Sept, Oct & Nov 2011 Mummies and Babies

I was so ready for spring. If end of feb hits and no snow, im over it. Lol. Stupid weather.

I want to diet. Gotta get that going when Ella is done selling girlscout cookies, i have boxes among boxes of them here! lol

Michelle that video is awesome!

I am dying for spring as well. I hate bundling up everyone to get out the door. Ella is usually crying before we even leave. I go most days even for a bit because DH usually has the car and I get depressed sitting in the house all day. Plus the dog whines my ear off so that usually is motivation enough! :haha:

Ha ha, I am sure having a dog would help! I have an elliptical and I did that today since it snowed, but I would much rather take her for a walk! I put her in her snow suit and then put her in our ergo baby carrier. Carrying her helps with the workout part and blocks her from the wind. I am actually enjoying it...or was until it snowed last night!

Michelle- I will probably be on the same diet as you in a few weeks. I want to detox first and then add back slowly. I bought a box of girl scout cookies from the neighbor girl, but I can't open it or I WILL devour it, ha ha!

Acorn, I love my ergo! What do you dress her in that keeps her warm without overheating her? Do you wear her over or under your jacket? Are you still using the insert? :flower:

Sorry for all the questions! I just find it way more difficult to babywear with her in the winter outdoors and I'm looking for some tips.

I love baby wearing in the winer with Cody! I'm afraid I won't like it as much in the summer. He's a little furnace and I have a super big zip up jacket that fit me when i was 9mos pregnant, so I put him in his carrier with a sleeper, and a beanie and then sip the jacket around us. That way we use each other's body heat :)

Libby rolled from back to tummy today. Ekk! It's official she can roll anywhere she wants. Coupled with her ability to inchworm and squirm I've really got to think about baby proofing soon.

Ashley on the otherhand is become the most happy docile baby ever since her case of the colics had disappeared. Loving it!

Day1 of the diet went so-so.. I did the 2 shakes but after dinner I snacked. Today I'm 2 shakes down and looking forward to my dinner. It's only just past noon. Ahh!!! I miss low-carbing.. it was so much easier, tastier and keeps me satisfied. Boo on hubby for not letting me do it.

I am stilllll trying to decide on a baby carrier. Im short and small frame so heard Ergo wont work well for me. Im looking at Angelpack carriers now...my Moby wrap is def not cutting it anymore with Kian being 18 lbs. Just feels like im going to topple over!

I really like my even flo glide. thinking about getting a back one though as he is getting really heavy to wear on my front.

I also want something for back carries. Cooking with a baby on your front is not the easiest...or im sure the smartest. Lol. Draining the grease from burger was an acrobatic act.

Ya! When he was smaller it wasn't so hard but now that he kicks and squirms at grabs, probably better for both of us if he's on his back

I put Lauren in a fleece snow suit. It keeps her warm but she doesn't seem to get too hot. I put a coat or sweatshirt on and then put the ergo carrier on top of that. We are at an awkward stage right now where she is too big for the insert and a little too small without it. I have been going without. She can't really see out, but that also blocks the wind for now. What have you been doing? I always love to compare notes! ;)

The ergo works well for me. I am small framed, but tall. I am not sure how well it would work on a shorter person.

I start my diet Monday and have found that I keep eating bad things because I won't be able to soon, ha ha.

Lol, I can see someone sitting in their kitchen "just one more time, just the last time!!!" shoveling brownies in or something.

I usually have Kian just in a fleece jammie type thing and a hat and mittens. He is a heater so when he is wrapped in teh Moby he is warm. I think the last time I needed more clothing on him though his cheeks got pretty pink. I usually just had a sweatshirt on with the wrap...He isn't fitting well though in the Moby so I need to stop going until I decide on a soft structured carrier. I was told the Ergo is great on taller people but straps done cinch tight enough for shorties. And im quite short. But before hearing that I was so getting the gray galaxy one. So cute !

I am only 4ft 9" and the close baby carrier/sling works well for me. Alana loves it.

so last night I decided I had enough of Alana just wanting to sleep on me so when she woke at 12.55am for a feed I fed her and then at 1.11 I put her down while she was still kind of sleepy but not completely out. She moaned and grumbled, I picked her winded her again and put her back, repeat until 1.40am I then decided that she was just trying to sleep on me, so I lay in bed and listened to her grumble and moan (no real crying) I got up put in her dummy again and finally at 2.21a, after I put her dummy in again she went to sleep. After her feed at 4.45am she went down like a dream and then today for her nap she also did it, as she soon as she clicked I was just replacing her dummy and not picking her up.

I am hoping we are now going to get back to normal as I have git nothing done while she has been sleeping on me.

I need to get something easy to feed in as I am getting really bad back , neck and shoulder feeding her. My old injury is playing up, anyone know what kind of carrier/sling is best for breast feeding?

Second day in a row where the girls are on totally different sleep schedules. Bah! They are eating on the same schedule thankfully but sleep-wise, one goes down as the other wakes. At least their night sleep hasn't been affected (knock on wood!)

No suggestion on the carrier for BFing. I have a BabyBjorn for regular use but I can't imagine one could use it for BFing.

I have not really used a carrier yet so can't really say either.....Nor have I nursed in any. Would be nice to be able to though.

Just orered my first SSC! Its a Robins Nest Birdie Buckle carrier with petite straps. Im excited to get it and try. My little monster better like it!

I agree - back carrying is awesome! Here's me with William in our Bali Breeze woven:

Tbh, I've never nursed while BW. I think I would need a nursing top as my boobies are little and don't exactly flop enough to be pulled out of the top of a shirt.

i thought i'd lost this thread but then i found it :happydance:
sma- i was just told i have the coil with hormones?
shelleney- i used to have depo and liked it i'm thinking of asking for the coil out and not using anything for a bit to get back to normal not having sex at mo

i was meant to be going away this weekend for my bday with oh but his parents looked after Travis Tues n he cried while i was gone (1 hour) as he missed me? so they thought it might be best if we didnt go and my boyfriend said he would be too worried. Dont know what they're like but will be looking at reviews. Skye is finally big enough to make me start to ache, lol. We were feeding in our Kari-me and that was great for the first couple of months but I cant seem to get her in the feeding posistion any longer as she seems to long!? I could just be me as I am sure they are meant to be able to nurse in them till 6 months but I am not sure. Well done on the sleeping.

Littlestars- That sounds tough with your LO's sleeping at different times, hope night times stays ok xx

Hope everyone and LO's are doing well.
xxx

Yes, I have seen it, leaky boob did a link. I spoke to hem and dy have no uk suppliers so it will cost an extra 15 dollars to send to uk. I am scared if I but one she won't use it.

I have been told by the breast milk bank they will collect my milk, so now I am waiting for my milk bottles. Whoop.

I hope you get your cyst sorted in March Adele.

Thanks for the video Michelle, it's soooo lovely seeing all our beautiful babies!! x

Skye is on solid now... we started off with Rice and now am onto Breakfast, Lunch and Fruit for tea. She LOVES it! I tried and tried to hold off but she was so ready, crying and grabbing for my food bless her!

Hope everyone and their babies are well xx
