The losers club

Are you finding that you need that 10% deposit for your next house though? I've been speaking to our mortgage advisor today she's a family friend so I know I'm not going have any shit from her and we were going though figures and the difference between a 10% deposit and a 15% deposit is around £130/150 a month difference on the mortgage so it's worth trying to get the 15% deposit to put down. So for instance a £160k house we would need 16k for a 10% deposit and that would be a monthly payment of £800 or a 24k for a 15% deposit and that would be £670 a month. We definitely want a detached there's no compromising on that one.

Go blondey!!!!
house hunting is sooo exciting!
we have a 40% deposit in our house and our mortgage is £1000/month.. i'm winning euromillions this week!
Just had a giant plate of stovies and oatcakes, i'm stuffed!

Yummy Michelle! :)
Not sure, want to go see the one that has the sauna tho, but that's not til later in the week. There's one in the area I really want.
Think we'll end up using 25% deposit, depending on the state of the house! LOL.

Well I got a message this evening... house is SSTC :( we are having the WORST luck! Arranging to view this one though - https://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-to-rent/property-35204947.html but not sure if it's just too much a month or not...

That one is really lovely Emmy, but it's a lot of money a month. I was told by a financial advisor to try to keep mortgage or rent below a third of your wages. Mind you, that may be well below a third in your case, I dunno, just always thought it was good advice.

That does look really nice. I hope you all get lovely houses! (And invite me to the housewarming parties :haha:)

My rent is about half my income :(

Went back to Tampere last night cos my ex is having issues bringing Maria back to me (his car needs to be MOT'd and he's techinically only allowed to drive to the MOT place now but he's gonna drive to the train station near him tomorrow morning when I'm passing through on the train so I can quickly grab her then - not the ideal way of doing things but the only way right now :( ) but was nice to watch the guys practice some new songs

That's a pain Nats but the easiest thing to do by the sounds of it.
I won a Cath Kidson handbag on a FB group I'm on, it's all lucky dips so you pay for example £1 for a ticket, 50 others do the same and a random number generator is used to pick a winner! It's addictive! I think it's called mummy's lucky dips if anyone wants to join?
Tabitha ate a whole bowl of stovies for lunch, all by herself and barely spilled a drop :)

Well done T and yay for your win Michelle!

Timo is coming round tonight to keep me company :D

What are stovies michelle? Is it some Scottish word for something or a particular Scottish food??
Have fun nats! Are you in love yet??
Have you been house searching blondey?

Arrrrggghhhh so bloody annoyed. Just had a text off the lady who runs sensory group and she has cancelled tomorrows class and up until the 5th of September! It's already been off the last 3 weeks!!!!! I've been telling the boys were going sensory and their faces light up. I'm so gutted. I know it's only a class but you know how much we all love this class! They hold a group on a Monday but it is a 35 minute drive away but there's no way can we not go for another 4 weeks when we already haven't been for 3 weeks. So going go monday. Now I'm going have to think of somewhere to take them in morning now :-(

We watched The Dictator and according to that if I don't want to see him decapitated it must be love :haha:

It's basically semi mashed potatoes, silverside, onions and a wee bit gravy all mixed up. Served with beet root and oatcakes or tomato sauce, both are yummy!!

Fabby, thats rubbish about your class! to have it cancelled for 7 weeks is ridiculous!!!

stovies - tastes better than it looks!!

Hope it tastes better than it looks! :haha:

Grr thats annoying about the class, poor kids

Mmm, stovies is awesome! I had a stovies ready meal for my first dindins back in Aberdeen :) I have internets again, thought I would die but I still appear to be here.

Hello sapphire! Welcome to Scotland. Thank you for bringing the sun... :)

What did you end up doing fabby?

I've never tried stovies, its a northern thing. But can you give me a recipe? I'd like to try it.

Ooohh Nats and timmo up a tree... ;)

Hope you're settling in back in Scotland Saph!!

I hate to say it, stovies look  Sorry girls!! :haha:

House hunting sucks. Nothing is comparing space wise/garden wise/drive wise to the house we lost  Yesterday we saw two houses which were both waaaaaaaaay to small. One had the potential of extension but that scares me!! One we saw today and it's still way to small down stairs but the previous owner to those in there now added a garage and put a master suite above it, so there is the potential of converting the garage which is less scary. But the house is on for £240k and that's the most I'd want to spend wthout knowing if I got the job. And obviously we'd need monies to convert and the whole place needs decorating! Huff, adulthood is hard!!
