septembryos baby area (09 babies)

Well got her weighed- 18lb 14!!!! But the HV was an idiot!!! We asked her about the lactose thing, and she obviously didnt know what she was talking about and came out with some very random things!!! Also said that no baby should be on Soya????? Also the HV said that she had jumped up a line and put on lots etc etc, when we got home we saw that she had charted her wrong, and put that she was 5 months not 6- so she's actually following exactly the same line, doh!!!!
Amy- welcome back, glad u had a good time and it wasnt too cold!

hi,

thanks scally. was nice to get away for a few days.

soya and lactose - HV wont agree for babies to go on it! if you have concerns with LO to do with milk etc go and see your GP. Blake has been on soya since he was 3weeks old (and theres nowt wrong with him!) he was put on it as he was projectile vomiting after every feed - to the extent he had to be completely changed, whoever fed him had to get changed and the floor/sofa etc had to be cleaned. HV told me i was feeding him too much. i spoke to GP as this was exactly how other 2 were and they said he lactose intolernant and put him on soya.

i get 4 of the big tins a month on prescription FREE, if we need more than the 4 then we have to buy it, dec and jan we came very close to having to buy but managed with juice in middle of day.

Hi everyone!!

Scally, Izzy is doing really well hun :)

Amy, Glad your holiday was good and not too cold!

We've got a busy week, out today with a friend and her little boy, then bits-and-bobs to do all week. Weaning is going well, so far I'm using a mix of jars (carrott & potato, he had that for 2 days), puree pear and baby rice. He's eating well now and so from tomorrow we're gonna start having baby rice or fruit puree for breakfast too!!

xx

Darn it, my new ticker isn't ticking over!! It's still showing Joe as exactly 6 months old :dohh:

Vicks- soooo pleased the weaning is going u, well done Joe and well done u!

Thanks hun! I don't know how people use only puree's, when you have to introduce so many new foods over the next month or so! I have so far only puree'ed carrott and pear, I have apple to do tomorrow, but my book says to introduce potatoe or sweet potatoe and parsnip this coming week, I'll be constantly purree-ing lol!!

I started out on jars- so could introduce alot more foods. After a while i have done sweet potato- so easy to cook! Potatoes, and mixed veg i use alot with the baby sauces. I blew up my hand held blender this week though pureeing pasta!! so wont be able to do it for a while! lol. Have also introduced chicken and turkey through jars this week, will puree them at home once i have a decent blender! lol.
Strange how your ticker is not moving on!

Hey everyone!

had masons photos omg amazing, so much better than venture and cheaper lol...he was a little poser pictures where beautiful!! :cloud9:

how are we all ?

blake wouldnt take to jar food, i had to practically force feed him some over the weekend as i couldnt take frozen cubes with me. he has whatever we have - i cook extra and puree and freeze it then he has meals for few days. i also puree fruit and veg and mix it with baby rice. but he is starting to have finger foods as well. (messy!!!)

i am going to give him a bit of pizza tonight! LOL! he's going to end up like an umpa lumpa from charlie chocolate factory.

Thanks girls, you've made me feel so much better! I thought I was terrible for using jars, but I'm pureeing fruit, just not the veg!!

Glad the photo's are nice hun!! Did you end up buying many?

Hope everyone is ok. Weather has been fab today, I've hardly been at home!! Off to see the new George Clooney film tomorrow night with one of my best friends, but am worried about missing Joe while I'm out :(

Casey weighed in at 17 lbs 12 oz today! Her weight gain seems to have slowed down since starting solids. Anyone else find this with their babies too??
Casey is a great eater, not picky at all. I've introduced a ton of homemade purees. I make them and freeze them in freezer bags. Any suggestions any new things to try? Any foods in particular your LO's love??

Hello and good afternoon! I've been sick again. I swear we are always sick here!

Double post!

But I'm going to add:

I think I may have ovulated on the 14th without even getting the :witch: back. I'm still breastfeeding, so I did some reading and asking if that's even possible and they all say it could happen. Lennox hasn't been eating much because of his cold and on some info I got that can cause ovulation to occur. I'm going to wait and test around the end of the month to test, but how exciting to possibly be in the 2ww. :cloud9: Even tho I was so done. Why did I given to temptation!? :dohh:

hi,

jodi - the weight will slow down when they start solids as they dont get the same amount in oz as they do with milk PLUS babies tend to be more active and moving (even if only moving arms/legs up/down). as long as HV didnt seem concerned dont worry.

as for faves - blake adores
*chicken curry and rice (home made curry - colemans powder mix),
*taccos with mince
*sweet & sour chicken and rice
*he also loves cucumber, carrot, grapes and apple sticks that he can hold.
*he likes sandwiches (tuna, cheese spead, jam, marmalde, lemon curd) but makes a real mess!!! (see pic of tuna sandwich few pages back!)
*toast
*ready brek with ..... (jam, spinkling of sugar, fruity baby yoghurt powder)

*he has also had spag bol, lasagne, garlic chicken and pasta, pizza (messy as didnt blend it!), cod, wedges and peas, mixed veg (on its own), sunday roast (beef and lamb -complete with veg, yorkshires etc), mince and pitta bread with beef gravy, enchilada's (mexican),

*he eats but pulls faces at melon (all colours), pears, lettuce (he stole from OH plate), yoghurts.

*he refuses to eat banana and any jar of baby food.

mom2pne - pics are great, as for another LO, i dont know what to say. if your happy about it then great.

its horrible here, i cant get out of house as middle son has gone down with scarlet fever! i was well shocked when doc said it as i thought it had died out yrs ago, but apparently it made a come back about 2yrs ago but its much milder than it was upto the 1960s! son is on anti-biotics, it didnt help that he had a major asthma attack at school on mon and was sent home. its highly contagious and we had to watch other 2 24hrs after son came out in rash but they are fine, so eldest is ok to go school.

i cant remember if i told you all but blake can "crawl!" its not hands and knees as when he tries this he slips as i have laminate flooring BUT he moves like a seal - flapping arms and legs and can move. its really funny. PLUS when you pick him up and hold him in the air under his arms and say dance he kicks his legs in "an irish dance fashion". he is so comical i tell you.

Amy that's great that blake can crawl! Sorry Mackenzie has scarlet fever. I hope he feels better soon! That's no fun. See I thought it was gone too, but my son, Ty got it when he was 2 or 3. I hope the others don't get sick!

Amy- gosh poor thing, didnt know scarlet fever was around again, how worrying, hope he recovers soon. Bless Blake and his crawling and irish dancing, soooo cute!

mom2pne- when are u going to test? Your pictures are lovely, thank u for sharing.

Jodi- i am not sure if izzy's weight has slowed down, she is following the same line, and is almost in her 9-12 month clothes!!! but i do think the lines slow as they get older and are weaned. Izzy has tried a few foods now- pasta and tomato baby sauce, chicken, potatoes, lots of veg. She likes holding and eating crackerbread, sweetcorn rings (like crisps), mash potato (very messy), and custard!!!

Hows everyone and LO's?? Been quiet in here!

with regards to scarlet fever, its no where near as serve as it was 40+yrs ago. thankfully antibiotics are a great thing!

Thanks for the suggestions girls! I'm going to try some of them soon :) She doesn't have any teeth yet either? Anyone else's LO a toothless wonder like my Casey. I have a few friends with babies her age or younger and most of them have at least one!! She's just starting to sit on her own. It only lasts a few seconds and she gets distracted and falls over.
What's everyone's views on baby tv?? Casey seems to really enjoy it as I have it on when we are in the living room but I've heard others say they woldn't dare let their LO's watch!

hi,

blake has no teeth and hes a week off 7months! but it doesnt stop him sucking food to bits. he cant sit without support but hes happy rolling etc.

blake doesnt watch tv and i dont like the baby tv chanels. but saying that the other 2 only watch for about an hr after school.

Izzy hasnt got any teeth yet, but u can see some just under the surface and its feels like she has been teething forever! She can sit unaided for about 5 minutes at a time, the maximum time she has done was 15 mins. But she still hasnt rolled!!! and hates laying on the floor, so think she wont really crawl either!
She watches a bit of tv, i personally think there is nothing wrong with it- as everything else in moderation- i think at this age surely all the bright colours/singing etc has to be good stimulation?
