so worried

hello all,

Im really worried I went for my weekly scan yesterday and my blood results say -
I have high white blood cells =15.44
low iron levels
neutrophils =11.12

I have been told I need to call next week for the results I had done yesterday!
This is making me feel so worried and with all my other probs im so fed up!

Advice would be great

Hello,

I'm no expert but, high white blood cells usually means your body is working well to fight an infection - so your body may well handle the infection itself or you might be advised to take a course of antibiotics to help it along. Neutrophils are a type of white blood cell.

Low iron levels are not uncommon in pregnancy and can generally be dealt with fairly easily with a course of iron and vitamin c supplements. Extreme iron deficiency sometimes requires a blood transfusion (which is a very standard procedure).

Based on the results you have described I wouldn't be very worried.

Its so odd as I dont feel ill just tired maybe its due to the amount of blood thinners im on xx

yeah, lois is right. i used to work in a path lab doing bloods. infection, but they will sort it out for you dont worry xxx
