I started my new job when I was 17 weeks pregnant, hadn't worked for 2 years previous. I will have been employed for 26 weeks by the company the week of my original 40 week due date. I will be induced at 38 weeks so would want to leave work at 35 weeks. Even though I will have started maternity leave would I still be classed as "employed" even though I wont actually be working and earning anything once I leave. I will still have a contract of employment with the company. Il be gutted if I can't claim maternity allowance as only missing out by a few weeks, I accepted the job at 13 weeks but my official date to start was 2 weeks after once I completed induction days or I would of been employed for 26 weeks by the time I get induced :( . All this is as long as the company don't find a reason to let me go after my 3month trial period (the trial ends when I am 30 weeks pregnant), only just told my employer this week that I am pregnant too so I think they will get rid of me under another reason even though I wouldn't be claiming any maternity pay off them.

if your started earning money with them from 17 weeks your 26 weeks wont be up till your 3 weeks past your due date (inless i worked that out wrong) They count it up till the week before your baby is due not when you will be induced. So the week before your due date. So assuming they keep you on and dont let you go before your due date you would needed to of started working from when you where 13 weeks pregnant. You need 13 weeks of payslips to show them as well that you have earnt at least 13 pounds
