Santa's Grotto???

I'm sure it's usually a fri-tues it runs, don't quote me on that though!

I have ordered 3 lol biggie pets, 3 lol pets and 3 lol glam glitter balls (yes, my girls are obsessed, we already have over 100) as well as a wonder woman costume, Ker plunk and twister.

Mine are LOL crazy too! I do like them but the packaging is awful and makes me feel so guilty when throwing it all away

I hate all the throw away packaging too! but my daughter is also obsessed. I know she would like the big gold glitter ball this year, but I can't help thinking it's a complete waste of money!

I've not got my girls the giant LOL because you already know who it is... Which I think defeats the purpose of lol 'Surprise'... And I don't think my girls would enjoy it as much. They love not knowing who it will be

Two little LOL fans here too, I don't think they're worth half the price but they get played with more than any other toy in the house so I can't complain too much I guess!
I ordered 2 biggie pets along with an imaginext batcave for my son but the pets were both the dog which was a pain... still bought them though as I can exchange one at another store even when the 3 for 2 offer has ended. We have loads of argoses round here so fingers crossed one has the bunny one my oldest wants!

We didn't know this and my sister got my girls one each at £30! They got the same and we were so annoyed.
Even when we buy the pets they get doubles (stops the arguments though)

My mum and sister have just loaded up on them on the Argos 3for2 for their birthdays.

I need your eyes and ears ladies. My girls love their baby dolls lately and I want to get them a cot and highchair but everything is sooo pink!
Anyone know anywhere that does slightly different colours that aren't soooo expensive (seen one but it's £60+)

They're just under £50 for both but these?
Highchair
Cot

DD2 had the pushchair to them and it took a good bashing around! Extremely durable.

Yes these are great. They have white wooden prams already :-)

This will be my first christmas with 2 and i've no idea what to buy for either of them. Baby will be 11 months so have to think of things for christmas and birthday.

I keep coming on hoping today will be the day the grotto opens properly! In the mean time I'm watching last years christmas videos on you tube! It's literally just given me the idea of getting DD a mermaid blanket for her stocking.

Same here hun. My plan to get for my son who like yours will be 11 months, a walker, some mega blocks (I gave away my daughters old ones recently ) some hard back books (pop up books etc) and as a joint present was going to buy both kids a trampoline. I realise it won't be the weather for it but they'd both get use out of it once the weather gets better plus its too expensive to buy for just one! My daughter is similar age to yours and she is getting an electric ride on car for her birthday in a few weeks and some incredibles 2 toys (she's obsessed) her Christmas will be a new bike I think and the trampoline then just some smaller toys I'll decide closer to the time as she changes her mind constantly.

Aww hi Jessy! I’ve not been on much since the TTC thread, what did you call your little boy? DD just had her birthday last week and she got a scooter and some bits. She’s so changeable in her tastes.

I started my lists today.

No I'm more a stalker than a poster these days but I always come back for the grotto!

We called him Austin Finlay. What about you? It's hard to believe they are 6.5 months already and even thinking about Christmas is slightly upsetting because it means I also have to think about his 1st birthday and I'm just not sure I am ready for that :haha:

Aww, lovely name. Our little man is Edward Colin Andrew. It's going so fast this time - he's sitting and sort of bunny hop crawling and I just want it to slow down!

We went to this big local garden centre yesterday and they had an area screened off where you could see they were starting to put out their christmas cards and wrapping paper - made me so excited.

Have any of you got ideas for dd?

She will be 3 in October, so I need birthday and Christmas suggestions. We just made her a reading nook and have switched her room from a toddler style room to a big girl room. She has got a kitchen, a shop, a puppet theatre, a play tent, a big rocking horse and an art table. And a trampoline, scuttlebug and scooter.

She’s really into creative and imaginative things rather than physical things. She’s got a baby born that she’s really into so I was thinking maybe do a wee corner of her room and make it baby borns bedroom? Or I was thinking a dressing up rail? Or an easel?

We prefer to buy her things that will last a few years rather than things she’s likely to lose interest in.

I’m at a loss this year. Family are also asking for suggestions and I don’t know! We have membership passes to a few attractions nearby as well.

when my DD was 3 we did a dressing up rail. We did a mixture of character ones and then some generic ones. I know it may be the wrong time of the year but if you have a garden then a little wendy house might be nice. A toy hoover maybe if she likes to play pretend. Or a nice dolls pram?

Or what about a dolls house/princess castle or toy farm or something?

Playmobil is amazing, as is sylvanian families. We have a huge box full that has been around for 4 years now. Any time the girls get a new set, it eventually gets put in the box with the rest (they keep new ones separate for a while but it gets emptied into the box at some point.)

A balance bike, easel, little vanity table x

Her play tent is like a Wendy house style, we do have a garden but we need a new fence and to get huge thorny bushes cut out so we don’t use it much. I quite fancied the dressing rail idea because she loves to play hairdressers and things so I’m guessing she would love it.

She has just been given all my fiancé’s lego. I’m talking tonnes of the stuff, not the kiddie blocks either. She plays with it so much - I have never looked at anything like playmobil or sylvanian families. She might like it actually.

Unfortunately she is too small for even the smallest balance bike 😭we keep trying. She’s also got a scooter that she is too small for.

She has a vanity table that she LOVES. I forgot to mention that.

Look at the Puky LRM balance bike if you were wanting one. My girl (9th centile for height) got it at 2 and it is honestly tiny, i hunted for a long time. It's not the cheapest but it is an amazing little thing and very hard-wearing. My girls all love lego too, they've actually just sat for 45 minutes building with it, I bought my youngest sone lego juniors last Christmas at just 3, we also have 2 tubs full of the stuff... So yeah, if it's little bits and pieces she likes, definitely look into playmobil. It's brilliant xx

Hello ladies! I knew you’d be around here somewhere!!
I’ve had Christmas on my mind for the last few weeks and have made a good start on the boys! Brought a few bits in the Argos 3 for 2 and amazon reduced a lot of stuff.
We have a beautiful little lady on the way late November so I want to be done and finished before she arrives! Xx

loeylo - ‘santa’ did my DD a dressing up corner in her room when she was 3. i got a really cute personalised dress up clothes rail and costumes and put a full length mirror there with fairy lights etc. she absolutely loved it and still does (she’s 5 the week after christmas this year)

Loeylo could you buy or make a Lego table for her if she’s still into Lego nearer Christmas? Homemade ones aren’t expensive but our kids love ours they aren’t even that bothered by Lego but will sit for ages at it
