septembryos baby area (09 babies)

Oh and birth stories:

number 1: overdue, induced, nightmare, episiotomy, ventouse, forceps, PPH
number 2: listened to my body not the biatchy judgementals and had a natural delivery with no pain relief other than mother nature and her endorphins...crazy!

xx

aww misswren sorry to hear your first labour didnt go as well as you hoped but glad you got your natural delivery the 2nd time round. its one of the reasons why i was determined to get my lil girl out before they induced me as i was petrified i would of needed intervention not to mention not get my waterbirth lol.

fingers crossed you get another natural delivery this time round too. x

ive got to admit my main nervs are cos bug babies run in my familyl and my OH's, i was 10 lb at birth, and got stuck x

Apparently bigger babas are a bit easier coz they can't wriggle back?? Is that a myth?

Mine were 7lb 11oz and 8lb 12oz so I could be in for a big un this time hehe :)

Yh apparantly bigger babies have the strengthto help themsleves get out, whereas tinet babies get too tired and slip back.
Abbie only weighed 6lb1 and I was pushin for 2 hrs with her, when she finally came out she had a bruise on the back of her neck where she had got stuck :(

Im not gna b around much today as Im off to work in my sisters office, so will catch up with u all later. Hope you have a good day :hugs:

***steps tentatively into the thread***

Morning loons, how are we all??

On the subject of births, I want a waterbirth but of course it depends on if I can get to use the pool as it can't be guaranteed. I just love being in the water, I find it really soothing. I'm trying not to pin my hopes on it though as it will just make it more traumatic if I can't have a waterbirth. I definitely don't want an epidural though.... something about them just really bothers me!

Anyway, hope you're all going to be nice to me today?????? Don't make me get my stick....

:)

Im always nice =]
and i want to be in the bath for the whole of the first part of labour, then i want to have a walkin (mobile) epidural. An i wana give birth on my knees leanin on my beanie bag!!!!! =] x x x
i want lots of dance music, an lots of candles!!!!!!!! x x x

Morning girlies and morning to our one special OAP!!!!

I love water but couldnt have a water birth, all the vids I have seen have shown the partner not as involoved in the birth and I want mine as involoved as possiable! Going to try for a homebirth though, not sure if I will be allowed so will see!

I have my midwife appointment today, hubbys got day off work to come to! Not sure if I will be allowed to hear heatbeat I hope so, kinda looking forward to appointment but also not, so glad hubby is home to go with me!

Ok, ppllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaasssssssssssssssssseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee can we stop with the B word talk???!!!
It's totally stressing me out, we're banned from talking about it or anything to do with it in my house and I can't be thinking about what type I want, all I know it that (don't judge me) I want all the drugs available to mankind and I don't want to have to think about it for a second beforehand.
How do you all know what you want???!!
And having done it before, what on earth possessed you to do it again???!!!
OK, sorry, I'm freaking out, going to go and make some chamomile tea to try to calm down....

Sorry 10thSept! My personal approach is that I want to think about it all as much as possible in the coming months... it's all seriously scary stuff, but I figure I'm better off facing and dealing with my fears now so that I have months to calm down. Don't get me wrong, I'll still be nervous, but I think I'll deal with it better than if I tried to not think about it.

But, everyone's different :)

I don't know any more details of what I want though, just those two basics. I haven't got the whole thing planned out yet by any means....

I know the sticking your head in the sand approach isn't the best one, but if I think about it, I want to rewind or fast forward! Ok fast forward, because still want the baby, but the way it gets here is just too truly horrific to be vaguely possible to think about. I'm a wuss, I know!!! :-(
and as for age, I don't know how old anyone is, because I'm a seriously non-facebook person, but if you're born in the 70's firegal, you really can't be ancient and all these children should leave you alone!!!!
(I was born in 80, so almost 70's!)

***hands 10th sept some Kalms!

Chill hun, take 10 and breathe! You cant go back now, your m/w will soon be talking to you about this!
As you already know there are different kinds of pain relief, there are disadvantages and advantages to both,

Pethedine, it sends you to cloud cukcoo land, but you can loose control and tear badly as you dont know what your doing!

Epidural Is great it numbs you from waist down but you have no movement and cant walk around

Gas N air is a short burst of relief during the contraction, but you are in total control and take it as and when you need it!

I used just gas n air and a bloody good birth partner and he was out within 5 hours!! this one Im hopeing will be quicker!

believe me when they say as soon as that babies in your arms you will be saying pain? you mean there was pain!

If you panic it will be worse, one good bit of advice I have been taught and always remeber even in situs like this, is
to get over a fear you need to step into the fear first!
so dont panic, dont read loads horror stories, rant away at us as much as you need to, and breathe!!!! ask as many questions as you like,

:hug::hug::hug:

OK my serious bit for the day is done.........

Now weres our favourite OAP!! :happydance::happydance:

lol 10th sept calm down woman. you know what i was like you before i had my eldest was cacking the birth i am the biggest wuss going when it comes to pain. though i was determined not to have any pain relief and do it au naturale. i would hear horror stories from everyone how much it hurt etc etc and i was petrified. when i did go into labour i panicked (worse thing you can do btw as makes the contractions oh so more painful) but when i got to the hospital and was around the midwifes and in the pool sucking on the gas and air i calmed down and it was so much better then i expected. yes it is painful but the thought of your baby gets you through it.

with my 2nd i was actually looking forward to the birth and i was so much more calmer when labouring with her. i learnt how to breath through the contractions properly and didnt get tense and scared.her labour was even better then my first.

this time round i sooooo cant wait to give birth again and its in the my top 3 fav things in pregnancy. 1st being scans and seeing my baby 2nd being feeling the baby move and the 3rd the labour.

oh and siyren i dont think the size of the baby will matter. my eldest was 7lb 4oz and she got stuck (my own fault as i pushed when i was told not to but i couldnt help it) my youngest was only 6lb 4oz so a pound smaller then her sister and i found pushing her out more painful go figure lol.

marg hope your m/w app goes well and you get to hear your lil boys h/b.

just a quick catch up from me off to get dressed and go do some shopping x

Im 27 (28 in nov) I hate pain. I stub my toe and im crying! believe me your womenly instinct will take over and you will be fine xx

OK, see I'm such a wuss I'm now crying and my heart rate is through the roof
I don't think I deserve to be a mum if I'm such a whiny pathetic wuss!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for your support, it's reassuring to know people go through it a second time, but still freaks me out.

oh ignore me i thought it was marg that was having the m/w app and its star-dust!

*goes and finds her normal brain to swap with the pregnancy brain she now has aquired*

hope your m/w app goes well stardust. x

babytots I did wonder :rofl::rofl:

Make you laugh, my hubby and I were talking about before we married last night, I said I cant remember not being married...
he turned round N replied, you know thinkin about it I cant remeber when I wasn't pregnant!
I looked at him burst out llaughin as what he said dawned on him, he dove under the duvet peeped out and started coming out with words that closely resembled pregnant in the hope of regaining himself but it just made me laugh even more!

a bit later, lights out I half rolled onto m back, facing away from him when he reached out anc grabbed my boob and pulled me towards him, yelping I said OI , he said Oh bugger sorry thought that was your shoulder.........!!!!!!!!!!

men!
