hi,

not tried anywhere yet as dress arrived yesterday. not got a primark near me - 2hrs by bus!!! (hr by car but i dont drive) and DP i have to get 2 buses to get to. got go town today so going to take it and see what i can find. i'm thinking a rust colour as my shoes are a tan/rust brown. BUT it depends on if i can find anything.



blake has just sneezed most of his breakfast at me - i gave him a spoonful and b4 he swallowed it he sneezed and this happened 4times! LOL! i didnt put pepper in his porridge.

We have had a day in, we both have a cold, came on so quick, and those bloody people who were supposed to be round to look at 2, cancelled 10 mins before so i'd run round cleaning like a looney for nothing! Mind u got some more coming at 11.

Hows everyones day been? How did it go at the docs Rach?

Hi Scally, we are good thanks...Noah has been coughing quite a bit this morning, but i don't think its the onset of a cold. He's getting very clingy lately...cant put him down with out him screaming. He has also started to lift his arms up in the air when he wants to be picked up .

Hey Diz- ahhh bless him holding up his arms, that must be soooo lovely, cant wait for izzy to do that! Izzy over the last couple of days will not be put down but think it may be either teeth or her cold.

hi,

if i had carpet i think blake would be crawling. he gets up on his knees and hands and as soon as he tries to move he slides down as we have laminate. but this doesnt stop him trying. but he can get about - he rolls around and kicks his legs about.

apart from his "hello" which he has said for weeks he has come out with "teddy" or "daddy" we cant work out which it is as both his teddy bear and daddy get the same word. bless him. i'm a bit annoyed that he doesnt even try to say mumma etc. but middle son didnt say it for ages and then suddenly came out with "mumma MOO!!!" LOL!

We had Joe weighed today and he was 17lb 15!! Gonna start weaning tomorrow, I'm really excited HV said we don't have to start with baby rice, but we're going to and then pear puree.

I can't wait for him to put his arms in the air to be picked up, must be so nice!!

Scally, hope you & Izzy are feeling better soon

hope it goes ok with weaning. dont be dis-heartened if he spits it at you or cries. make sure you are not in a rush. as i said few days ago its all new for LO - they no longer get it pouring but at intervals. pm if you want help/advice or on here if your not bothered about others reading. x

So we started weaning today!! He had a taste of baby rice and didn't seem bothered either way about it! He didn't seem to take any, smacked his lips together, but I suppose it's all new, not sure what I expected him to do!!

cant remember with eldest, middle 1 spat almost all of what i gave him whether sweet or savoury etc for about 2weeks and sceramed but then turned into a pig! and blake has taken to it straight away.

as he wasnt quite 4months we started with 2 baby spoons of powder mixed with milk - he didnt like plain baby rice so i bought 1 of the 4month breakfast and added a pinch of that to the rice to add flavour and he ate it. he now has about 7 baby spoons of breakfast or half slice of toast! and has a "large ice cube" portion of whatever i have frozen for lunch (i have big and little ice cube trays and the small wernt enough). we are slowly bringing in his 3rd meal but it tends to be a sandwich (messy), sticks of fruit and veg etc that he can hold.

Thanks Amy I'm gonna try baby rice again today and then I have some pear puree in the freezer to try tomorrow. I don't know what I expected him to do, lap it up like a cat I suppose lol!! Anyhoo, I'll see how we get on this afternoon. Baby rice takes horrible though, so I'm not suprised he doesn't like it!

Mason wont eat baby rice, it takes bloody rank anyways lol....tbh he isnt a big puree fan, he prefers pear slices, and other food food lol

oooh and yesterday was mine and OHs anniversary, was lovely i got treated to my nails done was lush

ahhhh, Rach, that sounds lovely! Noah doesn't mind purees, but to be honest, he much prefers the BLW method.

Hey ladies! Just curious how much everyones little ones are weighing in at? Casey was 17 lbs 5 oz over a week ago. Her next shots are at the end of the month and I'll have the opportunity to have her weighed and measured again. I've been told she's big for her age, just wondering how others were doing!!

Oh, and another quick question. For those of you whose LO's are having three meals a day (pureed or otherwise), about how many oz of formula or breast milk are they taking on top of that in a 24 hour period?

hi,

blake has 2 proper meals - breakfast and lunch and then "sort of 3rd" with stuff he can hold/eat etc - more gets squashed thaneaten! on top of this he 6x7oz bottles of milkand 2x8oz juice every 24hrs!

i gave him atuna sandwich at lunch it went everywhere - in his hair, up his nose, down his vest, the floor. there was only 1 finger of the 4left (1 slice bread folded in half and cut into 4 fingers).

That's too funny amy!! I hope you have pictures!! I just started giving Casey juice. She has between 2-4 oz a day. She has somewhere between 24 and 30 oz of formula on a good day. Some days it may only be 18-24oz. She is having 3 meals a day (all puree). Her 3rd meal often contains some form of meat. She is gaining wait and is happy and healthy so I guess everything is ok. When it's your first you always think you are doing it wrong I guess!!

Good morning all!

Vicks- HAPPY 6 MONTH BIRTHDAY TO JOE!!!!! Hows the weaning going now? Izzy loved the baby rice, but not keen at first on the stronger flavours! She likes purees but also BLW sometimes- she absolutely adores crackerbread- highly recommend that as it dissolves in their mouth- can be a bit messy though!

Jodi- we are having Izzy weighed on Monday, my guess is that she is about 19lb now! I am hoping she not over that as she'd then be too heavy for her carrier and bouncy chair! She is having 2 meals a day (and alot at a time), still having 4 bottles, adding to about 28 oz a day.

Amy- bless him with his tuna sandwich, do u bath him straight after- we ocassionally give izzy mash etc for dinner, when we know she is having a bath after!!! lol

Rach- Sounds lovely, your hubby is soooo nice!

Hope everyone is good and your LO's. Me and Izzy are at the end of our colds now, been a rough week, i felt so ill, and she was screaming, and clingy too, my OH was lovely though and did all the night duties which was great! Mind u now she is either sleeping through, or having a chatter to herself at 4am then getting herself off to sleep- but it was nice to know i didnt have to get up if she did whinge!
