Roll up, roll up! Statistical chance of at least one BFP! - *15th BFP Announced!*

yay, a PCOS friend! :) do you ovulate on your own? I'm not sure what will happen with me, I'm hoping I will just get Clomid but I'll just have to wait and see. it was so cool seeing my ovaries on the scan :D when did you get diagnosed? xxxx

Count me in! Clomid first cycle, BD'ing everyday until ), and three times a week outside the O time! Woohoo! PCOS too.. damn.

lol! the PCOS friends! Im liking it!!!
I was diagnosed almost 2 years ago, when DH and I thought I was pregnant, I got an ultrasound... of course there wasnt a person inside (lol), but we did see that my right ovary looked like it ovulated, and thats when they realised I have PCOS... Also, this last year I started getting "extra" hair.... meaning every month I have to get my brows and ´stache waxed, but I dont get too much hair.
I tried metformin, but it made me feel sick.. Im pretty slim, and I ended up looking too skinny, I was never hungry, and I was feeling weak most of the times.
I have taken my temperature, and realised I do ovulate, but PCOS messes up with my cycles... for example: 6 months I get 32 days cycle, then I switch to 45, then 35.. and so on... My CM tells me some cycles when Im ovulating.

Good news: my doctor explained me that PCOS does not cause infertility. He says that all cases can be fixed with either metformin, or clomid... sometimes, both! He says that it helps you to get better eggs, make cycles shorter, and helps you to know when you ovulate!
He really gives me hopes! I have to get my annual pap smear this week, and then he will prescrbe the clomid... Ill tell you how it goes!

BTW I made a low gluten diet last year, and then I got shorter and regular cycles... it did help a lot! He explained PCOS is related with insulin resistance, and low gluten food helps you! (I did that as I could not take metformin anymore)

It feel great to know you´re not alone!! :hugs: lets share how we all do!!

i'm happy i'm not alone :hugs:

my LH/FSH ratio is 3:1 and i had my ultrasound yesterday and my ovaries are textbook PCOS, loads of wee cysts around the outsides of each one like a string of pearls :haha: very pretty :haha:

i'm looking forward to being referred to the a specialist! :D i don't know what's going to happen to me yet, whether i will be given metformin or clomid or whatever. i'm kinda hoping for clomid but someone else said to me that they will have to check if my cysts are giving off hormones first? and maybe get rid of them before they will give me clomid? i'm slim too so what you've said about metformin makes me wary of it, i don't really want to lose any weight because i look horrible skinnier :haha:

i'm trying to cut sugar out at the moment, i don't even eat that much sugar but it's still hard!!!

let's get our bfps together pola :D :hugs:

:hugs: yes!!! we have to be bump buddies!!!

Well, as for metformin, dont worry... my doctor said that its extremely rare, that someone reacts that way to that medication! probably Im part of the 1%! Ive heard wonders of it!

Ill try to go to see my doctor on monday!! :)

today I got maca powder so I'm going to take a teaspoon a day in my cereal :) I've read so much good stuff about it balancing hormones etc and it's good for energy levels and stuff too :)

what is maca???? LOL I would try anything too!

Ive heard metformin is prescribed to diabetic people... it helps you with insulin or something... I dont know how to explain it in english, but it works wonderfully on women with PCOS... Ive read it makes your cycles shorter or regular...

Im not that sure... I can investigate, tho! :)

maca - https://altmedicine.about.com/od/herbsupplementguide/a/maca.htm :)

oohh I wonder if I'll get metformin! I'm so excited about something finally happen :)

I WANT MACA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing!

Now, it says its the peruvian ginseng... could it be possible for me to find it easily, as Peru is in the "hood"?.... hmmmm

Very interesting!!!!!!!!!

I dont feel Im in my fertile days!!!!!!! PCOS sucks!! :(

it smells vile! :haha: I'm going to add a bit to all of my cooking, last night I made a pot of soup with maca in it and a loaf of bread with maca in it :)

is it next cycle you'll get Clomid? :) xxxx

does anyone know if its ok to test ovulation around 5 or 6 o'clock evening?
its my first time using it :D

:hi: Hi Samia! I have nooo idea! :/ I guess always the first pee of the day is the best? Im not really sure! :dunnu:

Foquita, found maca! In powder or tablets! I assumed it tastes like rubber, so I got it in tablets! So I guess we are maca buddies! Lol!
Ive heard sunflowers seeds work wonderfully! Ill try with that too! They're delicious!
I should be taking clomid at the start of next cycle!b :)

The SMEP actually recommends you do it in the afternoon because the lh surge typically happens in the afternoon. You just have to make sure you dont drink anything for 4 hours before you take it. I normally take mine in the morning though.

its good to know that!

BTW, foquita, let me know if they prescribe you metformin! I just took a pill of maca... it says in the bottle it says I should take it 3 times a day!

maca buddies and PCOS buddies :haha: I've got the powder and I'm just adding bits to my cooking, I kinda wish I had got the tablets though! I read online that too much can be a bad thing, I'll try to find the article and post it for you :) on the packet it says that one or two heaped spoonfuls is the recommended dose but I'm just using a teaspoon here and there for now, then I will probably build it up :)

I put ground flaxseed, sunflower and pumpkin seeds in my food too :D

I am doing all this but really I'm hoping for metformin or Clomid to sort me out :haha:
