If you're in the US and you opt to test for downs, you can find out with the blood test. They usually test for the chromosomes too...I found out with my son at 12 weeks

At my 12 week scan the U/S tech said it was a boy but he said it was to early to be 100% sure. At my 20 week scan it was confirmed that baby is a boy

Seems a little bit early at 9-10w.
At the nt scans for my two (13w) they said DS1 and DS2 both looked like boys but at that stage it's more of a guess (I lightheartedly asked if they could tell yet lol) DS1 was confirmed at 20 & 21w scans and DS2 was very easily confirmed a boy at a private 16w scan, which I double checked at the 20w scan. I actually asked again when I had another scan at 32w just to make sure ha ha!
