So question for all who miscarried

Well i miscarried on Feb 5th 2009. and had my check up appt on Feb 19th, but the doc didnt do anything to make sure all was ok now, and to make sure all the tissue was gone.

Anyways i just finally got around to getting a pregnancy test today, and it came up negative. Does that mean all the tissue is gone? and i can TTC again?

I'm so sorry for you loss hun. xox I've just gone through my second.

With my first miscarriage, I ended up with an infection due to retained products leftover after my initial d&c. Had to go for a second d&c. My doctor then tracked my bhcg down to below 5.

I'm assuming that she will do the same this time too, as I'm going in weekly for bloodwork.

If a pregnancy test is coming back negative, yes.....that would mean that your miscarriage is complete (sorry hun). If your doctor told you to try again after this, then go ahead.

I think that we may wait until i've had atleast a cycle before trying again. Better for dating, and to ensure that lining has built up in my uterus first. Not saying that it wouldn't be safe to. Just for my own piece of mind. Lots of women do become pregnant before their first cycle arrives, after miscarriage.

I got a scan after my mmc to confirm all tissue was gone, and with my 2nd m/c my GP make sure my hcg was down below 5.

I had my last m/c in January and then ovulated exactly 2 weeks after my last big m/c blood clot and now am 6 weeks pg.

I was told you only need to wait 1-2 cycles if you had a D&C, but if you had a natural early m/c, it is really like a heavy period, so you are ok to conceive on the next cycle. In fact you are more likely to conceive as your body is already 'primed' for pregnancy. This explains why I got pg again so quick, as it had taken me 2 years between m/cs to fall pg again!

Iv just been on the phone to EPAU and told them that I too have had a BFN after mc on 16th feb. She advised to wait for a full visit from the witch before TTC. But yes. A negative means all pg has left your body. Sorry for your loss hun. XX

I got a just 6 days after i started to MC but was still told to wait for before TTC again. But the information leaflet i was given by the MC association says it is safe for most people to TTC right away...so i think there is a lot of different advice/information out there.

They say if your body is ready it will happen. I didn't wait after any of my m/c's, but I also didn't get pregnant right away either. Good luck in your journey!
