, June, August and Nov. 1st 2 were very early, 3rd was a D&C at 9weeks (twins):nope:

So now I am early pregnant again and terrified (4wks). Once again I am not feeling pregnant. The hurting boobs from several days ago have gone. Bit of nausea in morn but prob just cos I am over tired.

I know no-one can help me, the very most I pray for is not another D&C it terrified me.

My HPT this AM was darker and thicker than prev 2 (still lighter than control though), am going by the every-2-days rule at the moment.

OH and I have had all the tests going, we are under B'ham Women's.There is nothing wrong with us !! (apparently!!)

Can anyone tell me they feel as bewildered, I feel I am going mad xxxx

hey sweetie, welcome to the thread, believe me i feel just as bewildered, i lost 16 between 8-12 weeks, a ten week ectopic and then got caught with Lilly-Maye and lost her at 34 weeks, 2 weeks before she was due by c-section, all one after the other, 7 years trying for us now, and my hospital do not seem to think there is anything wrong with losing that amount of babies lol, although now they have given me 2 months and then there is nothing more they can do for me, i will officially be classed as infertile!!
the girls on here are amazing and will always offer support where they can, without the girls on here i would have lost my marbles long ago lol
i hope all goes well with your pg, and i know its easier said than done but try not to worry too much hun. you will be nervous but also try to enjoy being pregnant, its such a blessing after your losses.https://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_2_80.gif

Thank you Hedgewitch :hugs:

I think milling around on these boards is a double edged sword, you get support but you get a bit obsessed too:winkwink:

I'm so sorry for your dreadful losses, far worse than mine :hugs:,

I want to just close my eyes and either have a baby or a period! I still think this will go the same way as the others, I don't feel at all pregnant. I will maybe try to ignore it!!! :dohh:

Well I'll go and put my sanitary towels in my bag for work! Defeatist, or realist? I think reading the stories on here, and knowing my history, probably realist

hunny everyone's loss is as devastating as the others, it doesn't matter whether you have had one or like me 18, its still just as heartbreaking.
i remember when i got pg with LM i was carrying sanitary towels round with me for months lol so yeah i can see why after your angels you do it. i do agree with you about the double edged sword though, you can get sooooo much support from here but for me i think its terrible how many of us don't have that ignorant bliss anymore when you first get pg, that innocence has been taken away from us and i feel so so sad about that, its meant to be a time of celebrations and joy but ours will always have a slight undertone of fear and stress.
try to relax a little hun, i know its easier said than done but you still need to try to enjoy your blessing for the moment you have it. i worried all the way through my pg with LM and then when i lost her i couldn't help feel that i missed out on so much when i was pregnant, sending you loves and hugs,xx

Nickynoonoo - Congrats on your pregnancy. I know how difficult it is in the beginning stages getting pregnant again. After my rmc testing I was told that it was 'just bad luck' too and thankfully pregnancy number 4 for me has been successful so far. I know how frustrating it can be getting that... 'everything is normal' answer. In some respects you are so grateful that there isn't anything wrong, but then can you really be that unlucky?

Are you going to take anything this pregnancy? Aspirin? Cyclogest pessaries? What did they say at your appointment? Good luck. Remember that there is no reason to suggest that this pregnancy will end like the others.

By the way - I did not feel pregnant AT all this time until I was 18 weeks and I could feel movement... I promise you hugs:

Chilli & LeaArr - I'm glad your referral has gone through now ladies. I remember getting mine and it felt like finally somjething was going in the right direction. I hope you get some answers :hugs: Just be prepared that sometimes you might not get any though. Like Nickynoo, sometimes you are just left with nothing at all.

Tansey - As you know, so pleased that things are moving forward for you but hoping that this is the month for you :hugs:

Fluffyblue - My husband didn't ever get testing for that and when he went to the doctors he told him that because I could get pregnant then it wasn't an issue. Though, it appears to be down to different judgements.

Babytots - Sent you message about aspirin etc. Hope all is going well for you

:dust: to everyone else xxx

The clinic I was referred to was very upfront about the fact that 50% of couples get no answer as to why they suffer from RMC. I am really grateful that they don't give false hope. I wish the number was more in our favour though. I have never hoped so much that there is something wrong with me.

Hi Widger I know they dont do SA as part of RM testing this was part of our fertility testing. Apparently a weak sperm can cause miscarriage - how I dont know !

Anyway he done it today xxxx
