Santa's Grotto???

Bought most of my two year old twins presents, going to have a look at what I have for them and split it between their birthday (3 on 26 November).
Bought my older boys (11 and 8) a Nintendo Switch with two games and slush puppie maker, got to get more ideas for them.

A karaoke machine is a good shout actually... But then I don't know who I would give it to because they all love to sing! Maybe it could be a joint present and could get them a microphone each. My dd2 has the sweetest singing voice, dd1&3 are like shrieking cats!

There was an argos 3 for 2 last year at the end of July, do you think there will be one this year around the same time?

I had a Supersonic SC-31 karaoke when I was around 14, it plugged into the TV for sound/lyrics and was secondly used as a DVD player. Definitely do it as a joint main! Then buy them personal/individual CD's for it. Haha bless them! DD1 is pretty tone death but she's got a lot of confidence with it.

There is one rumoured to start on Friday 27th!

I think that's what I will do. We went to a friends house and they all loved it, so joint is definitely the way to go. Thanks for the suggestion lol.

I will definitely be keeping an eye out for that. Hopefully it's true!

It gets harder as they get older doesn't it, I feel like we're drowning in bloody toys as it is yet there isn't much I can cull at this point as they do play with most of them! Mine are all getting bikes from my parents but I'm struggling for ideas for main presents from us/santa... I like the look of the Thomas super station for my son but not sure if it's worth the money.

My eldest is super girly and almost six. She had asked for her ears pierced (not happening) make up (also not happening) face paints, water baby, enchantamal and in her words 'stylish girls stuff'.

I've just had a look on Playmobil and they have new sets this year, so I may get her the fashion store and bridal sets (she loves brides/weddings).
DD2 isn't as girly so maybe the new dinosaur sets.
I love Playmobil and would rather we stick to one theme then start buying Lego friends etc.

Our poundworld is closing but I just havent had the time to look.

I do want to cut back this year. They have so much already. We had bikes last year only used twice (my fault really as it's hard to take them both out on my own). We have tons of board games and I'm sick to death of the plastic waste with LOL dolls!

I really want to cut back too but i say this every year. My biggest regret is buying them shit loads from babies :(

I was planning on buying less and having a New year holiday instead but ive already gone overboard so far... i never learn. Its a hard habit to get out of!

Is anyone else 'definitely, definitely' cutting back this year?! 🙄

100% cutting back this year. I spent a silly amount last year, I was actually embarassed at how much I spent. I *think*, it was subconsciously a guilt thing because I was due my 2nd baby in January and knew things would never be the same for my daughter again :haha: this year thankfully my son doesn't need or want for much so I'll just half his gifts between Christmas and birthday and then I had a spending cap on my DDs. Its likely we will be buying her a bike so that will be her main from santa and a few extras. No idea what her main from us will be.

Hi my dd's birthday is the 15th Dec and have already got all her birthday and xmas presents apart from pyjamas, book and hot choc for xmss eve box. I got my old doll's house out of my parent's loft and am doing it up for her. I also got a load of bits from Matalan for friend's kids like water bottles with initials on etc so only need to get something for nieces and nephews now-most at age where cash/giftcard is wanted.
Really looking forward to this year as she'll properly understand. Keep saying I'm cutting back. Last year I bought things that she really didn't need late on so am going to try not to do that this year!

I'm cutting back for definite. We have no space for things. The playroom is full, even after multiple throwing outs. Most of the toys have barely been touched bar a few. I cut back in expenditure last year, to the year before so I'm determined!

My biggest regret from last year was buying too many bargains that actually turned out not to be bargains because they all went in the attic in the spring . Not even played with! Waste of money.

We have bought their main present so once DD1 goes back to school in September I will make a start on getting things for them.

Want to be more organised with family members presents this year too. Might even start picking little bits up for them now.

I am cutting back but also I have no idea what to get them - they have so many toys already there is no more room in the playroom tbh

The problem is I just love seeing their faces when they open them etc

I plan to definitely definitely cut back....but tbh as much as I love this group and the grotto it doesn't help as you give me so many ideas and I think 'oooh they'll like that'.

I could never leave the group though, I mean it's July and middle of a heatwave and here we all are ha ha ha

I think my plan is to make sensible choices and not keep trying to match them up for with all the same things. I am not buying for many family members the year either so that will save some money.

X

I love seeing their faces too Twigg ! By the end of the present opening last year DD1 was just opening and stacking not really looking and well DD2 just gave up half way through !

I always want them to have lots to open too but it must get overwhelming for kids.

We are also cutting back on the amount of toys this year, I'm only buying non plastic ethical toys this year. It will probably cost a little more but there will definitely be less stuff!. I've already got a few bits for LO and I want to get onto of extended families pressies this year as its usually the thing I'm running round trying to find last minute.

I might even pick a few foodie goodies up soon :D x

Anybody know how much the amazon fire kids tabs usually go to during the Black Friday event?
