Hi Ladies
When did everyone start baby shopping?
I'm tempted to start, but think il hang on till I find gender out incase any of ds things will come handy?

This is our first and we won't know the gender til birth, but I started buying little bits and pieces of gender-neutral clothes the other week, about 19+ something.

I've done a ton of window shopping online for the bigger things, and we'll probably go in a few weeks, around our birthdays, to push some prams around and make some decisions etc.

It makes sense to wait if you're finding out the gender so you don't buy more than you need as you already have boy stuff, but I reckon start whenever you're comfortable to do so, if you know what you need/want etc and it's stuff you don't want to get in gender-specific designs.

For me personally, I'm waiting a bit longer because I don't want to walk into Mothercare without a bump :haha: I know that's just me being silly, and they're hardly going to kick someone out of a baby shop because they don't look pregnant, but I always imagined me and hubby baby shopping when I had an obvious bump, so I want to stick to that fantasy :D My bump is getting there though, so soooooooon the shopping will start!

After we found out gender really! I'm not a huge fan of the gender neutral selections around where I live. xx

I've only just started shopping for this baby (I'm almost 21 weeks); I wanted to wait until after my 20 week scan (finding out the gender too) and I had that two days ago. We're having another little girl but I didn't keep a lot of my first daughters stuff (we donated or sold most of it) as I always knew I'd want to buy new things for a second baby, so apart from the cot and moses basket (I'll just need new mattresses for them) I'll be buying everything again! I'm just getting little bits and bobs for now (a few outfits, bibs etc) though as we have quite a bit of decorating going on at the moment, but within the next few weeks I will be doing A LOT of shopping for the new baby :happydance:xx

I started walking into the shops at 6 weeks. :haha: But I don't think I'll be buying any big stuff at least until 24 weeks.

We haven't bought anything at all yet. We are having another girl and our youngest dd is only 8 months so we have absolutely everything from her (bouncer chair/playmat/Moses basket etc)
We will probably buy new most of the clothes as baby will be in vests/babygros for the first few months and they get quite worn as they are always on, so we like to buy new ones.
Only big thing we need to buy is a double pram and will probably start lookig in the next few weeks and buy when we have decided on one we both like.

First thing we bought was a little superman hoodie after our 16 week gender scan. Reluctantly bought/ordered car seat and pram earlier than I would have liked at 19/20 weeks as there is long wait for it. Won't get those for a month or so. Got a couple of sleep suits too.
I wanted to start shopping from around 24/26 weeks at the earliest. So will start looking at baby stuff will full force then :)
I've ages to buy things yet though.

Start when you feel comfortable. :flower:

I waited until we found out the gender. With my first we bought a crib set at like 13 weeks though, we just bought a gender neutral one.

We started stocking up diapers and wipes as soon as we found out we were pregnant and got the crib/dresser. I only have a few outfits and some other things, but not too much. I am trying to refrain until after the shower so that I can definitely purchase what we need. It is tough though...LOL

I started trying to pick up diapers every once in a while after about 12 weeks. After we found out we were having a girl at our 20 week scan I had to go buy something, so got a few cute sleepers. Gonna try to wait till after our shower to buy much else. I still have all my big stuff from my son.

I'm going to wait till gender scan for anything as it gives me time to save up too... I just can't control my urge when in the shops, so tempted to buy

I've only bought a few onesies for now, the doctor has me down as 28 weeks right now. So I should probably get my ass moving with buying things lol we have a change table though and my sister is going to give us a pack N play with the bassinet thingie inside it. He won't need a highchair until later on so no hurry to buy that.

I started after my 12 week scan but didn't buy many clothes before then as I wanted to buy gender appropriate stuff. As it turned out we're having our second girl so don't need to buy all that much but i've still bought this baby some new stuff just for her so she doesn't have ALL hand me downs.
