The Disabled Mummy's Group

Hi everyone, sorry I've not been on for a while I've been soooooooo busy.

Chaise is doing really well now, his reflux came back but I've put him on aloe vera juice and its working sooo good.
I reckon Chaise is going to be mobile soon! At the minute we've got his cot on the highest setting so I can reach easily but pretty soon it will need to be lowered. We're thinking about making one side so it is on a hinge and opens outwards with 2 catches incase Chaise becomes clever enough to undo the catch. I was also thinking that if the mattress is low down then its okay for safety reasons as if he did fall it wouldnt be far. I could reach to put him down if it was a "straight" reach-down, but not over the cot side.

Sorry for rambling, how is everyone?

Sam- its really nice to see you on here, I never get chance to speak to you anymore :( We've started the complaints procedure to SS, the DPN are helping us, not sure if it will do any good though!

Abbie- I didn't realise how bad you were feeling hun, I'm always on msn if you want to chat :)

Hiya all! I am so sorry I havent been on for agggeeesss! Since my last visit here on 23rd October, has been so so busy with my son, Billy. Also my birthday not long ago it was on 26th.

Hows everyone doing so far? I just thought to bump it up to see if any replies to this thread. :)

I dont know if I should do the parents journal for Billy? xxx

Hi Nanaki, wow, it hasn't been so long since Billy was born, it took me a good few weeks to get back to posting regularly after Vincent was born, so I think you're doing well to be posting already!

As for the parenting journal, why not? If you like to keep a record of it then it's a good idea I think! If I'd had a spare ounce of energy when Vince was tiny I might've done something like that, but we do keep a calendar of all of his milestones... The most recent being "discovers hands" and "laughs for the first time" :D :yipee:

Hope everyone's well :)

Shadow xxx

I was thinking about starting a parent journal for a while, just that he is only 3 weeks old and he had all done is sleeping, poop, and feeding. So, to my surprise, he has sneezed 8 times today! How sweet of him! :)

This thread has been quiet for a while, right?

xxxx

hi all hows everyone doing - i am still searching for my bfp lol !!

otherwise ok - atho the cold does not agree with my joints !!

Oh hope you will get your BFP real soon, Steph!

And hope you will get better soon! xxxx

Yea this thread tends to go quiet doesn't it
I guess we all have quite a lot going on, I know I don't come on here so often these days, sorry about that girls! Hope everyone is well.

Nanaki, cuuute that Billy is sneezing, it's pretty funny and cute isn't it?
Steph, hope you get your BFP real soon, we're thinking of when to start trying for number 2- How old is your little one now?

Vincent is teething :( poor little mite was in lots of pain with it yesterday, there's no white bits showing yet but his cheeks are all pink and hot and he's dribbling loads. It's a bit early, but not unheard of... I'm glad in a way because it means he most likely doesn't have my oligodontia, my tooth condition, which is GREAT! :)

Lots of love to all,
Shadow xx

kieran is 4 now !! but we have trying since december last year xxx I am well and truely ready

i cannot believe how old your wee one isnow !!! and number 2 already woweeee - braver than me i waited till kieran could do alot by himself lol altho who knows when the righht time is !!

oh and just a quicky ref teething !! for kieran the boots own teething powders were amazing for him - i used to give them to him on a spoon !!

Thanks Steph, not heard of teething powders, will look into it! Anything to give him some relief when he's in so much pain :(

We're not trying for number 2 yet (lol that would be too much I think!) But are starting to plan the timing of TTC again :D

xx

Hey I am home from the hospital aftre had my baby son, Billy Clayton! The birth announcement is up in that section! :D xxxx

huge congrats to you and billy ! :D
i don't have much time to come on here anymore although am hoping it gts easier now we are sleeping upstairs and not with me on the sofa by her moses basket thingy. i am co-sleeping with rosie and she slept so much better than before. i have an appt to see a physio and a rheumatologist so hoping that this will go somewhere. pain is v bad at the mo and lifting rosie is v hard. she is 16 weeks today :D
i like hearing how everyone else manages x

soliloquise, thank you!! And welcome back!

We are coping well with Billy, apart from the night time, we are struggling to get him settled but we are getting there as Billy is only 3 weeks old and will be a month old next week!! Time goes too fast since I given birth. :D

So how is everybody that if they are popping into this journal! :) xxx

Hello, how is everyone doing?

I got a Mei Tai a few days ago and I am in LOVE with it, it's AMAZING. I don't think my puschair will get used anymore, as I've just been having him on my knee in the Mei Tai! I love having him so close to me, he's well supported so he can sleep in it, and because of the support he doesn't wriggle so much and distract me as he does in some other slings.

Here's some photo's of us with the Mei tai

I wrapped a cardigan around us so we didn't get cold :)

Here we are having a cuddle after his midnight bottle. It was sooo easy to get up and take him back to his cot compared to when I have to stad up then lift him. When I took him out to swaddle him, I noticed the difference sooo much when I carried him back to his cot!

Sorry for the rambling lol.

I hope everyones okay :)

OMG chaise is 6 months old where does the time go

hows everyone else ??

I had an OT assesment the other day and she was fab its a brill report and should really help for the new house !!! still no move date tho

Knock Knock?
Wheres everyone got to these days?
i hope everyones okay?
:hugs:

 Hi Abble :D

I'm doing great, hope everyone else is OK too! Vincent is nearly 7 months now, and is turning into such a little dude :D He's lots of fun now, but very heavy and still not sitting up on his own or anything yet so I'm relying a lot on OH to carry him about etc... He's loving his Jumperoo (anyone else got ne of these?) and Water Babies that we go to every Thursday: I swim with him, the water is super heated for the tiny babies and it's lovely for my joints! Viunce adores it too, he has swum under water on his own now, I let go and let him swim to the surface at our last session!

Hope everyone is well, we should give a little update on our situations!
Angel, those pictures are fabulous!! I have a Close carrier but Vincent really sits on my lap in my EPIOC now and the sling just kind of holds him closer to me :) Mei Tai looks fab!! As does the shared cardi hehehe xxxx

Shadow! 7 months wow!
Tyler-Jay is 9 months old i cannot believe how fast it has gone!
I have had a rough time of it lately so im reeeally slacking on here and updating. :nope:
Me and FOB split up after six years about three months ago, it was all very heartbreaking and hard to do.
But now i see it was the right thing to do, as he wasnt treating me right, it was like having two babies to look after! :growlmad:
Buut now im recently in a new relationship with a guy whos 24 hes very helpful and great with tyler really helps me sooo much, its amazing to be treated right..
Right so, Tyler-Jay, nine months old, he is growing so fast, hes trying to crawl nowadays gets on his hands and knees and rocks back and forth not quite got the hang of it yet. he also has two teeth!!!!! :happydance:
One tooth at the bottom is just cutting through the gum, and one at the top which is white under his gum.
Stop growing my little twinkle toes!!!!!!.
He claps his hands now as from yesterday so that is brilliant, and everythings happening so fast now hes changing so much.
On the mummy front im not doing as well tbh, my back aches and shoulder got majorly worse so i had to go to the doctor, she said i was obese!! and thats why back has started aching, anyway she put me on these painkillers calles Dykelophenik? (SP) and they seem to carm it down but as soon as i miss a tablet im in agony!! like i cannot get out of bed. hmpf im only eighteen this feels rubbish.
Aha! now im over my rant, is anyone managed to read this hehee :haha:

Hello girls...

My massive apologise for my absent for a while!!! I have got things on top of me nowdays! My son, Billy is now 4 and half months old (20 weeks this thurs) coming up 5 months in couple of weeks, gosh, its so fast! I suspected he have a white bud at the back of his top gum. And he is now keeping try to roll over, but he did it 3 times without me being there!!! So annoying for not see him and praise him when he did it. :( He have his hands in his mouth most of time, and I have started to wean him with baby rice and was advised by HV to keep him on baby rice for a while til next visit to baby clinic this month.

So later this month, I am so exciting to go down to Birmingham with my son to meet Lisa (mumof42009) for the first time after failed to arrange and meet up. We have been in touch by text sometimes but I would like to make new friends because I dont have any friends hearing or deaf - who have kids who similar ages as Billy, its hard for me to find people.

In May, we are going to a wedding Reception of my friends, will be first time without Billy being with us as my Mum is going to looking after him when she have confirmed that she is having a time off as a taxi driver.

Hope you girls are well? xxxx
