septembryos baby area (09 babies)

I think Izzy is doing the same Vicks, she has started waking numerous times a night, and all she wants is her dummy or a cuddle, I havent given her more food at night but have given her more milk during the day and some rice. I'm not sure whether its down to her teething or growth spurt but it is getting better, shes been doing it for about 2 weeks and its a shock to my system!!! Some nights she woke at 12, 2, 4, 4.10, 4.30 etc etc, but a dummy would settle her. Hope it helps a bit.

Izzy & Joe really are in-sync with each other! We always seem to have the same questions & growth spurts at the same time :hugs:
I'll see how he gets on tonight, but might have to offer him 1 feed during the night, but will definitley give him a dreamfeed before I go to bed, which might help. I can feel a few teeth coming through I think, just below the gums, but one at the top front is a definite. Must be so sore for them

They are arent they? Its funny i was thinking about asking about her waking in the night but didnt really know how to word it, because its not over reliance on dummy, or hunger necessarily. Hope the dream feeding works, i think i am going to try that too if it continues. Mind u forgot to say earlier one thing that may have helped us a little is we give her however much she wants at the last feed and the other night she took 10oz!!!! Teething must be horrible, bless him. I dont really know what i am looking for with Izzy, i think she is, but when i feel i am not sure what to look for iykwim?

Joe's the same, it's not the dummy or hunger, I think it might be being uncomfortable that wakes him up :( Wow, 10oz!!

With Joe, I made him laugh by tickling his chest when I was changing his nappy so I could have a good look at his gums. Difficult to see though!! But when I put the teething gel on, I can definitely feel the top front one and possibly a few others...But saying that, I hadn't felt his gums before he started being like this, so those bumps may have already been there lol!

You're right its uncomfortableness, Izzy always wakes in the morning talking to herself, but when she wakes now in the night she is crying, i have waited to see if it was just a whinge but it gets a bit more hysterical if i dont go to her. Poor things, i'll have a proper look at her gums when she next cries or laughs!

hi,

blake was waking during the night and we thought it was hunger/teething etc BUT he was just cold. we bought him some thick/fleecy babygrows/sleepsuits and he slept through.

nappy cake is great - if you can get the bits cheap enough (inc. packaging) you can make loads of money by selling them. there was a lady selling them at school xmas fete from £10 (basic flannel or sponge, baby vest and sleepsuit and few newborn nappies) upto 3/4/5 tier versions at £60+.

yeah i think i went a bit ott on that one...blanket,flanel,towel,sponge,soap,nail clippers, hair brush and a teddy lol...might nip to poundland n get some toiletrys n do another one

So Joe woke 4 times again last night :dohh: Wow, it's strange how quickly you get used to getting sleep again and I'm shattered!
He wanted a cuddle & dummy 3 times and we putting teething gel on the last time at 4am and that seemed to work. But I'm gonna follow your advice Amy and put thicker clothes on him tonight, see if that works.
How was Izzy last night Scally???
x

lhamil88 - if you can get packs of 3/4 items like the flannels and socks in £1 shop, a pack of newborn nappies is about £3-4 and could be split easily. it will work out cheaper for you - if you can spend less than £5 on each 1 you can sell them for £10 and make nice proffit.

take a look on ebay, there are laods of various designs and prices. may give you some more ideas.

sorry to hear Joe is still waking. blake woke earlyier last night than he has been doing, had his bottle and went back to sleep.

Vicks- sorry to hear Joe woke loads. Izzy woke at 1.30 then 2.30 then 5.30 was chatting away to herself like it was time to get up, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. I should take the teething gel to bed with me that might work. I think i might feed her tonight if she does it again. Did u dreamfeed?

Amy- thanks for the tip we tried a fleecey sleepsuit on her last night but she still woke up.

Yeah, we did a DF at 11pm but he still woke up :( I really don't think he's cold but am going to try a slightly thicker long-sleeve vest thing under his sleepsuit tonight, see if that works. But he definitely has that front tooth coming through, I can feel it even more this morning, poor little mite.

Oh Scally, forgot to say earlier, happy 4 months to Izzy :) x

Thanks Vicks :headspin: Its gone so fast!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for Joe tonight, poor little mite though with his first tooth.

sorry thicker sleepsuits didnt work. they did with blake which is why i thought i'd suggest it.

probably going to be shot down but if teething have you thought bought rubbing brandy or whiskey onto gums? my dad did it to me and my sis and i did it to me eldest 2 and when we thought blake had 1 coming few weeks ago i did his as well. (blakes has gone again - he had a definate white patch under gum that was solid, was tehre for nearly 2weeks and it gone again!)

hi,

blake had 2 meals today!!! he had fruity porridge for breakfast and 1/3 of a jar of cottage pie for lunch. wasnt as bad as i thought - he only spat the 1st spoonful at me and got me in the face. LOL! he then ate all bar about 2 spoonfuls. he is still having 8oz bottles and lots of - we're back at 2.5hrs apart (hence why giving him 2 meals).

we have loads of snow here (2-3inches) and its still snowing, only snag is its the dry powdery type that doesnt stick together so kids cant make snowmen.

hope everyone is ok and not snowed in. x

We haven't had anymore snow overnight. I think we're due to get loads more today and tomorrow :( I can't wait for the summer!

Hope everyone is ok. I can't believe Joe will be 4 months old in 2 days, time has gone so quickly xx

Amy- thats good about Blakes meals!! well done him.

As for the snow we just walked into town and i'm so happy my OH was there, he had to use all his muscle to get the buggy through the snow! I'd rather do that than drive in it though!

Vicks- it has gone amazingly fast hasn't it?!

Aww was just flying by and noticed sooo many 4 month babas now! Paloma was only just 3 months last weekend!!! :)

Ahh.. Bless little Paloma!

Well done on the 2 meals Amy!

It's still snowing here... but I quite like the snow!! Isaac is fast asleep.. after screaming when we tried to give him a bottle - he's started to be a right little pickle with that.. so the plan of one bottle a day is going down the pan! Although I think I am going to start trying him with baby rice, and ideally I need him eating something before I go back to work!!

xx

hi,

it seems really strange that some of our babies our still "little and young" (ie paloma = 3months) and then there's the likes of blake whos nearly 5months.

blake didnt like plain baby rice (dont blame im has no flavour) so after a week of trying rice i gave in and got baby breakfast - fruity yoghurt and he had that at lunch time fine, he also had baby fruity poridge for lunch. obviously they have now been moved to breakfast time now he is eating baby jars at lunch.

the snow has cleared slightly but its still really cold and slippery. i want more snow so i dont have to go out.

All the first baby stuff in the shops still says from 4 months is fine doesn't it, all cereals and the like.
Paloma is 14 weeks now and I know I started weaning her sisters at this age as they would be 16 weeks past due date and I make big babas too :D I have bought some plain baby rice but I don't want to stop start or anything so might leave it another week or 2 til she seems to need more :D
