Second Time Mommies to Be

I am expecting #2 in October. Total shocker as DD was conceived via IVF. We are happy and nervous as we had been planning our lives around one child.

I am nervous about DD (who will be 29 months when the baby arrives). I have cried about it as she is the center of our world and I worry.

I totally get how you feel. My daughter will only be 15 months though when my baby is born and I feel guilty that I haven't spent enough time with her as an only child and that I won't be able to be one on one anymore when the new baby comes

Jocelynmarie- that's unfortunate about your OH's son. Were you two ever close? He may be going through a rough time. And try not to let your OH's ex's negativity throw you, some people hold grudges until they die :(

Enjoy this *surprising* time in your life! (It was a surprise, right? I think I read that on another post)

We do actually have a really good relationship. He tends to talk to me more than he does my OH. I'm sure I'm just being a worry wart. Thanks for being a sounding board!

Yeah, it was a huge surprise. I was on the pill, so we were actually actively preventing. Baby B will be so loved though. Just still trying to get past the shock.

Congrats Aiden187 and other mums-to-be (again)! I just stumbled upon this thread and read a few posts....hats off to all of you! I am not eligible to join this thread but just wanted you'll to know that you all seem to be handling things well and are great planners. God bless you all with a healthy n happy 9 months.

Hey Ladies, im about 9weeks pregnant with my 2nd. My son is 14months, so will be about 21months when baby no.2 is born.. im stressing a bit as we have alot to sort out, like trying to find a 3bed house, and finding a double buggy that we can afford! but hopefully it will all work out!

We just found out yesterday that baby #2 is on its way! Im 3w3d today. Still super early. My daughter will be a little over (literally 2-3 weeks) 2 1/2 years old when this baby makes its grand entrance! So far this pregnancy has been a complete 180 from my first. I didnt find out I was expecting DD until 5w2d, and it was the faintest of faint lines. I also didnt get sick until 6/7 weeks with her. Found out this baby was coming at 3w2d and the nausea started right around the 3 week mark. With a celebratory "cookie toss" last night!

I'm almost 6 weeks, my daughter will be 2yrs 1month when this baby is born. My daughter is my world and although we were trying for #2 and it is very much wanted, I worry about the bond between me and my daughter changing when a new baby arrives. I know they will both be loved so much, it's just that she's had me all to herself and I don't want her to think she's being pushed out.

Does anyone else feel like this? :)

Hello all :) im not exactly sure how far along i am my first u/s is on the 6th..But anyways im excited to have another baby my daughter is 6 months

I am glad to see so many other ladies feeling the same way i do. I have been having a really hard time sleeping lately because i have been stressing over how we are going to do this. I am afraid that i will not be able to give my son all the attention he needs when the new baby comes. I hate that i feel this way and just wish i could stop stressing and be more happy that i am pregnant!

We are also in a 2 bedroom house so i am thinking we will be able to last a little in this house once the LO is born but we will have to find something larger which is just more stress.2

Aww. Big hugs! I saw this from the main page. The 2nd baby is a million times easier. You already know how to be a mom. You already know what birth & recovery is like. Honestly, it didn't change much at all. I had such a horrible shock going from childless to having one, but number two was just like......... "oh" I know it's easier said than done, but it feels natural.

Yes I'm hoping things will be easier with #2.. We already own all the baby stuff and we're definitely going to be a lot more laid back about it all.

Hi, I am pregnant with no.2.... My 1st will have just turned 4 when this one arrives :)

So far I'm feeling fine, have sore boobs and burp a lot but apart from that :)..... I am hoping I get a bump earlier this time!

I hope this is true too! :)

My friend had her 2nd about 6 months ago, she has a 2yr old too and she admitted to me that it's hard!!... she did sometimes struggle to cope with 1 though :/

I have just got rid of all of our baby stuff!..... I know a lot more mummies now though so hoping for lots of hand me downs :)

I'm 8 weeks with #2 and my DS will be 2 years 10 months when I pop (EDD Oct 14th). I'm desperately hoping for a girl even though my son is my world!

It is totally different this time round for me too -such a relief to hear that I'm not alone! I have had absolutely NO breast changes whereas last time that was the first thing that I noticed.

I'm feeling hideously queasy on and off all day and night and cannot stomach tea or coffee which I normally go through 4 cups a day. I always thought, "Pah, all these second time moms say they're soooo tired with a toddler and being pregnant, but I powered through my 1st pregnancy, I'll be SO fine". Eating my words now! So tired and just 'meh' all the time.
