sweep before due date?

Do you know if this is common practise or do mw's usually avoid it? I am thinking ahead as my midwife is only in the surgery every monday. I only see her every 2 weeks so if i go over i will have my sweep 5 days after my due date but if i was to go to see the midwife on the monday before my due date i will only be 2 days off my due date so do you think I should ask for a sweep then? My midwife told me 5 days over will be fine, yes that maybe the case for her but not for me!!!

I'm not sure whether it's the case in every area but here they don't do sweeps until 41 weeks. I have heard of some people getting them before though so not sure, I think there maybe has to be a reason for them to agree to it iykwim xx
