Sheffield, South Yorkshire

Looks like a plan is coming together! Who wants to decide the venue then? I'm rubbish at decisions ;). Sounds like there may be quite a few of us!

Not sure if anyone else is coming with babies but it would be lovely to meet baby Ethan!

Xx

Well, seeing as there is gonna be a number of us I would recommend Urban Deli as it can sometimes be hard enough getting a table for 2!

Let me put my thinking hat on overnight and see if I can come up with somewhere with plenty of space, unless any-one has any ideas.

Also depends where in town Folly is based?

Emz - It would be lovely to meet Ethan, I have never seen such a new baby

ooh bring him! might inspire my Harry to make an appearance!

no offence ladies but part of me is hoping that i'll have to miss it cause my man has decided to arrive! ahaha x

I work down towards the station but will work from home in the morning so will just head straight into town from there and then at least it's downhill on the way back ;) My husband suggested Millenium Galleries cafe as doing quite nice food, I've never eaten there myself, not sure if you have ArcaneSpark?

I don't think anyone will take offence. The last few weeks are a nightmare :haha: Have you tried raspberry leaf tablets? I went into labour less than 2 weeks after I started taking 3 a day and was only pushing for 7 minutes. It gave me some BH every time I took them, which I think prepared my body for labour.

Also, try walking  I walked loads during the last few weeks of my labour and walking also helped make my contractions become more regular when I was in early labour.

Oh, and try relaxing in a Clary Sage bath. Radox do a Clary Sage muscle soak and I started using it a couple of days before I went into labour. Don't know whether or not that's coincidence.:winkwink: I tried everything to get my labour started and my contractions started at 37 weeks. I had my little man in the end at 37+3 weeks. Good luck to you!

I'm happy with the Millennium Galleries if they will have big enough tables for us all (never been) ? Was thinking today and though not an obvious choice places like Platilos in Leopold Sq are quite often very quiet at lunchtime, and they have hot/cold drinks and food from nibbles to a full meal? I don't seem to often be able to eat a huge amount in 1 go so tend to just nibble at my desk throughout the day.

Any thoughts girls, we need a decision!

Well shall we say Platillos then? I don't think anyone is going to make a decision!

Do you think it will be ok for emz if she is bringing Ethan? I assume there is somewhere downstairs you could leave a pushchair (check me out, thinking like a Mum already!)

I quite like the idea of the cafe at the Millennium Galleries. If there isn't enough space then we could always go somewhere else nearby. Another advantage is that it's close to the station for me. :haha:

I honestly don't mind where we go as long as it's baby friendly and as long as I can get some warm water to heat a bottle up. :)

Platillos also sounds good. You are thinking like a mum already! I'm sure there will be somewhere i can shove a pushchair. Would there not be enough room to bring a pushchair or car seat to the table? I'm just wondering what to do with Ethan while I eat.

I think there would be enough room to get it to the table, there are just quite a lot of stairs to get up to the restaurant if I remember rightly, you might be able to eat downstairs in the day though, not sure!

I imagine we could push some tables together at the gallery cafe, I think it takes up quite a bit of the downstairs part, I have no idea how many people are coming :D

I've got a travel system so could carry the car seat upstairs if necessary. I'm sure it won't be an issue. :)

Ah, I know where you mean now, down overlooking Hallam uni, I was thinking it was one of the little places actually in the Winter Gardens.

Sounds good to me!

Ok, so we're meeting at 12, right? And which restaurant are we going for then? :)

Hello
I'm still good for lunch tomorrow at 12. Have we decided on millenium galleries cafe?

Feels funny turning up to meet a group if people I've never met before! :)

X

Millenium galleries cafe would be easiest for me because I know where it is. :haha: I have to go now but I'll check this forum first thing in the morning to see what's been decided. I feel weird about it too! At least we'll all have something in common though.

Sounds like Millennium Gallery's Cafe is the place. I will try and escape work as close to 12 as I can, but will probably be nearer 12.10 but the time I'm there.

I will just look for a group of preg ladies hehe! Surely there can't be that many during lunch on a Friday, we should have gone to a bar and then we would have stuck out like a sore thumb! :-D

You never know we may accidentally recruit more people!

See you all tomorrow

Hannah - Sorry you couldn't make it, is everything ok? Was pondering on the way back if you'd gone into labour?

Was lovely to meet the rest of you sorry I had to run back to work!

Lovely to meet u too!

Maybe we can do it again one day? I had a lovely cuddle with baby Ethan after u left. He's gorgeous!
X

Kathryn - That would be great, if ever you fancy a local coffee when the others can't meet up let me know. I'm very often to be found in Cello at the bottom of my street.

Lucky you getting a cuddle, he was adorable, I would be so worried about "breaking him". I was so jealous you ladies had the option of while-ing (sp?) away the afternoon, can't wait till maternity leave!
